English break: WTF is up with dudes saying "Scary" to imply someone is "Scared"?

This is a relatively new phenomenon. I would blame the worsening public education system but most of the dudes I've heard(I've never heard a woman say it) are older. Saying shit like "I wanted to fight him but he was scary","he's a scary nigga", or "his scary ass blah, blah, blah." I don't know why dudes started saying it but I know I can't be the only one who's thought about this. I'm sure the dudes who never mad it past 8th grade who'll say you need to be a Rhodes Scholar to notice shit like this will be in here soon.
