It’s Dark and Hell is Hot blew my mind

And I’m from the South

This post intrugued me. It did because I don't think the new generation can have the feeling that we (33 years old and up) had in the late 80's and 90's about hearing a ground breaking album (either sonically and or politically). My album of choice is shown below. It blew my mind when I herd ATLiens

Outkast-atliens.jpg

Madvilliany - MF DOOM and Madlib
Public Enemy- It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back
ATCQ - Low End Theory

Hiatus kaiyote - Choose your Weapon

Secret Rendezvous - Paint the Town Red

Mint Condition - Meant to Be Mint

D'Angelo - Brown Sugar

Beaten Bodies - The Royal Road

Tre Samuels - Lost in Translation

Malia Vibes - Late Bloomer (Posting this gem this Week... Had it for a month.. EP is FLAMES)

I could go on and on on this one..

But there are 2 albums that let me know that I would be a musical fan for life....

Al Green - Let's Stay Together (Fucking Played How can you Mend a Broken Heart 70 times straight.. when I got dumped in Junior High. Played it so much that my Mom banned the song in her house for a month)

Al Green - I'm Still in love with You

Outkast - ATLiens

Marvin Gaye - Here, My Dear - if you've ever been through it, I mean through it in a relationship, this CD here just hits you hard. The lyrics oh, the depth

  • I met a little girl
  • When did you stop loving me, when did I stop loving you
  • Anger
  • Is that enough
  • You can leave but it's going to cost you
  • Falling in love again
  • Time to get it together
