{~~~Guns, Guns and Mo' Guns - The Right To Keep And Bear Arms~~~}

So...... I've decided to build a super short dedicated AR .22lr. No SBR, top tier parts, or fancy fandanglements. This will be strictly a range toy. The rules are simple - low cost, light weight, reliable, and as short as possible.......
I think I understand why.

The 10mm will be my next pistol. I am debating the Glock 20 or 29.

Get the 20...it can take down bears you wont have any issues taking down anything else. The only mod I had done was the green laser im keeping everything else the same. I changed a lot of shit out on my 22 and it started doing crazy shit. Glock got it right from the factory all that aftermarket shit to me is just for conversation.

Get it and break that mf in..im going to the gun range 3 days straight starting monday.

I just came into an extra check so my next purchase will be a Ruger GP100 SS 357 with 4" barrel. I've always wanted a sturdy revolver and the fact it can take two types of ammo makes a difference.

I am well versed with 9MMs and the like but I there is something about a powerful 6 shooter that intrigues me. In MD I cant get anything over 10 rounds anyways. Im going to get a S&W 9mm or a Berretta after that. Also be on the lookout : the Marines and DoD are getting ready to flood the used market with 1911s they are phasing out!

I feel you...how much do you shot them?

After leaving the service, I don't shoot pistols that much unless whomever comes with me to the range brings a few through. I can still get a tight shot group with most having learned on Beretta M9s. I got into Shotguns for home defense. Went with Mossberg 500 Persuader 7+1. Converted it to a bullpup since I needed a shorter profile for tight corners.

I have an affinity for old school but tried and true pieces with easy modifying and available parts. My wishlist is as follows for this year:

Ruger Mini14 .223/5.56
Ruger 10-22 (maybe takedown for portability) or Tac version within legal limits
9MM. It's a toss up right now. I like Glocks but want to try a few more out.

I always kept a 357 until I started having kids. I personally dont think kids and revolvers are a good mix. I miss my 357 tho. I use to practice with .38 rounds.

thats the .40 cal right?
i have the 2nd Gen
wait......nah.....i got the Glock 22, i think the 20 is 10mm

No my brother...that is the Glock 20...the 10mm

I had the 22 gen 4 I posted a pic of it as well with the 30 round clip. I moded that damn gun with diff trigers..lone wolf barrel and diff spring. One thing I will say from wasting money on all that bullshit is how you gonna perfect something that is already perfected from Glock?

I learned the hard way...the aftermarket shit is all bullshit and a waste of money. Glock got it right from the factory so from here on out i will keep my 20 factory. I only added the green laser because it visable during the day and night.

Most I'll do is tungsten guide rod, night sights, and some mag/pinky extensiosns.
I plan on getting some weapon lights for home defense guns

I have this exact pistol, and it has become one of my favorite guns.
The gun is reliable, and low maintenance (Ruger revolvers are built like a tank), and the .357 mag round is powerful (a .357 mag will stop anything on two legs and most things on four) without the .44 mag's wear & tear on your wrists. And the fact that you can practice with, less expensive, .38 Spl ammo is also a plus to me. If you are looking for a wheel gun this is a great choice. Just for the sake of completeness, you could also look at the S&W 686. It is a nearly identical .357 revolver, and some people prefer it's trigger, but it will cost you $200-$300 more.

I've heard about the trigger and from what I've read some folks get a gunsmith to adjust or change the springs. The ideal trigger pull is on the Colt Python but that is so sought after ($2000-4000) might as well get something similar. Pretty pieces though.

I too was one who felt i needed a softer trigger...i went from the 5.5lb to the 3lb and didnt even like it because I going by why I was reading instead of how my G was perfroming.

Probably why I will wait and see what the first 50 rounds feels like.
