A couple of mine are...

PROCRASTINATION.

Using my time more wisely. Lately, I've been fucking off on my off days instead of doing some constructive things and just getting things done that I keep putting off!

SAVING MORE MONEY.

I was always good at putting money aside each payday (I'm still pretty good at it) but I noticed I've been buying a LOT of expensive bullshit that I really don't need!

I'm going to focus more on saving and paying this house off (again). Once I pay it off, im going to buy a new truck and use that same 3 grand a month and pay the truck off early!

GET ORGANIZED!

Organized as far as clutter in and around home... clutter in my in my thinking and decision making.

I got a lot of disorganization I gotta take care of!

I got more resolutions and I'm not just going to write them down and talk about them....

I'M GOING TO CARRY THESE RESOLUTIONS OUT!

Name some of yours.

Spend more quality time with family. Days aren't guaranteed & have lost too many people the past 15 - 20 years ... have been pretty good about maintaining contact with everyone, but putting more of a premium on that moving forward. Someone calls or texts you? Get back to them promptly. Visits or dinners/outings with people? Say yes to that shit, and don't put it off because you think you have "something better to do" or it isn't the most appealing to you. Value that quality time with your immediate circle. Same goes for friends. Even if you're just hanging out and bullshitting. That's better than not.

Just live your life right, according to what you deem is right. Fuck resolutions. As for improving yourself, you should be doing that already.

I used to say this too but it's something about the start of a new year that makes me WANT to change and do something different and better than before.

You're right, throughout the year, I look for ways to better myself and for the most part, I carry them out, but, at least for me, there seems to be a psychological factor about the new year makes me want to get a new grip on things that I'm trying to accomplish in my life's journey.

To find happiness,

I know it sound corny but this year I got a divorce and my father died. Within in three months. For most of the year I been in a deep depression.

No, this doesn't sound corny at all.

In fact, my (and probably every human being's) #1 goal in life IS to BE HAPPY!

Sorry to hear about your losses... I've been there pretty much in that same order you mentioned!

It's an old cliche, but keep your head up and fight thru it because things ALWAYS gets greater, later!

Hmm almost died end of 2016, almost died in 2017....
Spent 3/4 of the year hospitalized so in 2018 I will LIVE lol
And of course prepare my eventual death properly this time.

Damn man, I'm sorry to hear all of that!

I use the phrase "It could be worse" all of the time.

I say that phrase because I find myself complaining about things that really are not a big deal but I hear stories like yours and I tell myself "I'm fucking lucky to not have gone thru something like that!"

As I get older, I have learned to count my blessings and be thankful that I have my health, a roof over my head, a means to pay my bills and to buy things that I need...

...I can't/won't fucking complain because it could be a LOT worse for me!

Stay up fam, I hope things are getting better for you!

Fam... you ain't NEVER lied!

This right here is another thing that I have to start to value more!

I take shit like this for granted and I sometimes don't really give a full appreciation of the value of friends and family!

Thank you, because reaching out more to friends and family is going on the top of my list! :money:

One of my biggest resolutions is to trying to find a balance between "grindin" and taking more time for myself...work/life balance...

Damn!

This is partly why I sometimes blow off family and friend get-togethers...

...I'm ALWAYS working! :smh:

Finding that balance is another one that goes high on my list!
Thanks, Fam!

people problem is they selfish so the real thing is how can you benefit mankind

get at least 5 people a job or better career

donate clothes to the homeless

cook or buy food and give it to the homeless

inspire the youth

help promote or push a black entrepreneur or bizzness

making more people laugh

if more people did these things the world would be a better place

Thanks CM.

It's a page out of pops' book. He's really good at keeping in contact with people. Checks in regularly by phone or email. Closest friends are people he's known for 55-60 years. Visits people, grabs lunch, or tells them to drop by if they are in his neighborhood. He's good about maintaining those bonds with relatives out of province or country too. We visited some older relatives in the US in mid-December this year, and the past 5 out of 7 years or so. It sinks in when you realize they are 78, 80, 83 and 90yo. Having already lost so many others over time. Gonna visit them this spring or summer too. Also, I'm gonna continue visiting pops per normal. We usually grab dinner, help out with some yard work or errands, or watch some shows or a movie. The shows are good cuz they are multi-episodic. Makes it a regular reason to hang out together every week or two (have them on the DVR or flash drive). Same for the UFC parties with friends. Gets the crew together 10-12 times a year. Good company. Plus it works for most peoples' schedules.

i want to start a "hood uber" service and buy 3 dump trucks for contract work this year. want to increase existing business by 6% for 2018.

That's what I'm talkin about!

Bout to crank up a business.

Was thinking about getting me a good

used tow truck and see where it goes.

Got a friend in that business and he

says that the market is wide open and

he makes a killing every week.

If it looks like it will work, I will open a

shop with several trucks in the future.

International Travel

I went to Panamá this year after seeing @slam and @pissy drunk! post about it, and that shit was life changing.

Panamá, Dominican Republic, and Canada are on my short list for 2018. Prior to 2017, I could count on one hand the number of non-work related flights that I have taken in my life.

Divorce

Finally getting divorced is high on my list, but when your ex has a baby daddy who is an attorney, shit can get drug out for over 2 years....even with no children or joint property.

Empowerment

My goal is to continue to economically empower those who are disenfranchised as my way of fighting systematic White Supremacy.

More sleep.

I've been getting 5.5 max most nights, mainly because I stay up bullshitting on my phone/social media/BGOL.

In my 20s 5.5 was more than enough to get thru a day that included work, exercising and drinking.

I aint in my 20s anymore and my doc keeps reminding me that a lack of sleep can lead to health issues that will kill me.

So I'm shooting for 6.5 MINIMUM; 7+ ideally each night.

Save money.
Pay debts.
Lose weight.
Spend more time with family, I work too much and miss out on the family.
People at work don't care I am one of 2 people keeping them in a job.
So to hell with them.
I am going to live my life and take time I need.

No children or property...this should be over pretty quickly. Especially if there was a prenuptial agreement involved and if SHE has a child, she may be coming after you to pay child support on the child. I guess it depends on what state youre in though...

Here's to hoping everything works out for you, fam.
