The slow death of the American Mall......

I'm going to keep it 100 on this one.. there was a mall in St Louis Missouri that was huge. It was ultimately shut down because of a bunch of niggas were constantly were fighting and causing problems at that mall. Nobody, black or white, wanted to go out there to even shop

I see as per usual your speaking for the copper color serfs and proletariats.

Prove me wrong, that the retail industry isnt imploding in front of our faces?? The only retail stores doing any good or growing are dollar general, dollar tree, family dollar and so on.. This economy has been fucked up since 2007, all of the numbers are manipulated and fixed!!! Wait til they drop the 21 trillion dollars missing on the people.. You remember what happened when they had a few trillion missing and they told the public,,, you remember right???

It's all about open-air malls and strip-malls now!!!

Hopefully down the line these wont become "dead malls" like the indoor ones..

side note: movie studios could save lots of cash using these locations for film sets..

The problem with malls is all the shit they depended on has been slowly wiped out

1. Anchors stores Sears and Penney's - wiped out by Target/Walmart/Online

2. Music Stores - wiped out by Walmart Target undercutting in the 90's and later on by downloading and streaming in the 2000's

3. Young People clothing stores - wiped out when kids started wearing jerseys and athletic gear all the time.

4. Arcades - started disappearing when Nintendo and Sega made the games look just as good at home.

arcades could easily come back with the right spin to it.. $20 unlimited games.. serve food, drinks, even liqs..u got a bizz with some nice traffic

Could say Dave & Buster's fits this model..
yes and no... you pretty much still paying per game , limited game selection... food menu could be larger... similar but the way i said prob would draw a larger crowd or even take dave and buster customers from them...somebody on here mention that in some west bubble fuck state somebody got a 400 moded machine arcade..that would be crazy in a place like nyc

Those are some good vids by Dan Bell and similar people on Youtube.. heres one that someone did on Metrocenter mall here in Phoenix

As a grown man, I don't wanna walk through no fucking mall with a bunch of goofy ass kids and shit. I was glad when a lot of malls shut down. I had memories galore when I was younger. But who gives a fuck anymore?

Pretty much. Our generation went for social trips and pick up hoes. Grown now and shopping only is tedious and more expensive. Don't know how parents of the 80s and 90s did it but I'm still young enough to be savvy enough for online shopping and our gen just goes with what's better and accepts change. Kids now go online and have any less patience. It's a wrap unless you got something that holds attention. We have Walmart and target in our malls so they will have staying power. If malls didn't have theatres, I would never go .

Keep it 2000% props for speaking the facts. The mall you are referencing is it the old train station?

If mall's were smart, they would rent out to places of necessity. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, salons, barbershops, babysitters, etc

They back already if u know where to look. I hit the arcade in the college town that thang be jumping. A lot of brehs here are stuck in ways on some elderly man ish. In certain malls i see why they put in a curfew. The damn mall ain't a baby sitting service.

Malls were a money scam from the starter pistol. Subsidies and tax breaks, it was a big scam white folks ran and got away with.

Online shopping certainly didn't help, but it's been profitable and part of the plan all along for malls not to work out.

White folks used the government to get rich.
Scam?

Tax breaks?

:lol::lol::lol:

Shit...even Roy Moore knew the ho's was at the mall.....he just fucked up by chasing the youngins' !!!!

Are you blind or retarded? That bitch is Asian as fuck.

Windsor park mall in San Antonio used to be the black mall. People started getting shot and jumped there before the mall went under. They tried to save the mall back in the day by removing the bus stop but the gangs wouldn't stay away. Now the entire mall serves as Rackspace server farm

The Galleria and Baybrook Malls, here in Houston, both seem to be doing extremely well.
Baybrook has done a complete transformation by adding outdoor shops, restaurants, and such.
I-45 being completed helped Baybrook Mall and the Clear Lake area.
Galleria isn't going anywhere.
The other malls are slowly dying off.

Malls were fun while they lasted but why would I drive 10 miles, park, deal with assholes that don't know how to park, walk to the store, find they don't have what i want; when I can simply log on my computer, go to the store site, and find what I want AND a coupon code to lower the costs.

This shit right here. My entire mall going experience at 34 is, Wake up early as fuck, drive around for 10 minutes looking for the right parking spot, far away, by an island. Power walk my ass straight to the store I need you be in, get what I need and beeline back to my car. The entire walk back hoping my car is still alone and is the same shape I left it. Fuck all that. Better deals online and the shit comes to me.

Real shit if someone went after the hard core gaming crowd with your model in certain markets you could clean up. Old school arcades, consoles, computer gaming under the same roof. Food, drinks, vape lounge etc... Gaming culture has largely gone ignored. Dave and busters caters to kids, families and first dates. Gamers that actually like hanging with other gamers, vape heads exchanging info, old school classics, new age shit. Tournaments and shit.

This happened in a mall near me. Except for the asian supermarket at the end, that place is empty as fuck. They said even the food court is vacant now.

Gwinnett County police are trying to identify the body of a woman who was found dead inside a vacant vendor space in the Gwinnett Place Mall food court.

Gwinnett County police need the public’s help in identifying a woman who was found dead at Gwinnett Place Mall shortly before Christmas.

The woman’s body was found around 11 a.m. on Dec. 21 in a vacant restaurant space in the food court. A maintenance worker was inspecting the unit when he found the side door was locked. He climbed over the counter and found the woman’s body in a back room.

The woman was wearing a “black mesh style” jumpsuit and her black tennis shoes were lying next to her feet, police said. There were no obvious signs of trauma, and the case is not considered a criminal homicide at this point, according to police. The woman is believed to have been between 20 and 30 years old, standing 5 feet tall and weighing approximately 100 lbs., police said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation provided a sketch of what the woman may have looked like in life. Anyone with information in this case, including the woman’s identity, is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
