Do you agree?

I'm not mad at his list or the way he went about doing it.

I don't agree with what he said about Pac though. I agree with the Jay/Em issue.

Yea I didn't really disagree with anything he had to say. I'd take everyone he mentioned over Lamar and Cole as well. (no dis to the youth)

I'm more concerned with Vlads questioning of Rakim's placement. He makes the top 5, 9 times outta 10.

Wow. Really?
i understand why folsk say that. gza is in ghostface's top 3 . lyrically , he's underrated. however, ghostface has more tools in his arsenal. lyircs, flow, personality, they're both creative but ghost is naturally funny. it's like what rapport said about ghost. he was rapping over a soul record and that was a official song on his album. not " yo' sample this beat god" no. he rapped over the record playing in the studio and mixed it and threw it on the album. creatively ghost is one of the greatest. he's been working like a jazz musican the last few years. the 36 seasons , 12 ways to die 1 & 2 are basically audio movies. i don't agree with mos def in the top 5 . he's high in my list but he would stayed committed he could made some more dope albums. the 1st album is classic status 2nd one is a precursor to rappers singing and rapping heavy (blues, rock, soul)on their album(the panties is one of his illest song). 3rd one was contractual obligation after being stuck in the label situation after rawkus truly folded. the 4th one (the estatic) was mos back in rare form. he bullshitted with dropping the manny fresh project and gave that weak joint dec 99th. he's still nice but i don't like alot of his beat selection in recent memory.

damn that was well thought out.

Fuck him and his top 5.

Honkie still think he's in Zebrahead, i wish Nut woulda killed his ass.

Peace,

Not about to waste my time listening to cac opinions of black art.
Give me a fuckin break, this is not about race. I'm sure Michael Rapaport has been around in the trenches longer than you have to have hip hop knowledge. just because he is white don't exclude him from having knowledge of the art we know as hip hop.

Rappaport is alright in my book. Dude knows his hiphop. I loved how he dismissed Vlad for saying that J Cole is better than Kane. I would love to light one up, sip some brews, and argue hiphop and sports with dude.

If Rappaport said that?

I may actually give this dude another chance

maybe.

nah forget it.

but its still a GREAT point
Serious question good brother... Really...
So, if a White Dude has the EXACT same view and opinion as a black dude, his opinion is invalidated because he's white?

no...its because he is an asshole

period

doesn't matter what color he is or anyone is

he is an asshole, and i actually USED to be a fan of his.

he did f*ck shit to Q-Tip and Lebron too

I finally listened to the vid, though

Honestly he gave some VERY honest and insightful opinions on hip hop.

His Jay Z take was weak but even THAT?

I understood.

I feel you fam... Didn't know he had all that shit with him. Don't follow him that closely

this is one of the interview i enjoyed hearing his opinion. he grew up on hip hop. so i expected his opinion to be interesting. i like the fact that he took nas and jay out of the mix because they mostly make the list and he wanted to make it more interesting. he took big of the convo because of dying young and having a small catalogue( i don't agree. slick rick had 4 albums, big had a double album and his debut) it's worth checking out . i liked his stance on kane and the fact he said top 5 emcees and not artists.

on this hip hop overall he KNOWS his shit, never said he didnt

but he been saying some f*ck shit recently.

but on this topic?

he was really on point.
rapport always says some fuck shit. he was pissed with spike shitting on him as a director. i understand being pissed by spike saying that about him in a disrespectful but to not acknowledge , the gentrification in brooklyn that spike was speaking about in the same article had me like "this fucking idiot."

Fuck this cac's opinion. You'd never see white people respecting the opinion of 2 black dudes talkin bout country music.
Add to it he's a snake, motherfucka made a doc about Tribe and didn't want to give them credit or money. Tried the same thing wit Cam.

You make an interesting point about country music.

But Bomani reviews country and rock and hip hop and is one of the most respected voices in music criticism.
