Starting an LLC is pretty easy, in most states you just fill out a form and send it in with a check. It’s actually pretty straight forward.
On caveat would be the registered agent for the company. If you don’t have an office and don’t want your home address public, or creating the LLC in a different, you can use a registered agent. The rules around this are different in every state, but in Ohio you can use a P.O.box, some states need a physical address. If you don’t want your name as the registered agent there are services that don’t cost that much. Your lawyer or account may also be willing to be your registered agent if you have a good relationship.
However, an LLC is just be a pass through entity, so income will be treated the same as self employment, unless you elect to have it taxed as either s or c Corp.
What election to take really comes down to how much money the company makes.
