Vecsey caused a firestorm of controversy after he used a Notorius B.I.G. lyric containing the N-word to comment on a scuffle during the Knicks game against the Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden Monday night.
Early in the first quarter LeBron James got tangled up with point guard Frank Ntilikina, resulting in Enes Kanter quickly coming to his point guard’s defense.
Vecsey applauded Kanter’s fearlessness for not backing down from James. However, rather than tweet out “Good job Kanter,” or “Wow! Gotta love Kanter’s toughness there,” the longtime sports columnist decided to tweet an explicit lyric containing the N-word from the song “N----s Bleed” by the late rapper Notorius B.I.G.
LeBron James is right about the Knicks, and they know it
“Like Kanter is gonna 2B intimidated by LeBron, guy who stood up 2 Tayyip Erdogan. Imagine him being scared of a n***** who breathes the same air as him,” Vecsey wrote.
The play Vecsey commented on occurred early in the first quarter.
Following a dunk by James, Ntilikina attempted to retrieve the ball and shoved the four-time MVP who was in his way, resulting in James crowding the rookie point guard and getting in his face. Kanter then quickly came to Ntilikina’s defense, interjecting himself between the two. Kanter and James then exchanged words inches from one another before James shoved Kanter to the side.
Courtney Lee and officials then intervened and broke up the scuffle before it could escalate any further.

Kuzma is going to be a problem in this league. Clearly the best rookie on the squad.
Lonzo has tools, but his confidence in his shot appears to be non existent and he has a LOT of mental lapses, especially on defense. Some of this stuff may be able to be fixed but he needs A LOT of work.
Embiid is really a generational talent, but his ass needs to chill with all the damn turnovers.
Simmons once he develops a consistent jumper will be one of the top all around players in the league. His feel for the game is ridiculous
