Nice! .308?
Pre-Ban IWI Galil![]()
Just saw on the news that N. Korea launched some kinda missile similar to nuclear and then our president said something at G20 about it..
I see a situation similar to others prior to war.... or cold war.
Rack up, bredren!

One and the same.More worried about crazy white people over here my man
More worried about crazy white people over here my man
Explains the NRA videos...they're trying to scare people to ramp up sales
and it's also why I can go to Walmart now and find hollow points. When O was in office I couldn't even find basic brass for the range sometimes.

Adding to the bolt gun collection...FN SPR A1 .308 Sniper Rifle
![]()
Yes! and Yes! Trying differnt optics, but I have gotten 1" groups or less @ 200yards.Do you own this? Would you recommend it?
Was thinking the same thing.Lets talk optics, what are you running?
So everyone should have a bolt gun?Yes! and Yes! Trying differnt optics, but I have gotten 1" groups or less @ 200yards.
I think so...for long range shooting, a heavy barreled bolt action rifle is nearly impossible to beat.So everyone should have a bolt gun?
In .308? Up to what distance?I think so...for long range shooting, a heavy barreled bolt action rifle is nearly impossible to beat.
.308 - Out to 1000. Passed that I would step up to .338 Lapua. Lots of people like the 6.5 Creedmore and the 243 round, but they are modified .308 rounds. Not much distance gain, but flatter shooting. .308 is cheaper and easy to find and reload. In .308? Up to what distance?
Any other caliber suggestions?
So everyone should have a bolt gun?
Yes. One in .22lr and one in .308.......
Most bolt guns are very reliable and accurate. Almost like a revolver, it is hard to go wrong with most manufacturers. I would start with a .22lr or a .17hmr to start with. Easy to train with and learn ballistics like spin drift and bullet drop. Then maybe move up to a .223 or a Mosin Nagant to learn longer distance shooting Any of these can be bought for less than $500 and can be resold for near full value or kept for SHTF / backup weapons.I dont know anything about bolt guns, where do I start as far as manufacturers, reliability, simple to operate, etc.
I try to invest in platforms that can be passed down/around easily & used by different persons effectively
IMHO, remington 700 or the browning A bolt or X bolt action is a good start for a reasonable price. these are the rifles that are the basic platforms for a lot of police/military sniper rifles, known for accuracy and durability.I dont know anything about bolt guns, where do I start as far as manufacturers, reliability, simple to operate, etc.

I think I'ma go with the 700, I see a threaded one in .308 for $850Remington 700
Savage .22/.308
Ruger 10/22
CZ 455
All of which have an almost cult following. You can easily go down the rabbit hole and throw $100's of dollars at any of these platforms.....
If you go with the Remington 700 (one of the most popular hunting rifles in the US) I'd suggest that you *immediately* replace the trigger.I think I'ma go with the 700, I see a threaded one in .308 for $850
