2017 CHICAGO BEARS Off-Season Thread

I mean to have good receivers, don't you need a good QB first?

Who have been our best receivers, Brandon, Moose and Alshon :dunno: Our receivers haven't even been that great.

To put things in perspective, Alshon was a season or a healthy 2016 from being our all time leading receiver with just over 5,000 yards. That's pitiful when receivers are routinely getting over 1,500 yards in a season.

Glennon just threw a pick 6 first possession :smh::smh:

from pro bowlers B.Marshall & Alshon combo threats
to WRs who arent good route runners and cant get separation:smh::smh::smh:
Jury is still out on glennon, he reminds me of a taller Kyle Orton.

Main improvement i want to see is from the defense.

Glennon looks like shit.Ive never been impressed and tonight didnt help.

Defensive looks pretty good man.Very deep, gettin to the QB and we playin w/o Trevathan, McPhee & Houston.

...Trubisky in now..

Glennon is ass. Jury isn't out.

Glennon has a one year deal. I don't really care other than I didn't see the point of getting him when we were going to move up for a QB.

Waste of money IMO. Could have gone to someone else in a position of need, like a pass rusher.

Told yall.... wait till home boi plays.

Yea it was against the 2s and 3s.
Yea it was just one game
But he is going to be a very solid QB. He will be the best we have ever had.
Sky is the limit but I honestly don't think the Bears have the staff to really develop him.

WRs will come to Chicago when they see Trubisky can ball.

Glennon was going against a top 3 DEF. I want to see him this week for a full half.

Agree with all of the above.

You're right it was against twos and threes, but don't forget he was also playing WITH twos and threes. Imagine him with the help of the first-team offense and reps. Regardless, he came in and did what he was supposed to do: execute, look more than competent and played hungry. He's clearly the most talented quarterback on the roster right now.

This next game in Arizona will be interesting man. 10p Sat ima be there like
If Glennon unravels and looks like shit again I feel sorry for his mutha.

Torn ACL; just announced. Horrible for that dude; was another season away from a decent payday.

yea. he was the #1 this year. He did great last year. If he wouldve did good this year, they wouldve paid him, imho. But now, coming off a ACL injury....:smh:

Bears would probably be looking in the draft or free agency for a #1 UNLESS Kevin White finally shows up this year.

White is the #1 now. 6'3", still got some speed. Just has to stay healthy and prove his draft position. Kendall, Cruz and Wheaton (whose im waiting to see play) will fill in around him. Kendall has looked good so far.

Both QB's have played decent. The rookie has played better, but imho, he aint ready for a full time role. Owning a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers doesnt mean u ready to play vs 1st stringers for a full game. Our OL being much improved will hide both QB's flaws. But still, I dont know if the rookie is ready yet.

I have little faith in White. Even today, dropped a pass that, even though PI was called on the rookie a Tennessee corner from USC, a number one wide receiver should make.

A long year got longer today IMO. Meredith was shaping up to be the real deal; even the catch he got hurt on he caught in over the middle traffic.

I know, but over the last two years he's played a total of 4 reg season games on a short snap count. Add these 2 preseason games, whereas he played no more than 2 quarters, he has a lot of rust. Imho, even tho he had skill prior to his injuries, that much time away from football can knock u off rhythm.

He's never played vs good corners, never ran many NFL routes, had to study two?? separate offenses in his two years (we flip through OC's like hoes flip thru tricks). He has to rebuild his talent and confidence. He's basically still a rookie. Needs time to catch up.

White is our tallest WR. After him is cruz at 6'. But they dont see to be too fond of him. The Bears better have a better offensive game plan this year. If they plan on running Jordan Howard into the ground because Meredith is gone, they could regret it in the future.

Considering our schedule (85% vs teams that could easily make the playoffs), I think we're a 7-8 win team this year. This year will be more about growth and evaluations than a SB chase.

Shit, go back to the early 90s and look. The Bears 1st rounders are littered with busts and never lived up to the hype players. Only really hit on Urlacher and Tommi Harris before he got hurt.:smh:
