Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

Someone explain the importance of that damn dagger:please:
That was the same dagger that the assassin tried to use on Bran in season 1. And in the first episode of this season there is a quick shot of Sam researching dragon glass. On one of the pages, there a description and picture of the dagger and it looked like it said something like it was made by Aegon during the first takeover of Westero. That's why Bran asked Little Finger if he knew who made the dagger.

It might have come up earlier in the thread and I missed it, but who thinks those scorpion spears are poison tipped? Like I said in an earlier post, there's no reason for any dragon being ridden by Danny to get hit with another direct shot while in the air by one of those spears. Therefore, there has to be some significance to the main dragon being shot now. It has to be more than "lesson learned". If the dragon is poisoned, especially with a high dose of that sand snake poison, it's out of commission for good or dead soon (and possibly raised by the night king). Qyburn didn't call it "scorpion" for nothing.

That would be epic! It will level the playing field a lot more in the bullshit Cersei war but also with the REAL war coming up. Plus, Drogo - who Drogon was named after - was also poisoned up. Then the Night King will have him - like we saw in the poster.

That shit would fuck me up tho... I really like that motherfucker... see how he was flying below radar over the lake??? Gaawwwwddddd DAMN!!!

Someone explain the importance of that damn dagger:please:

It has both a symbolic importance and an actual importance.

As a symbol, it's the instrument used to start the whole war of the Five Kings when it was used in the attempt on Bran's life. The fact that it's come full circle back to Bran just as he emerges back on the board gives it some extra symbolic "juice"

As an actual weapon it's pretty unique. Not only does it have a Valyrian steel (dragonfire) blade but it has a dragon bone hilt as well. So it's an extremely unique and powerful weapon in the hands of an expertly trained fighter (Arya). I definitely see a few people and White Walkers taking an L from that blade

@Simply Sickenin' thanks! Listening to the post episode reviews, folks are talking like the dagger is the missing ingredient for something major. I do recall it always being tied to Littlefinger so it might be the tool of his death.

Your comment also made me think about Valaryia. For all we know, there could be unknow troves of weapons and armor made of Valaryian steel but that city was infested like 28 Days/Racoon City but come to think of it...HOW is it full of people with Gray Scale (that's where Jorry was infected while with Tyrion correct) when that continent fell generations ago?

Episode 2 showed us that at least in Westeros, anyone who catches Greyscale is sent to the ruins of Old Valyria by the Maesters. Perhaps they do the same in Essos as well. Although to me, it would be simpler to just kill them, but maybe the disease is still contagious after death

Season one didn't move me either. I didn't start watching again until I just happened to catch a show several seasons in from not changing that channel. I tend to like happy endings and wasn't prepared for favorite characters to get murked. I've downloaded all the books, I just haven't read any of them. I'm thinking of getting the audio books.

If you like movies like 300, Gladiator, Braveheart which have EPIC BATTLE scenes.... you are gonna LOVE Game of Thrones.

Every season, the large-scale battles get more & more EPIC... as the stakes get higher & higher, for everyone involved.

Season 1 is actually the slowest season, in terms of pacing... but the climax is usually episode 9... and it always finishes with a BANG in episode 10.

Also, one of the best things about the show is seeing the deep 'character progression' over several years.
The Stark Kids grow up right in front of your eyes. By the time you reach season 7... they are definitely NOT the same kids from season 1. :smh:

If you're not feeling it by now, then you definitely won't get into it. You have to pay attention to every character, conversation, and plot move. You'll have characters who you might overlook who come back a couple of seasons later and you'll be like "who the fuck is that?" For example, I didn't even pay attention to Walder Frey in Season 1 and what was said about him, but by Season 3 he becomes a major character. Also, you'll definitely get lost with Daenerys' storyline in Season 2. Maybe not as lost as Flawless' ADHD-having ass is, but close to it.

Thanks for all the feedback. Definitely gonna stick with it.

Ironic, how Khaleesi hit Jon Snow... with the very same line that Jon Snow hit Mance Rayder with. :D

Mance: "My people won't accept a Southern Ruler." :smh:
Jon: "Isn't THEIR survival... more important than YOUR pride?" :hmm:

Jon: "My people won't accept a Southern Ruler." :smh:
Dany: "Isn't THEIR survival... more important than YOUR pride? :hmm:

That's Priceless. :D

Dany makes it sound like she's doing a favor for Jon by saving the north from the Walkers when in fact Jon is trying to save the whole continent. What makes her think the Walkers are only going to attack the north? ...or am I missing something

So who saved Jamie from turning into toast?

Peace,

Probably Bronn or Dickon.

It was Bron, If you go back and watch when Bron jumps off the scorpion to avoid the dragon fire, they show him getting up and looking at a white horse not far away from him. Then in the scene where Jamie is charging at Danny you can see whoever flew in to push Jamie out the way was also on a white horse. Also wasn't wearing armor either, so it was definitely Bron.

Side Note: I'm beginning to think Dickon is going to play a bigger role in things to come. They gave him a decent amount of screen time and some meaningful lines for a minor character in episodes 4. He's also one of the many characters who qualifies as a "little brother" on the show.

Peace,

I'm surprised Bran doesn't have Little-Finger killed. He has to know finger betrayed his father and that he set Sansa up with Ramsay.

...or maybe he sees that finger has a bigger role to play

He's not Bran anymore. Or Lord Stark. He's beyond all that petty shit now and only concerned with protecting the world from the Night King.

Umm no, Little Finger told Ned he had a dumb idea from the start. Also Ned was never suppose to die, rewatch episode 1 and you will everyone's response was oh shit wtf did Jeoffery just do, even Cersei was like wtf.

But thats the thing though. He is no where near the worst person on the show. Plus if you hate the Starks like I do that Bran window shit doesn't even bother you.

It was Jamie's "Vic Mackey" moment. On the shield first episode Vic kills a fellow cop. But from then on does nothing even close to that bad the rest of the series.

Plus if you think about it he should be more likable to us then Tyrion.

His whole Storyline with Brin.
He is not a coward and has honor.
He freed Tyrion.
And Bron told him something I would never forget:

"You know I wasn't Tyrions first choice, he named you his champion. Cause he knew you would ride day and night to come defend him"

^^^^That is the Jamie I see.

We see the one banging out his sister and is ride or die for one of the craziest, most ruthless people on the show who pretty much hates everyone but him.

the general consensus is bronn...I'm still not 100% sure tho
I think it's Bronn. After he got up from miraculously not being burned, he looked right at a white horse. I'm assuming he jumped on it, and rode over in that direction. I'm rewatching it right now, and thats what it looks like.

Wow, you really haven't been paying close attention to Arya's storyline, at all. :smh:

Arya been training & practicing ALL KINDS OF SHIT for over 6+ years now.
  • She learned how to use a Bow from Sir Roderick Cassel (The Master-at-Arms at Winterfell)
  • She learned Swordplay & some 'Water Dancing' from Syrio Forel (in Kings Landing)
  • She learned how to fight in Total Darkness from Jaqen H'ghar (while Blind in Braavos)
  • She learned about various Poisons & Assassination Techniques from Jaqen H'ghar (in Braavos)
  • She learned how to use a Staff + advanced Hand-to-Hand Combat Skills with The Waif (in Braavos)
  • She learned the 'deepest secrets' of the Faceless Men. (that ALONE is something that very few people have achieved)
  • She learned some (Expert-level) Archery Skills from Anguy (while with The Brotherhood Without Banners)
  • She learned how to STRATEGIZE FOR WAR from Tywin Lannister (while at Harrenhal)
  • She learned how to BE A BRUTALLY VICIOUS KILLER from The Hound (in multiple cities across Westeros)
And she been PRACTICING ALL THIS DIFFERENT SHIT... For YEARS.

Shheeeiiiitt... Look at the "company she's been keeping" for the last 7 seasons.
She been hanging out with THE MOST SAVAGE KILLERS........ ALL OVER Westeros. For YEARS now

You think she only been at it for just a few months?? :dunno:
You think she 'learned nothing at all'?? :dunno:

C'mon Son.

It's definitely 'about time' that all that stuff 'comes together' for her character.

"face, tits, balls...I hit them where I wanted to"

Ya girl is ruthless...

Someone needs to make a gif of Drogon flying low and just above the water. That shit looked AMAZING.
She flew it in like a C5....that can spit fire.
:eek2:

Me thinks she is impressed with Jon.
She wants him to bend the knee so she can propose marriage.
