Prodigy of Mobb Deep died by choking on an egg in the hospital, according to a report.

Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy's cause of death has been revealed as accidental choking, the Clark County coroner's office confirmed to the Daily News, and reports suggest the culprit was an egg.

The hip-hop star, who had battled sickle cell anemia since birth, had been hospitalized with complications from the condition for several days in Las Vegas prior to his death June 20.

It was in the hospital that he choked on an egg, according to TMZ.

The 42-year-old rapper, whose real name was Albert Johnson, was pulled out of a meet-and-greet with fans in the city before his hospitalization, as the heat reportedly made his condition worse.

Prodigy made a name for himself in the early '90s alongside his musical partner Havoc. Together as Mobb Deep, the two released multiple hit albums and boasted several popular songs, including "Shook Ones (Part II)."

The group's eighth and final album, "The Infamous Mobb Deep," came in 2014.

He was laid to rest in New York June 29 in a star-studded private service that featured appearances from 50 Cent, LL Cool J and Ice T.

Damn, almost two months later to find out he died of choking on an egg? This just makes me feel worse.

You don't see the awesomeness in a guy who spent 20 years racking up death in his music dying because he thought he was a pelican, and he could swallow an egg whole?

Condolences to his family and friends.

Had a scary incident with someone experiencing a severe choking episode back in the day. Woman in her late-60s choking on baked ham & scalloped potatoes. Just before Christmas and she ran off in embarassment to cough in privacy and someone noticed her as they were coming off the elevator & yelled for assistance. I provided the Heimlich maneuver and she was fighting it off & also voiding (pissing herself) at the same time ... called 911 and the phone reception was bad and had to switch phones & have someone take over the call as I tended to her entirely & wasn't distracted ... paramedics came and tried their techniques and were having trouble too as the food was still lodged ... they were finally able to dislodge the food in the ambulance en route to the hospital using a hook/suction-type device as other techniques were NOT working. They were trying techniques with her standing, seated, and laying on her side prior to her getting to the ambulance. She survived. Very difficult having to contact her family that evening as she was supposed to be en route there to see her kids & grandkids. They rushed to see her at the hospital and fortunately things turned out ok and they were appreciative. I made sure to give praise to everyone involved ... the person alerting us coming off the elevator (as she tried to get on to go up) ... the person helping clear the area so I could safely do the Heimlich without chairs and tables nearby ... the person taking over the phone call & providing clear, concise information as to what was happening ... her state ... our location & waving down the emergency services. Scary how things can go wrong in a matter of seconds.

More than 5,000 People Died from Choking in 2015. According to Injury Facts 2017,choking is the fourth leading cause of unintentional injury death. ... Food is often responsible for choking incidents in the elderly. Living alone, and having dentures or difficulty swallowing can increase risk.
