I WISH I had the right script to make both Denzel and Wesley sign on the dotted line but its just something I almost forgot about. If Denzel could give his VAST talents to Tony Scott for fair use in subpar action fare, then I have NO idea why he wouldn't do something unique with Snipes.

There has to be script out there to draw them both in. A script wit two leads that isn't dictated by their skin color. Two black leads would be great for us and with the right amount of white co-stars it could work for the mainstream! Black Panther is the first of its kind in many ways. Its just ironic that Snipes wa the one that originally wanted to do it. I thought for sure that he would be cast as T'Challa's father but when that didn't happen, I was like oh well... maybe something else can be in the works.

If I wrote Denzel as The Heavy and Snipes as the Protagonist. That would be a switch. I don't know if he would do that again but he should, last time he got an Oscar for it. Cruise is another one I would write as a badguy - his performance in Collateral was amazing! Cold fucking blooded killer.

All three of them together would be... Oscar bait... you got me thinking now. No comfort zone.

i posted his alien movie. i watched it. and even that movie was good. he produced it. f he gets money behind him he is not going to disappoint.

EXACTLY. That's what I was thinking. He got 2 or 3 B movie trailers on cable right now. I'm like where and when did these flicks even come out? That's because they are low grade rentals (or streams now) and not features.

That's a waste for man of his caliber and his skills. People forget that Snipes went to an art school and is a Thespian at heart.

But would you rather have them hire the best actor available (whether light or dark) or hire the most talented actor to portray the role?

I see the point you're making but unless Mouse's appearance is somehow relevant to the character or the story itself I don't think Cheadle being cast matters.

Also you have to consider that there aren't a lot of black actors to choose from anyway and there were even less at the time this movie was made so finding a brother who matched the physical description described in the book that also had the talent pull off the role may have been difficult.

I hear that. I know the pool of black actors (especially when the movie was made) was slim but I felt Mouse’s appearance would’ve been important to get right. He was meant to be a charming pretty boy with short man syndrome.

I guess for me when I read books I expect the casting directors to try and get the characters as close to as they described in the book as possible.

It just felt like they chose anyone black and to hell with how they’re meant to look.

I haven’t watched the interview but they miscast Mouse in the movie. In the books Mouse was meant to be light skinned with grey eyes if my memory serves me correctly. In the movie, they put Don Cheadle as Mouse.

Now Don is a great actor but I can’t stand lazy casting that doesn’t stay true to the characters.

Don Cheadle absolutely NAILED the character of Mouse......to the point elwhere nobody else can play the role
