Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

man ive had sia for so damn long shit!
there's just too many coins man but we gotta go in on only a couple

I'm hoping one of the main joints I'm vested in can go below 20 cents...

STRAT ANS WAVES LSK UBQ KMD

lol I crossed out the ones that are extremely wishful thinking tho

ones that can realistically hit $0.20 or less tho is ARK/QRL...I'd rack up on those if they go down that low

yea id buy back in on more ark i got in at 20 cents so i haven't bought anymore cause it hasn't been below 20 cents.
there's a few im keeping an eye on but you just don't want to guess wrong that's my only fear. if i had 100k to throw at this shit id just put 10k into the 10 best projects and say fuck it.

I'm str8 on Sia the circulation is way too high. Outside of that have any of you actually tried to use the service? Yeah it's only $2 but the user has to buy Bitcoin then exchange it for Siacoin then purchase it. Then when your Sia gets low you have to do it again. Just seems way too cumbersome just to save a few bucks over Dropbox.

Not to mention the space is hella competitive. How will they be able to compete with monoliths like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon who have a ton of marketshare, consumer trust, and bundle cloud service with services we naturally use. I know Sia is way more secure but do people care? Dropbox is a sieve from a security standpoint yet they have almost 50% marketshare.

Don't get me wrong I think it's cool for a quick flip because it's a community behind it and an actual real service. I'm just saying it's a long road ahead for them to get to $.50-1.00 range like a lot of people are hoping. They see a cheap coin with good tech and think $$$

I'm also keeping $$$ around too for if they make a new bitcoin that's cheap as hell when/if they make the split...in a case like that I'd def go all in

that too.
but if you in GOOD coins right now and you are just a little bit underwater while the market cap is at sub 70b
just imagine how good your investments are going to be with it at 150b???

Yeah every other coin has gone on a run so that's what I am banking on. Yes they have a lot of comp and you are correct very cumbersome but just because McDonald's sells burgers doesn't mean you can't sell any.

ive been preaching get out of shit coins for a month now.
look every coin is going to be taking a hit no coin is bullet proof.
what you want to see is your coin fight back
like my coins fight back they don't fully recover but they be fighting back.

just hold on man hold on don't buy anything but be a window shopper.

and then when that 150b come in be apart of that 1st billion that comes in

Holy shit fam..... you lost 35 stacks in the last few months ??? :eek2::eek2::eek2:

More like around $30k, I withdrew around $5-6k so far. But when XRP hit it's high point I was at $45k, I withdrew and FOMO made me think it was gonna go higher so I bought back in within a few seconds and it dropped. At around 30 cents I had about $25k, withdrew over time $5-6k; which left me at $19-20k. My dumb ass gave a pump and dump group a shot, they released the name of the coin and in that instant as soon as I got to the page I started buying.. 1 BTC, then another BTC.. only to notice after a few seconds that it was already at the high of the pump.. This was within 30 seconds of the coin's name being announced in the group. Ended up selling at a loss. Also bought a few coins for 1 BTC that ended up dropping and never going back up, sold for a loss again. Brought my total down to $15k. And now with the fall of the market, I'm sitting at $10,800. SMH.. As displeased as I am, I'm actually considering taking $1-2k and trying penny stocks as well, but I'll be waiting until after August before doing any of that. Want to wait for the prices to go back up.

I think stratis is going to get all the way to below $2...well I hope so.

you're def on to something...I'm looking @ charts for a few coins and the market as a whole...and it seems to be "resetting" to that 2 week period in may from 5/16-5/30 right before the market started to explode...if it goes lower than that prices are gonna be phenomenal

QRL was at $2.11 if it could hit that # again with a .30 cent buy in.. :dance2:

I was wondering if anyone else was holding QRL. I didn't see it mentioned. I must of got in late. I don't remember QRL ever being that high, since I bought some and started following it more closely.
On another note MCO has dropped pretty hard since its debut on Bittrex. I believe they got a card on the horizon. So, it maybe a good time to jump in.

I'm still on the fence about QRL...but if I have extra $$$ after getting what I really want first I'd def throw some @ QRL
I bought QRL as one of those LONG term holds. I trying to find long term coins and I thought this maybe one of them.

bills was big on it earlier in the thread...I jumped in on his recommendation @ about $0.70 ...seen it hit $2+ ...sold it when it started threatening to dip below $1

I remember somewhere we where talking about the difference between coins/currencies...assets...platforms...tokens etc...I am reading a thread on bitcointalk and really like how this poster classifies everything...he didn't go into detail about "tech stock" but those are the coins I like to invest in...the ones that other coins depend on/will need to depend on due to the tech they offer...anyway he breaks everything down into 4 types of 'stocks'

You should classify what your own investing priorities are first:

• monetary stock (backed or pseudo backed)
• monetary stock (unbacked)
• technology stock
• equity stock

They all have different characteristics.

Monetary Stock (Backed or Pseudo backed)
For example, a new monetary stock (backed or pseudo backed) can deliver incredible returns very quickly because its capitalisation is largely derived from existing value (in the way that a company get venture capital injected). Ripple and NEM have effectively had their blockchains capitalised largely by speculation over adoption by the existing banking sector.

On the other hand the value can drain straight back out of those type of stocks as soon as the 'pseudo backers' disappear and decide they want something else. (I use the term 'pseudo backers' because even though they may not directly capitalise the blockchain token themselves, the fact that they are deploying it as a corporate service attracts lots of 3rd party capital).

Monetary Stock (Unbacked)
Unbacked monetary stocks are base layer tokens who's sole economic archetype is either a store of value or some kind of cash equivalent. Historically, these grow slower but have more longevity. If you look down the top 35 on coinmarketcap.com, there are only a small number:

• Bitcoin
• Litecoin
• Dash
• Monero
• Bytecoin
• Dogecoin
• PIVX
• Peercoin

Equity Stocks
Here there are 2 broad categories: Blockchains based on base equity archetypes (e.g. Bitshares) and layer 2 equity stocks (Ethereum meta tokens).

Most of the Ethereum meta tokens are basically decentralised companies (DAO's). So you have to do research on the company and the business model to decide if you think it has legs or not.

The base layer equity models are scarce. Bitshares is almost unique in that it is a blockchain that derives its value from BOTH the short side AND the long side of its trade. In fact these two markets benefit each other because as the demand for 'stable currency' in the unbacked digital asset economy increases, the value of THE UNSTABLE RISK ASSET element of Bitshares increases. In other words, it's meeting the market that Tether is currently serving but Bitshares is doing it trustlessly.

So that's it !...

• Pseudo Backed Monetary assets are safe havens as long as the fiat system is healthy (Ripple, NEM, STR)
• Unbacked Monetary assets are safe havens but deliver slower returns (BTC, LTC, DASH, XMR, PPC, Doge etc)
• Technology assets deliver massive returns but can be dropped like a hot brick (ETH, Tezor, Lisk etc)
• Base layer crypto assets are dependent on the crypto-sector taking off but if it does will probably skyrocket as a derivatives platform (BTS)
• Meta layer Equity models (Ethereum assets) are the new dotcom bubble. Make money but make sure you take a parachute

...here is the full thread...they are discussing the next "bitcoin" or "ethereum" meaning not coins that function like them or better but coins that could have the same effect these leading two have due to how innovative they are to the industry...it's bitcointalk tho so the conversation sometimes degrades to ppl just simply shilling coins they're invested in...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1924561.0

a name that was thrown out was radix...know nothing about them...they don't have a coin out or an upcoming ICO...seems like a startup to keep an eye on

just fucking around and looked @ coins that have performed steadily in the top 50ish range that are close to matching or have dropped less than the price they were @ right before shit jumped off in june...also looked @ their previous highs in june...and also took into account how long they were able to sustain those highs or near those highs...

cloakcoin ($0.40) x30 (not realistic...will probably never see such a low buy-in again)

antshares ($0.50) x22 (see above)

digibyte ($0.003) x20

ubiq ($0.25) x 11

siacoin ($0.002) x10

bitshares ($0.05) x9

komodo ($0.30) x8

lisk ($0.50) x8

stratis ($1.25) x8

ark ($0.20) x6

nxt ($0.04) x5

waves ($1.34) x5

...are looking like good coins to jump into ESPECIALLY when/if they go lower if they are able to rebound and match their previous highs when/if the market recovers...these are top 50ish coins that have proven to have staying power

*edit*

I put what I believe to be realistic/optimal "entry" points in parentheses although none of this shit is predictable...it could go way lower than that :dunno: my favorite is bitshares
