Man, I want this to work. I have never cared for the Lakers,
but I intend to be a fan this year. This is not as much for Lonzo
as it is for LaVar. I want that black man to succeed, especially
given the hateful naysaying that has been arrayed against
him by cacs....

I think he was nervous... Lonzo is an excellent shooter...
and does not normally clank so many threes... I think
he should've passed more, and the game would have opened
up for him... On the other hand, if you have no one to
convert your passes, the game might not open up for you

It's his first game in the summer league, give him some time.
The thing is, his shooting form limits his shooting opportunities. He needs to change that, because the margin for error is slimmer in the league. Players can close out on you like a cat.
People study tape on you. And they'll know his tendencies and limitations. I hope he can turn it around, but that form . . .

It ain't the same when everybody just as athletic as you. And looks like he's the only high pick that had a horrendous 1st game
Besides his shooting he played a decent game.
He is going to have to hit the weights and get stronger because he is light.
He also got to get in better shape, he was walking the ball up the court far too much.

He was making them. Dominating his circuits. But it's a new tier now. He's going to have to adapt somehow. If he does, with that shot, he's a genius.
But is it too late to change? And if he does change, how consistent will his shot be?

I don't think so. But I don't know for sure. That's an awkward shot at the pro level. And I've seen some. Wayne Turner in college. But he had a floater.
They'll give it a season and see what happens. After that, if he's rendered a shooting liability, he'll have to IMO. The good thing is that he's taller.
That is what impressed me about him. His confidence never swayed and he was not chucking. The shots he missed where good looks for him. I liked that he was confident to take the shot.
I think so. It's second nature by now. He can work on a better form, but he's got years of reps with that funky looking shot. He'd be better off getting better with the form he has now.

The biggest thing if he changed his form is what form will he use when situations are a little more stressful and you have to rely on your basketball ability. Will he revert back to what's comfortable?

I'll take that combo over this. But this way may work out for him. I don't see how, but he's a smart dude, maybe he'll get it to work.
What ever happened to..just shut up and let your game do the talking? That's the ball family problem. Too much yada yada. Now for me as a 76er fan Fultz is impressive..the kid scored what 23 i think in his first game and 3 blocks.. blocks in a pg? PG these days rarely block anything.

And he was the only 1 of the top picks that had a terrible game. But this is the pressure his loud mouth dad put on him.One summer league game .
its funny i hear you guys say, let him use his athleticism, I remember when the celtics drafted marcus smart. I was wondering why he didn't come out the gate dunking on cats like D wade he could not get any seperation and get rejected at the Rim, my point is college explosive does not equal nba .Problem is the nba everybody is extremely athletic, you need way more than just been athletic. I am worried about the kids feel for the game. I washed Fox play for the suns, I was able to get his feel for the game had certain ways he attacked the basket, his floaters where on point. I do not see any part of balls game that i like. His passes are overrated if you can't do anything else.

I mean his pops antics aside... It looked like a dude that hadn't balled in awhile playing ball with an off J... But he kept shooting, which to me may signal he's got more Kobe in him than Magic. That's what got my interest.
