NBA offseason 2016-2017...NBA offseason best in sports....This offseason is lit to the 3rd degree!!

Yep... I just realize fam, sometimes Dudes just post to get their thread count up is all... Funny actually :D

Yup. We often talk shit but talking down on reddicm shooting is laughable...

Philly wanted a shooter and then for one of he best pernt blank. They was hot on JR tail last summer, so they final got what they been lacking.

I was wondering what was the basis for this...lavar got interviewed recently in philly and was asked to respond to the embiid/simmons tweets...

Lavar’s response:

“When you don’t win, and don’t even make the playoffs, and don’t even stay on the court long enough, that’s the best thing you can do – is tweet and make some stuff,” Ball said. “Ain’t nobody else doing that, because they’re working on their games in the gym. These guys ain’t played a game, always hurt, and [are] at the bottom of the totem pole. So guess what? Get your ass off the goddamn Tweeter, and get in the gym.”

Lavar continued to say..

“Add their games up and see how they turn the program around. LSU (where Simmons attended) wasn’t turned around, they’re great players. They’re good, they made it to the NBA, they’re good kids that can play,” Ball said. “Both of ’em played in college and didn’t uplift their team. I ain’t got nothing against Fultz, that boy can play, but if you really that good, your team gotta go at least .500 if you got a bunch of blind midgets.”

Well shit....Lavar was speaking truth........I don't mind these guys on Twitter but I do wonder how and why Simmons and Embiid kind of be flexing on the Ball family especially on draft night. And the crazy shit is......I hear more about Embid saying something stupid 0n Twitter than I do about him in the league.

:roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2: My nigga Jo-Jo. Embiid gonna go off this year cause of that Little league parent on steroids. Good to see some tension in this bitch ass league today.

ya there was a thread about their initial tweets and that was the general consensus esp. @ ben simmons who hadn't even played a game yet...seems like pure jealousy on his part...ball will have the year that simmons should've had last year

I mentioned the tweets that started it...or are you saying it goes back further than that?

Was this before the draft...i saw some tweet from draft night and thought it started then.
I must say now I'm thinking about it, u post probably game before the draft.

Right......Simmons hasn't even played a fucking game despite being drafted already.....Embid....shit he's been in the league a few years and hasn't even played 40 games yet.....

they are in no position to be arrogant or flexing. They think because they got prospects that their team just gonna show up and win games........

ya the draft nite tweets is what started it...that was mentioned

The 2016-17 season saw two teams, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Clippers pay a combined $28M in tax penalties. Five teams, Cleveland, Golden State, Portland, Toronto and Washington (if the Otto Porter sheet is matched) have combined for $115M through the first four days of free agency. Ironically each of those 5 teams retained their core players and did not add an impact player from a different team. The tax bill will certainly increase during the summer.

Ok... I remember posting that here.

I thought it could've been the Ball family might've went to Philly for a per draft visit and pops was asked a question and replied with what u post, then during the draft Bennie and Embryo tweeted...

What’s next for the Miami Heat? A look at their free-agent options after missing out on Gordon Hayward

The Miami Heat’s James Johnson and Goran Dragic, left, greet Dion Waiters (11) as they lead in the fourth quarter against the Charlotte Hornets at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. The Heat won, 108-101. (Pedro Portal/El Nuevo Herald/TNS)

MIAMI — Time for the Heat to turn to Plan B.

After putting the full-court press on sought-after free-agent forward Gordon Hayward, Miami will now turn its attention elsewhere.Hayward announced his decision to sign with the Celtics on Tuesday night, choosing Boston over Miami and incumbent Utah.

The Heat are now expected to focus on their own free agents with Dion Waiters and James Johnson still on the market. With other teams also expressing interest in Waiters and Johnson now that the Hayward domino has fallen, Miami will have to move fast.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, the Knicks continue to speak with Waiters and the Lakers are also interested in him. There have been no reports of any free-agent meetings involving Johnson, but the Salt Lake Tribune reported early Wednesday morning that “the Jazz and free agent forward James Johnson have mutual interest.”

Miami has about $35 million in cap space after the Tuesday waiving of Chris Bosh, which should be more than enough to bring back Waiters and Johnson. But how much of that money are the Heat willing to invest in them? Length of contract will be another interesting part of negotiations, as Miami could push for short-term contracts to have as much financial flexibility as possible moving forward.

Even if the majority of that cap space is used to retain Johnson and Waiters as expected, there should be some money remaining to sign another mid-level free agent or two.

Some of that remaining space could go toward retaining Wayne Ellington. The Heat must decide by Friday whether to guarantee Ellington’s $6.3 million salary for the 2017-18 season or waive him and make him available for any team to claim at that price.

The Heat’s other free agents are center Willie Reed, and forwards Luke Babbitt and Udonis Haslem.

Reed, who served as a quality backup to center Hassan Whiteside last season, is still available and is open to returning to the Heat. But he has received interest from the 76ers, Pacers, Rockets and Hawks, according to HoopsHype, and it’s unknown how much Miami is willing to pay Reed after drafting big man Bam Adebayo in the first round.

“I love Miami and I’d love to be back there, but I understand it’s a business,” Reed said to HoopsHype. “I also have a family. I signed for the minimum there last year; it was a two-year deal, and I felt I had a good enough season to opt out. Now, I have an opportunity to take care of my family after being in the D-League and overseas for multiple years. This is an opportunity for me to make sure my family is set for life. If Miami can provide that opportunity, I’d be more than happy to be back there.”

As for Babbitt, he’s the only incumbent free agent the Heat can exceed the $99 million salary cap to re-sign. Because the Heat acquired Babbitt in a trade last summer, they have his Bird rights and could go over the cap beyond his $1.5 million cap hold to bring him back. If the Heat need to eliminate Babbitt’s cap hold to create space, re-signing him on the veteran minimum is another realistic possibility.

Although Haslem is still on the market, he’s expected to re-sign with the Heat on the NBA veteran minimum contract worth about $2.3 million once the roster is filled out later in free agency. The 37-year-old is preparing for his 15th NBA season, with the first 14 seasons all coming with Miami.

The Heat currently have nine players under contract for the 2017-18 season: Hassan Whiteside ($23.8 million), Goran Dragic ($17 million), Josh McRoberts ($6 million), Tyler Johnson ($5.9 million), Justise Winslow ($2.7 million), Josh Richardson ($1.5 million), Rodney McGruder ($1.3 million), Okaro White ($1.3 million) and Adebayo ($2.5 million).

The Heat also have the $4.3 million room exception and the $3.3 million bi-annual exception, but they can’t use both of them. Teams that use the room exception can’t use the bi-annual exception, so that leaves Miami with just the $4.3 million room exception this summer and it can’t be combined with cap space.

Miami can also look at outside free-agent options like forward Rudy Gay, a name that has been linked to the Heat. Most of the top free agents already committed to teams as Miami waited on Hayward’s decision, but here are some of the players still available.

The list of wing players still available in free agency includes Derrick Rose, C.J. Miles, Tyreke Evans, Tony Allen, Aaron Brooks, Vince Carter, Gerald Henderson, Brandon Jennings, Mike Dunleavy, Jeff Green and Anthony Morrow, among others.

The list of frontcourt players still available in free agency includes Ersan Ilyasova, Brandon Bass, Kris Humphries, Jonas Jerebko, David Lee, Mike Muscala, Marreese Speights, Tiago Splitter, Aron Baynes and Dewayne Dedmon, among others.

Let Lonzo handle his own business Nigga, you sound stupid as fuck... 2.5 ppg on a weak ass college team and he's talking about accomplishments! FOH!!

Y'all keep talking about who's not worth this and that but man the landscape has changed. Tristan Thompson got 100 million.....Guys with Porters youth and skill set is gonna get 100 mill that's just where we at.
Right and on the flip side...teams have to spend a certain amount...so that's way I see JJ get 20mill a year from Philly...

Let them cats get that bread
Not saying I don't want these dudes to get paid. I am looking at it from a GM/Owner perspective. I don't care what the market dictates, I would not pay these amounts for unproven guys.

Since when do Gms get credit cause THE PLAYER choose them.

He was Boston bound the minute Stevens became coach.

Gms are trash if u can't mak moves

I heard ainge hasn't marc Gasol up his sleeve

They aren't good at their jobs.
Yup.. and they arent that smart either. They continue to put all these bullshit ceilings and caps in order to control players movements and income. But it ALWAYS backfires. Thats what happens when you are run by entitled incompetent clowns who insist on trying to rig the game instead of working at their craft .

And they're the ones who outbid for each other. They're the ones saying well we gonna pay mike conley 153m or lowry who don't show up 100m. or reggie jackson 80m or something ridiculous.

if you been on the job for 3 years and have 100m to manage and you haven't made the playoffs you should be fired PERIOD. then once you make the playoffs you gotta advance the object is to go forward not stay the same or go backwards

You have no choice. You have to field a team....you trying to hold out and not spend money? Your team will be penalized........the NBA has it set up where you HAVE to pay these guys or you will be penalized. You see the Kings gotta spend money on veterans like Randolph and Hill even though they are rebuilding....they have to spend the money.

Wiz don't care. Nobody going out of their way o go to the Wiz....to be honest....I wouldn't even care about free agency. Sign your guys because ain't nobody coming to your team if they haven't told you yet. Dudes gonna fuck their roster up trying to hold out for Durant or Lebron to come to their team.....I think teams finally have given up on that.....well except the Lakers but shit they deserve whatever comes their way.

 Low-key........Hayward did a poor man's Durant.

He left Utah a contender who had peaked in the West......and went and ran to the 2nd best team in the East who had the best record in the East last year.......but we not gonna call him a bitch or nothing like we did Durant though.

And for the record Hayward made the right move........just funny how shit works. Haven't heard a peep about Hayward being a bitch though.

I think this the most non publicized thing folks don't know. It been stated here a few times, I've even addressed it during last free agency but it steady get over looked.

Again team have to spend a high percentage of the cap(I think it 80% but that seems low).
