Even in the "merger" of galaxies we can observe and measure increased activity through motion or the release of other energies not less.

My point being, if the spot they are attributing to be caused by parallel universes coming together is what they say it is we should see more energy in the area not less. As a matter of fact there is an actual spot in the CMB map that I would rather they use as the point because it is by far the "hottest" area on the map. That to me suggests a collision, bump, touch or merger more than the cold spot. I see instead the cold spot being more akin to a wave, bubble, slump or ripple in the fabric of the universe that is farther away from the parallel universe next door and thus the colder temp and less activity.

I would imagine the working theory is that they are looking at the after effect, not the originating incident. So the extra energy and heat from colliding and interacting would have already subsided, leaving a void of both or a "scar".

It's neither here nor there. It's not like they really believe this is a working theory. It just hasn't been ruled out yet. For what it's worth, though, I do wish they'd stop mucking around with stuff they don't fully understand. I'm still assuming that the Hadron collider is going to screw us all over in some way, and that's if it hasn't already done so.

We are still observing the heat from the origination of the Universe we exist in right now. The event in question would have had to have happened (relatively speaking) around the same time the CMB map has recorded it. Any time much sooner and there would be very little difference in temps as everything was the same.
