He dunked on him and looked at him

People laugh, but this is the type of scrutiny these fellas are gonna have to endure now... Every missed shot, every blowout, every time they get crossed over. Some of this stuff is a normal part of the game, but when it happens to them, its gonna be headline news.

One thing seriously that is annoying about the youngest ball is, you see him going HARD when he has the ball on offense but the minute he scores, he waves at the inbounds pass, jogs a few steps up court and then chills most of the time not getting past half court waiting for the outlet pass. As a teammate I would have a fucking problem with that when you shoot 60% of our shots but NEVER play any fucking defense...

When I see the young one play I feel like he's going through the motions. I actually see him getting tired of the bullshit and trying to go his own way.

Hopefully... I appreciate all of the positives behind his Pop trying to build their own brand and legacy, but when everybody is celebrating his efforts, they neglect the impact and pressure it puts on the KIDS, who are just that... KIDS...

Lonzo is actually the fortunate one. His fathers flow will impact him but he's already made his way on the court, getting to this point as a NORMAL talented kid. His brothers will be under and extra microscope and while some of the negatives of Lonzo's game were pseudo missed because he wasn't under such scrutiny, EVER aspect of LaMelo's game will be surgically picked apart, which could have a worse impact on his evaluation for the next level than it should...

LaVar Ball Rips into Big Ballers AAU Team During Blowout Loss to Compton Magic

With his Big Ballers team down 56-25 at halftime to the Compton Magic in an AAU game Sunday, LaVar Ball attempted to fire his players up ahead of the second half.

USA Today's Josh Peter shared a video of Ball's speech (NSFW language):

Ball's halftime talk didn't work, as Big Ballers lost 109-57.

Big Ballers features Ball's son, LaMelo, who scored 15 points. According to the Orange County Register's Ryan Kartje, LaVar began the AAU team so his family could have control over the basketball careers of LaMelo and his two other sons, Lonzo and LiAngelo.

Stephan Gilling coached LaMelo for a season at Chino Hills High School before butting heads with LaVar, whom Gilling claimed attempted to undermine him.

In a March interview with For The Win's Andrew Joseph, Gilling recounted how he and LaVar differed on defensive tactics in a game against Roosevelt High School at the Tarkanian Classic in December.

"He comes to me and says, 'What are you doing? What are you doing?'" Gilling said. "I said, 'What do you mean? I'm trying to win the game.' He turns around and walks to our locker room. I said, 'LaVar, don't go into the locker room.' He continues walking. I said, 'LaVar, why are you trying to embarrass me?' And he just kept walking and goes into the locker room. He's in there sitting down with the team. And I'm like, 'LaVar, get out!'"

According to Joseph, Chino Hills won the game 76-68 after eschewing LaVar's preference for double-teaming and trapping the ball-handler and opting instead for the man-to-man defense suggested by Gilling.

Much like his attempts to get Big Baller Brand on par with the major basketball apparel companies, LaVar has a long way to go before he challenges the biggest names in the business for coaching supremacy.

I watched the whole thing, they were clearly outmatched..

and the young ball dude got skills and I like his just play ball attitude,

but he has to put on a little weight and get his defensive game up like other posters were saying..

if he aint scoring that team aint winning

entirely lavar ball's fault...the world hates him and his sons so much that it's created enough karma for them to be unsuccessful @ everything they do from now on...it doesn't help either that the other team probably had no intention of winning the game or playing hard but became supremely motivated to do so once they realized they were playing lavar ball's son's team

Man his team just isnt good. Look like men vs boys

It's either gonna make him get serious or he'll fold. I told my boy that the youngest one right here is most likely just gonna be a system player at best. Time will tell
He's gonna fold. But it won't happen until he gets into college.

His Dad doesn't FORCE him to play 'tough defense'. At all. :smh:

So when he gets to college, he's gonna get his basketball 'wake up call' from any decent coach that doesn't give him the 'green light' to pull up from half-court, on every trip.

Jump shooters (who are volume shooters) like him 'lose their mind' without the freedom to 'make bad decisions' & let it fly, at will.

The jump shooters in college who do better are the ones who don't need to put up 20-25 shots to 'get hot'. Instead, they drop 20+ ppg off only 10-15 shots, or less.

They team look hella weak :roflmao: It literally looks like the difference between NCAA Div 1 and Div 3 out there. Those cats got no height, athleticism nothing

On the real, he should pick a pro to model his game after, like Ray Allen. Ray wasn't just a shooter.

This muthafucka had the nerve to say, "that's why i hate when you get all this press...I know you gon' get your haircut and come out wearing Jordans".

He basically saying you think you're a star before you're a star. He was right when he said "your not hungry." I'm sure it was a bad game, but that game the entire squad looked defeated.

Agreed. But I don't see HOW his Dad will let him do that... Especially when Lavar thinks all his sons ALREADY shoot better than Curry... Plus he even thinks he can beat Jordan.

His ego would not allow his sons to 'mimick' some other great player. :smh:

Pretty sure the only person he wants them 'to be like'............. is himself.

They were overmatched severely by Compton Magic and their style of play played directly into it. A PG who dribbles the life out of the ball to find himself a shot, the same PG throwing up random 30 foot shots for the hell of it, a press defense featuring players who aren't particularly long or athletic with no type of shot blocker on the backend of said defense, and little to no rebounding.
They've gotten curbstomped by teams nowhere as good as Compton Magic playing the exact same way so barring a miracle they were going to get their ass kicked in this game or any time that they play a team like the Magic or the Oakland Soldiers or Cali Supreme. In part because they don't have a great amount of talent, they don't play the right way to overcome the lack of talent and they're not particularly tough either.

After seeing the size difference, im not shocked by that score.

That Compton squad filled with a bunch of big ass kids who look like they grew up hormone filled chicken nuggets. Aint no way a team filled with slim, short, light skin niggas w/ babyhair beating 14 year olds thats built like adult Men.

No different than the motions that MJ's son, Jeffery Jordan, went through when he averaged less than 2 points per game in college.

Either live in the shadow of your Father, or use your Fathers shadow to grow and build your own empire. The choice is theirs!
