Actor Kit Harington, who portrays Jon Snow on the series, told EW the new season will have a faster pace.
"This season is really different than any other season because it's accelerating toward the end, a lot of stuff collides and happens much, much quicker than you're used to seeing on Thrones," Harington said. "It's quite exciting."
On Tuesday HBO, tweeted a sinister-looking poster of the Night King to remind viewers of the upcoming season.

Winter is coming July 16 when the new season premieres.

Winter is coming, but what if it took less time to get here?

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, whose company is in the process of purchasing Time Warner, has suggested that it might make sense to cut down episodes of Game of Thrones to a shorter length to make them more palatable in a "mobile environment."

“I’ll cause [HBO CEO Richard] Plepler to panic,” Stephenson said at the J.P. Morgan’s Global Technology, Media and Telecom Conference according to Variety. "Think about things like Game of Thrones. In a mobile environment, a 60-minute episode might not be the best experience. Maybe you want a 20-minute episode.”

Though Stephenson mentioned Game of Thrones, he used the popular HBO series mostly to illustrate how AT&T could adapt Time Warner's portfolio of entertainment brands to better fit mobile platforms.

With Time Warner under its umbrella, AT&T has an opportunity to integrate its telecommunications services with brands from HBO, Warner Bros., and more. However, Stephenson's comments don't necessarily indicate any currently announced concrete plans to adapt films, shows, and more from those brands to mobile platforms.

For now, Game of Thrones continues to ramp up to its season 7 premiere later this summer, with new season 7 key art and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) explaining that season 7 has a much faster pace than previous seasons. A new look at Game of Thrones' massive dragons in season 7 was also recently revealed.

Game of Thrones: Season 7 returns Sunday, July 16th, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.

Season 7 is breaking the rules in every way. It's long since departed from George R.R. Martin's books, not least because there are no more books to draw from (writeThe Winds of Winter, GRRM), and it's releasing in summer instead of spring (we're going insane!!!).

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, several key cast members said that Season 7 will break from tradition as the show builds momentum for the Season 8 conclusion — and that it's going to shock fans around the world.

“I feel like I’d been lulled into a different pace,” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau told EW of reading the Season 7 scripts. “Everything happened quicker than I’m used to…a lot of things that normally take a season now take one episode.”

That's sensible on the writers' part since the've got seven episodes to work with instead of the usual 10, but also means the show will abandon any illusion of having chill (see also: "Hold the door" was Season 6 episode 5, and the infamous "Purple Wedding" happened in Season 4 episode 3).

“This season is really different than any other season because it’s accelerating toward the end, a lot of stuff collides and happens much much quicker than you’re used to seeing onThrones," Kit Harington also told EW. "It’s so different than what everybody is used to. It’s quite exciting.”

“For a long time we’ve been talking about ‘the wars to come,'” added showrunner David Benioff. “Well, that war is pretty much here. So it’s really about trying to find a way to make the storytelling work without feeling like we’re rushing it."

We're not in a rush, but we can't wait.

Game of Thrones returns July 16.

:eek::eek: Oh shit!!! I think you are right!!:yes:

If this IS Jorah Mormont... then I'm guessing he is most likely reaching out to.... GRAB THE CURE!!!

Or in a last ditch attempt to get out of the friend zone by touching Daenarys so she can become infected and have no choice but to fuck with him.

@grownazzblakman I'm thinking this is Jorah Mormont with his grey scale progressed to the point that he had to be isolated

That's Jorah for sure.

Half of these episodes is going to be like the annual big battle episode. You can just feel that coming. It might even be the last 3 episodes of the season because of the sheer size and different forces at play.

I just want to see everyone's reactions when they see dragons. I also want to see everyone's reactions when they see Snow

and I also want to see everyone's reactions once they realize white walkers are real

That one scene where John and his army are hauling ass looks like their reaction to the white walkers.
