Should I personally buy and then transfer them to him or set him up an account and have him get a bank account to transfer money to the exchange and use his information to buy the coins?

Ripple is definitely a sound investment right now. You can open an account for him and have him do the leg work to fund it, which would take 1-2 wks to complete because the delay to get verified now is crazy. Or you can create an acct somewhere and send him the coins through your acct once you've bought them. The safest exchanges as right now are Bitstamp, Gatehub, Kraken and Bittrex.

I paid with bitcoins I think you can avoid fees that way. It was about $92 in USD
Kraken and Coinbase. Kraken will take at least a week or two to completely get verified. Coinbase will let you buy bitcoin with your credit card but only in small amounts to start with, and then you would have to transfer that to an exchange to buy ripple would also take several days. What I've noticed in this game is that you need to have multiple accnts verified to be flexible as possible.
I think I've been verified on both already. Coinbase for sure with licence scan. Kraken with name and address verified. I forget the limits those give though.
So what would be the best plan of attack to help the guy buy Ripple considering that?
Also try to find ways to cut out the middleman. If you buying XRP then use bitstamp. XRP is probably gonna be on coinbase or whoever is gonna run coinbase out of business.
I ain't ballin like you yet but I can see I'm gonna have to verify so when shit hits big I don't wanna wait 5-7 days of getting verified to pull out $25K of my own money

If the Market explodes and it continues to keep a 50% share of the market I can see 1m. Maybe longer than 10 years but I could see it in the sense that as decentralized as these things are supposed to be, in reality people with BTC already want to keep it as the most valuable crypto by far.

I always eyed it when it was around the $2 range but the week ETH went from $40-$50 to $80-90 in a few days, I said fuck this shit I'm not missing the next train. ETC would always lag behind and eventually pull within a fraction of ETH so I went in on the $6-$7 range and just held.
Im about to start mining ETH/ETC on genesis. I can buy an extra 1-2 hashes every payday for less than $100 and over time I might have a few MH/s. Thats going out money.

Is there a way to check how much your coins are worth in USD on Bittrex?
I have like 120k of Reddcoin and Im trying to see how much it is (currently) worth in USD. Like on Kraken it shows how much Ripple you have, and what is the current value in USD of that Ripple.

No. Just see what the bitcoin value is and multiply that by the rate of bitcoin currently
Ok cool. In my Bittrex wallet it just gives my total value of all my coins as the bitcoin value. It doesn't separate it by coin or maybe Im doing something wrong.
Trading reddcoin for a Bitcoin right now...
