When you get recorded saying the words. "None of this leaves this room...." you kinda have to be spooked. He knows good and well that if that convo got recorded and got out, others are probably out there, too.
I remember back at my old job, they would just say all kinds of wrong and/or illegal stuff in staff meetings. And it never seemed to occur to anyone that someone could record the convo and bring it up later. Side note: someone recorded the convo. I don't think they ever used it for anything, but they had it if they needed it to get out of a jam.
