Colts got the best value in the draft with Hooker there. I can't believe he fell there. That's gonna be their Bob Sanders.

Now we know why John Lynch got up at 3:30 a.m. on draft day.
It was to fleece the Chicago Bears.
The San Francisco 49ers rookie GM made quite a splash in his first draft, trading down from No. 2 to No. 3 with Chicago, and for quite a price.
NFL draft 2017, Round 1: Track all the picks; TV schedule, live stream
The Lions have the 21st overall pick. The first round begins at 8 p.m.
Surprisingly, the Bears moved up to grab North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky. The Jay Cutler era has been over in Chicago, but the Bears acquired Mike Glennon in the offseason, presumably to be their quarterback.

You simply cannot pass up a chance to trade 4 picks for your QB of the future to have him learn under Mike Glennon.

For moving down one spot, San Francisco picked up third- and fourth-round picks in this draft and a 2018 third-rouder. And, the 49ers still got to grab Stanford DE Solomon Thomas at No. 3 overall.
All that so the Bears could grab a guy who has 13 career college starts.

When he was hired people compared John Lynch to Matt Millen. Lynch has already made more smart draft moves than Millen ever did.

#49ers took a haul from the #Bears and still got arguably the cleanest player in the draft. He can be just as impactful as Garrett day 1.
