Bullshit. His latest contract has a baked in clause that he could be fired with cause if more sex scandals came out..
You think too smallminded. This is nothing like Sterling.. O'Reilly was the face and voice of the conservative movement and platform. He is largely responsible for normalizing alot of heinous and discriminatory shit.. His reputation and credibility was used to give validity to alot of despicable shit and people... He spent his career moralizing and condescending on the basis of being superior and on the premise that his "side" was what was right about america and the opposing view was what was wrong.
This firing exposed him and all of that as a fraud. It sullied the brand and the face of the franchise. He has egg on his face and everyone he tried to devalue is laughing. Further, the guy is an egomaniac who thought he was above the law and beyond reproach... This is a tough pill for him to swallow. And not being able to preach hate to his millions of mindless bigot sycophants will be suffocating to a animal like him.
Fuck the money... Hes made tens of millions per annum for over a decade and millions prior to date... The severance wont change his lifestyle one way or another. That money is immaterial. The cac has been humiliated, exposed as a scumbag hypocrite, and booted off air.
Win.
Think too small?
I'm aware that this is BIGGER than Bill O'reilly.
Bill O'reilly is NOBODY in the grand scheme of things. Why? Because the issue is the message he propagated, which will continue on long after he's gone.
Whatever personal shit Bill has to deal with, internally or externally, doesn't affect me positively or negatively.
Its similar to dudes who get off on rich women having to be pay large amounts of child support or huge divorce settlements. I never feel the same sense of satisfaction, because it doesn't change anything. Men are still being financially raped by the system, so what is the celebration for?
I don't count anything as a victory unless I've truly won.
In five years, you won't be thinking about Bill O'reilly, but you'll still be incensed over the shit they're propagating on that network.
...and what PISSES ME OFF, JUST LIKE STERLING, CACs get to say and do anything they want, and their punishment includes a huge payday. YOU SAY fuck the money, but you can't speak for that man or any of those men. Even if they are humiliated and on the verge of suicide over being fired, I'm still not caught up in that shit. Bill was rich simply to propagate a certain POV. Ultimately he is replaceable.
The greater issue is not only the messsage, but the individuals who financially empower people to spread it.
