My family is from Louisiana. The few times i've been there, there were fine ass women but real country and simple minded.
We're simple minded and real country, huh? Are you referring to women from other parts of Louisiana, outside of New Orleans? In the more metropolitan cities, you'll find very progressive-minded, educated black women. I will say that my cousins and family members in Lafayette, very few of them have left the area or obtained a real career for themselves. The goal for many of them is marriage and motherhood. There's nothing wrong with that, but I'd like to inquire into your definition of "simple-minded."
I didn't mean any disrespect. Thinking back, most that i'm talking about are from small towns. It seemed like all of them just thought day by day instead of the next year or 10 years down the road.
Here is a sample....After 30 min of kicking it and shooting the shit with my male cousins, here was a convo:
Cousin: "Aye cousin you are cool man, you should move down here and kick it with us! We hit the bar and fuck dese hoes everyday. And you would do good here."
Me: "Nah man, I have a pretty good job and not trying to just move right now" [Note: I was about 5 years into a good career that took me 3 years to get]
Cousin: "Awwww maaaaaan you aint sayin shit! I can git you work! You can lay bricks like us! Aye Arnold! *calls to another guy at the house*
Arnold: "Hey wassup man?"
Cousin: "Hey Cousin, this is Arnold,Arnold, this is _____. Cousin, Arnold is our boss, he has a Bricklaying business. Arnold, you got work for em if he moves down here?"
Arnold: "Yeah man, i can get you some work."
Cousin: "Told ya man! You gonna love it here. These ladies gonna love ya. We go to that bar there *points to a bar down the main street* or *names some other bar*. Both be havin plenty of ladies."
Me: "Let me think about it."
After talking to these dudes, every single day they work their ass off,then after work go to the Bar and fuck a local. Pretty much every dude in the town 20 and up did that.Even the older married ones. The women seemed to just have no plan either.A few cousins went off to college in Houston and nobody knew what they were up to.
This wasn't in New Orleans though. This was Opelousas.
Okay, I gotcha. I have a coworker from St. James Parish, and understand what you mean. When she visits, it's a lot of drinking. When I visit New Orleans, we do eat (man, do we eat! lol,) but there may not be much more to it. I don't get into the same discussions as I would some of my other friends outside of NOLA because, well, when I'm eating/drinking, it doesn't really come up.
Yes mam especially about the moving or staying part. That Louisiana food is a blessing and a curse I guess.
