Red Dead Redemption 2: We Can Already Name Three Of The Seven Characters
Maybe even a fourth. And yes, one of them is John Marston.

Finally, after six years, it's happening!
Rockstar have confirmed the existence of Red Dead Redemption 2, and once you've got done diving into all the behind-the-scenes leaks in regards to what you can expect gameplay-wise, there's a tantalisingly silhouetted poster and teaser trailer to pick apart.
Thankfully, it didn't take us long to pinpoint who's who, and as RDR2 is already established as a prequel thanks to the leaked map from earlier this year, it looks like we're going to be controlling a younger John Marston alongside his companions as they made up Dutch's Gang.
To that end, here are some side-by-side comparisons of the poster and some Red Dead character models, as I think you'll agree, they look pretty spot on. The good thing is, this means we're getting John Marston back for one more ride, despite what happened to him in the original Red Dead Redemption.

First up, Bill Williamson, one of the main antagonists from RDR, and a former friend of Marston's.

Next, Dutch. The leader of 'Dutch's Gang', and one of the final people you chase down in the first game. Again, Dutch and Marston were on far better terms before the events of Red Dead Redemption, assumedly meaning you'll get to spend some quality time with both him and Bill.

The returning star of the show. John Marston's placement on the left-hand side of the entire gang must mean he's playing a reduced role. At this stage we're way more interested in fleshing out all the other characters, as from hours of playtime across RDR, we already know everything about how John Marston handles himself.
And finally, a bonus suggestion...

Maybe it's just me, but this guy to the right looks just like a younger version of Landon Ricketts, the contextually famous gunslinger who everyone tells tales of across the Wild West.
Ricketts was never part of Dutch's Gang - which is why this is just a suggestion above all else, especially seeing as Marston meets him for the first time in Red Dead Redemption - but still, dual revolvers and that moustache? Could it be a relation?

I'm really enjoying the main mission...I actually played this instead of GTA online for the first time...the sequel is gonna be sick

Man, it's a looooooong campaign, probably longer than GTA V's main story. Great story, though. Get good with that bolt-action rifle and you'll be straight!
semi auto shot gun = medium range kill everything
Double action revolver = fast accurate

Man, I'm going to get lit the fuck up. I shoot so bad Every time I pick up a gun I'm reminded why I joined at the Navy. I suck. But I don't mind getting killed in video games. I might play tomorrow after the Browns get their ass whipped by the Cowboys
I would like to see some black main characters
Just get good with the head shots. With a lot of the rifles, you just aim and slightly tap up on the left joystick for the head shot. The bolt action is usually best for that. I played RDR so much that it took time for me to adjust to the aiming on GTA V.
Is it auto aim or is it free game? If it's auto aim I can do quasi-decent. If it's free aim I'm totally fucked. I've always done a horrible job with shooters, in GTA V I have the auto aim to lean on

It's auto aim. But if you're really good you can switch to free aim.

Although not exactly from the people over at Rockstar Studios themselves, a pretty legitimate source exposes that Red Dead Redemption 2 will most likely have 3 protagonists. The source of the leak is a 4Chan user who previously exposed legitimate leaks about Grand Theft Auto Online DLCs based on “internal Rockstar communications”.
Well, based on what the forum user is saying, this is what’s going to be happening in Red Dead Redemption 2. Read Dead Online, the game’s online portion that’s similar to Grand Theft Auto Online, except with horses instead of fancy cars, will be coming out some time much later after the main game is released. In order to maintain server balance, and so that players can actually enjoy story mode instead of skipping over it, only the single player portion available to play at its release.
They also said that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a prequel, and suggests, that much like in Grand Theft Auto 5, the game will have multiple playable characters! The three characters are all members of John Marston’s old gang that was around before the time of Red Dead Redemption. However, John is not one of those members.

Last month, the release date of Red Dead Redemption 2 was supposedly leaked, and now another leak suggests that the next big reveal will be a gameplay trailer shown at the 2017 Super Bowl 51. Both leaks could be right on the money.
We already discussed the 2 October 2017 release date leak, read more about it here. The gameplay trailer one comes from a post on Reddit by a Target store owner showing a Red Dead Redemption 2 pre-order card (shown in above image). The card shows a date - 5 February 2017 - which is the opening day of the 2017 Superbowl LI, as well as the 50th anniversary of Super Bowl.
Red Dead fans are, of course, baffled by the date on the card, does it mean official pre-orders open, or will Rockstar showcase a gameplay trailer (or just a tease) for Red Dead Redemption 2 during the Super Bowl. Last year's event attracted over 100 million viewers and showcased movie trailers as well as video game footage. The cost of airtime during the event was a staggering $5 million for 30 seconds (Gamespot).
30 Seconds is a bit short for gameplay, so Rockstar will have to fork out at least double the amount if they want to showcase some proper footage. Open World Games will be recording the event, so make sure to follow their YouTube channel.
