Not doing shit when Doomsday showed up? Well yeah, no shit he couldnt get in a fist fight with Doomsday. Guess what, there is no version of Batman ever in comics or otherwise, that could ever do anything to Doomsday without preparing a weapon against it. Its fucking Doomsday.

Yes he was outwitted by Lex. The same Lex who is supposed to be one of, if not the smartest man on earth. Lex did the same to Batman in the comics. So theres nothing wrong with that.

And Batman doesnt need to world to trust him. He was about striking fear in the hearts of criminals, not playing the public figure role.

Tell me, why is Batman the leader or co-leader of the Justice League in the comics? And why would the same reasons not apply here?

didnt watch BvsS but I enjoy late Affleck films and he's good with directing darker films (which is all batman should be) so I have confidence he'll do the damn thing justice. Plus he's friends with Kevin Smith and Damon who will steer him right

I have more confidence in him than Snyder. I'll wait for reviews then actually pay for it or use BGOL Studios for the download

DC fans rejoice: If you loved Batman v Superman, there’s more Batman — and Ben Affleck — coming our way. The actor revealed that he’s working on a solo project for the Dark Knight, and spilled some details on what we can expect. For starters, he’s set to write, direct, and act in the movie.

“I would probably do in some ways what [director] Zack [Snyder] did with [Batman v Superman], which is to borrow great stories from the great comic books but create an original story around it,” he said in an interview with Cines Argentinos.

It sounds like the story will be familiar to fans, but will still be fresh.

“I wouldn’t want fans to already know the story, but I would borrow — steal — great things that have been done before in the comics,” Ben continued.

If you can’t wait that long for more of Ben’s Batman, he’ll appear as the Dark Knight in two upcoming Justice League movies. Fans also think he’ll be in Suicide Squad, which comes out later this summer.

just that its not riddler - based on a few things floating around I think he is going to do something similar to what you described and whats in the Long Halloween - (if you haven't read it - I highy recommend it)
 
This is how it should have began before batman v superman. We'd already had a superman movie. DC is doing it backwards now to make up on lost ground. Hopefully they can get it together. Give each justice league member their movies (overlapping with others characters of course) and we can see the full justice league with a return of superman. Hope they get it organized over there.

Dude, even in the movie he's an older batman. Wonder woman stole the data from him, but he's the worlds greatest detective. They are going to have to pull a 180 and do a batman days of future past to erase all of this stupid shit. Ask yourself, why would any other "hero" want to team up with "this" Batman? It's contrived, and the one guy that may have wanted to work with him is dead.

But the idea here is that Supes' death will change Batman, and this is his redemption story.
 
I'm just glad Snyder won't have no say in this version of Batman,because he fucked up BvS up.

As,for Affleck,I thought he did a great job playing as Batman.


Warner Bros should of did a solo Batman film,before making a Batman vs Superman,because that made alot more sense

I hope, cause the Batman in the JLA cartoons and the DC animation is the shit. Batman is supposed to outsmart just about everyone, and be a kick ass fighter too. Not much detective work on the big screen with the last movie, and over kill with the blunt force weapons. Batman's gadgets should have some elegance to them. He's acting like the Punisher.

Ben Affleck Will Not Direct ‘The Batman’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Ben Affleck has decided to step down as director of “The Batman” and remain on as a producer and star of the project.

Affleck is still on board to play the superhero, but sources close to the talent said Affleck and Warner Bros., after discussing how to best make the film possible, came to the decision together.




“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Sources say this decision was solely made based on what’s best for the project and had nothing to do with the recent disappointment of Affleck’s recent directing job “Live by Night.”

Affleck and Warner Bros. will now begin searching for a new director. Sources say there is a shortlist and that “War for the Planet of the Apes” helmer Matt Reeves is among those on the list.

“Warner Bros. fully supports Ben Affleck’s decision and remains committed to working with him to bring a standalone Batman picture to life,” the studio said a statement.

Affleck has completed work as the Caped Crusader in “Justice League,” which opens Nov. 17, and he was preparing to go into prep on the solo “Batman” movie this summer. Affleck co-wrote the script with Geoff Johns.

There had been rumblings that Affleck was considering not directing the film during the past month, but in recent weeks sources say the multi-hyphenate came to the decision it was best to let the directing job go and focus on playing the part.

He first appeared as the superhero in last year’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now this is some crazy late-hitting news. Ben Affleck has stepped down as director of the standalone Batman movie, per THR.

He will still be starring and producing, but no longer directing. His statement on it lays blame on his high standards for the character and that it's clear to him that he can't give 100% to the character if he's also directing, so he's going to find a new director to "partner with."

There's a few ways to read this. Affleck has said repeatedly that he wouldn't direct this standalone Batman movie if the script wasn't right and even as far back as last summer when I was on the set of Justice League he was saying that they've had some drafts that aren't right and he keeps sending them back.

So, read #1 is that he never got the script he's 100% happy with and doesn't want the blame if the movie is less than perfect.

Read #2 is that WB got cold feet on his abilities after taking a $75 million write-off on his last directorial outing Live By Night.

The reality might be a combination of the two. You've got to assume WB wants this movie out ASAP and if Director Affleck keeps delaying waiting for the right script (which they might or might not agree on anyway) then Live By Night flopping could be the perfect excuse for them to move on.

Either way, Affleck must have a pretty iron clad contract to appear as the Caped Crusader, so he's in front of the camera no matter what.

Variety's reporters said they've heard that Matt Reeves as at the top of Warner Bros' list to step in and that'd be a hell of a choice. My gut instinct when I read the news was that WB should reach out to Jeremy Saulnier (Blue Ruin, Green Room). Can you imagine if they did a Batman trapped in Arkham Asylum style escape movie with Saulnier directing? Perfection.

Affleck stepping down as director isn't great news. I was very much looking forward to his full on Batman movie in large part because I thought he might be one of the only directors WB could hire that could force the studio to let their creative vision shine. He also happens to be a very talented filmmaker.

The DCEU took a bit of a blow today. Let's see how this project rolls with this particular punch.

They trippin' mega hard if they don't use da Hush arc. Zsasz too or Black Mask. If they use Black Mask, tie in Bludhaven, Scarface, Two Face and da Falcone crime family and make it some mob shit. They shoulda been done a Batman Beyond movie instead of rehashing da same shit.

That would be smart but you know WB isn't that smart when it comes to DC....
 
I've been wanting a Batman Beyond movie or game for years. I think they should have done the Batman Beyond/Return of Joker storyline in the 3rd Arkham game instead of the Arkham Knight thing. They had the death of Joker story in the 2nd game, so the stage was set.

I believe Affleck want's out period. When he was talkin about the script not being right...that was the tell tale. DC execs don't give a fuck about the story in these movies because no matter how much they suck people STILL going to see em. That's the bottom line. Even if half the board goes on first weekend and says it sucks, the other half will say "I've got to see it for myself"
