Ben Affleck Will Direct and Star in a Standalone Batman Movie for Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. wants to keep Batfleck in action, as THR reports the latest Caped Crusader will also star in and direct his ownstandalone movie. Studio chief Kevin Tsujihara confirmed the news Tuesday at CinemaCon, noting that the recent Batman v Superman project has "set up a great foundation for our DC slate, which includes at least ten movies through 2020" — some of those being Suicide Squad,The Flash,Wonder Woman,Aquaman, Shazam!,Cyborg, andGreen Lantern Corps.

Not much is known about the solo Batman project, other than WME co-CEO Patrick Whitesell's "really cool"endorsement of Affleck's script idea and a possible 2018-2019 release date. Tsujihara's update marks another opportunity for Affleck to don the Bat suit, in addition to the work he'll do in Justice League One and Two. Make yourself at home, Ben.

give it up dc/warner bros, that bvs was the worst movie i saw in terms of hype, it's up there with transformers 2 with how bad it was, the way they rushed the justice league characters was laughable , give it up, you wont catch up to marvel

p.s i enjoyed man of steel a lot, this movie took a lot of steps back
 
well this raises a bunch of questions for me...

In BvS he played an older version of batman (circa the dark knight returns) is this one going be older or young batman?
If its standalone then will affleck be reprising his role in the justice league films or are they going to get someone else to play the part?
If they do get affleck for JL films will he play older batman or younger batman since generally the JL has always been kinda youngish like 30s..
When they say standalone/solo does that mean just an him by himself but the action and events have meaning in the DCCU or is it a movie that is separate from the DCCU?
 
Also, who would follow that raggedy ass Batman from the movie? That's like The Punisher forming the Avengers. Who would listen to an old ass batman that's not focused? They fucked up by making him old in the movies. Unless they go Batman Beyond which would be dope.
 
i believe Affleck is in both JL movies..

as for the solo Batman film its a foregone conclusion that Leto and Robbie will be showing up

they destroyed the superman franchise to bring back batman...like i told people b4 when the news hit that doin the batman thing gonna be bad for supes... it's even worst than i thought..juss think more people will go see ben first batman than supes sequel
 
I'm game for a Affleck Batman movie but damn 2019. I don't know if DC and Warners Bros. can not fuck up again for another 3 years. I'm excited for Suicide Squad and I really want to see what they do with the Wonder Woman movie, but everything else on their lineup has me nervous .... including JLA 1&2. :(

How was Batman old and raggedy in BvS?

Batman will be the leader because from the neck up he is above all other heroes.

If nothing BvS actually proved that batman really doesn't belong in justice league...that he can't hang with super powered beings (no matter how prepared).

Bruce was essentially in ironman type armor and STILL had nothing to bring to the table. Even with kryptonite he barely hurt superman even if he did kill him how would he fight wonder woman if he had to?

At best his presence in the league is as the only fully HUMAN representative but look at that final battle scene....Superman went AT doomsday..Wonderwoman went AT doomsday with a SMILE on her face.. the BEST batman could do was be a distraction and bait:hmm:. This SHOULD be addressed in the Justice League movie...if not its a HUGE omission.

Marvel gave a wink about in Avengers 2 with black widow and hawkeye but DC can actually address this are issue on screen in a decent way that just shows the dramatic imbalance on the team..if theres a threat that needs superman ww and other superpowered being to deal with then batman is useless in a battle. And if theres some issue that batman and green arrow can do then supes, ww and flash are overkill...itd be like bringing in a ICBM missile to knockdown a door on a shack.

What batman DOES bring to the table that the others may not is superb investigative skills and being rich gives him quiet access to areas no one else get into as their alter egos. But that reduces his appearances in the justice league stories to supporting roles.
 
Im good with this. he made a believer out of me. I came in like fuck he's going to mess the role up but he plays a bitter old ass batman very well. enjoyed the fighting he did too.

shoot the whole shit like how he was in the desert or when he went to rescue martha and you got yourself one person who's going to see it.

just be salty af the entire movie. it fits him well he already naturally looks salty af

It's crazy,because when it was announced Affleck would play Batman,everybody thought he would fuck it up.Fast forward to a couple of years,he was one of the few things good about the movie

Just like im sure the Flash's movie will open just like the tv show,with Ezra Miller narrating the line "My name is Barry Allen..and i'm the FASTEST MAN ALIVE!" :boring:

Resorting to guns and branding criminals, getting outwitted by Luthor multiple times. Not doing shit but running when Doomsday showed up. I could go on and on. This Batman was short on planning and logic, was outclassed in the crazy overpowered DCEU and sneaked into prison to brand Luthor? What the fuck for? That would just give the police and world even less reason to trust him. Believe me, Aquaman nor Cyborg are going to listen to this cat, nor should they. Wonder Woman already punked him, so there goes his leadership with her. This is just forced and not using Bruce to his fullest capacity. He was more like Bane in this movie.
