I have heard people called 'crispy' many times in my life. . .
. . . and it was only because they were dark-skinned. Have never heard of even a brown-skinned person called 'crispy'.
But, hey . . .
I didn't hear it a lot growing up.
The only time I heard "crispy" was when it meant to be fresh, or have some new shit on. Like a crispy white tee.
Tariq said it was ashy, but I would think that would be more like "flakey" or something like that.
I could see crispy as "burnt to a crisp", tho.
