3% is a Brazilian, dystopian thriller series created by Pedro Aguilera, starring Bianca Comparato and João Miguel.[1] Developed from a 2011 independent pilot episode, it is Netflix's first original Brazilian production and the second produced in Latin America, after Club de Cuervos.[3]

The show is set in a future wherein people are given a chance to go to the "better side" of a world divided between progress and affluence in the Offshore, and devastation and poverty in the Inland, but only 3% of the candidates succeed.[4] Netflix gave the show a one-season order with an 8-episode first season.[5][6] Cesar Charlone, an Academy Award nominated cinematographer known for City of God and Blindness, served as directoralongside Daina Giannecchini, Dani Libardi, and Jotagá Crema. Tiago Mello serves as executive producer.[1] The first season became available on Netflix worldwide November 25, 2016.


I'm watching the first episode now. It's pretty good so far.

When Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon came out, people were walking out of the movie theatre because it was subtitled.

I was watching the subtitle version at first and then my wife told me i told i had the option change it to english i was like " wtf". So definitely change it to english dub so its all in english spoken. it sounds a little strange but its bearable.

Really? We saw it at an art house theater and I didn't see anyone walk out. To each his own, but can't imagine not checking out something because there is some reading involved.

re-reading what I initially posted, it looks like I was one of the people walking out. Hell no- to this day, I actually prefer the sub of Crouching Tiger to the english dub.

I watch waaayyy too much subtitled anime, japanese sci-fi, korean dramas and comedies for me to be pressed about reading something on the screen. After a few minutes, I don't even realize I'm reading and can almost "hear" the characters speaking in english.

I went through a two year period where I didn't watch many American produced shows or movies. I don't even know I'm reading at times, it feels like I'm understanding the language, and some vocal tones and characteristics can't be carried over in a dub.

I agree with this. Damn, I remember coming up on all those dubbed kung fu movies and now they have all this subtitle shit. I hate when I see something on Netflix and want to watch it then find out it's foreign with subtitles.

I feel you, I don't have time to sit infront of the tv and give it my full attention. Most of the time I will have the movie playing while I'm getting other shit done.
