Quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott have been getting a lot of attention during the Cowboys’ five-game winning streak, but they’ve gotten help from a defense that’s been better than many people expected.
One member of that defense has been recognized as the NFC’s defensive player of the week for Week Six. Defensive end David Irving is the man of the hour.
Irving only played 19 snaps against the Packers, but he made the most of them. Irving forced three fumbles, all of which wound up with the Cowboys in the 30-16 victory. Irving recovered one himself after he stripped Aaron Rodgers on a sack and added four tackles on a day that will be hard to match when it comes to per snap impact.
The gloomy predictions for the Cowboys defense haven’t come to pass as they rank 7th in points against and 16th in yards allowed this season. Irving’s performance jumps out more than most, but the team’s gotten strong work from a variety of players as they’ve jumped to the top of the NFC East in the opening weeks of the year.
These dudes done found another gem. This dude only paid 19 snaps and got NFC Defensive player of the week........they better find some more snaps for him.
Cowboys ain't stupid. Fans may think we good with these niggas but Dez is a rare talent. He's been hurt. Get healthy and let's do this shit. They can say what they want about him....no matter how many flaws they say Dez has whether its poor route running or not showing up to practice or meetings....he's been a perennial 1k receiving yards guy and has done it effortless when healthy. Not trying to hear they shit they talking about.
I think Jerry and fans know that you can't build through free agency. Just can't. People will bring up the Bronco's......they are a exception to the rule and even then that shit doesn't do what it does if they never drafted Von Miller. You gotta find these guys in the draft.
No team is going to let a great pass rusher go to free agency. You either going to have someone like Greg Hardy end up there or a situation like Suh where he gets paid far too much for a defensive player. Not worth it.

Dont trade Dez... Keep doing it how yall been doing it... Build through the draft... You see what spending money on pass rushers got my Giants... Nothing... Olivier Vernon has been ass so far.... If Jerry is smart... He'll wait and try to move up for Miles Jarrett or try to target Allen out of Bama... In any event, dont let go of Bryant just yet... He's too good.
