In the midst of recent casting rumors for Domino in Deadpool 2, it's being reported that director Tim Miller has exited the highly anticipated sequel due to creative differences. Check it out!

It appears as though the director's chair for the highly anticipated Deadpool sequel is up for grabs. According to Deadline, director Tim Miller has exited Deadpool 2, which has already been slated for a January 2018 release.

They've learned that Miller himself chose to leave the project due to "mutual creative differences" with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds. Also, while Miller was developing the script for the film, he never officially signed on to direct Deadpool 2, so while it was assumed he'd be back in the director's chair, there was never any guarantee. The trade goes on to add that Miller's departure was amicable, and that Fox still has their eyes set on Miller potentially directing a future project, namely an adaptation of the David Suarez novel Influx.

Deadpool made quite the impression on fans worldwide and ultimately became a box office behemoth, breaking several records, something that not many expected due to its R-Rating, so the idea of Miller not returning for the sequel may not sit well with fans.

What do you think about Tim Miller's departure from Deadpool 2?

THat's Ryan's vehicle ultimately. They gonna get somebody else and keep it moving. The only thing that would set off alarms to me is if the reason was excessive studio intervention or some shit like that. As long as Fox leaves them alone like the first one it should be fine.

What if Ryan Reynolds decides to direct?

Update: According to The Wrap, the pair parted ways because Miller wanted the second film to be more stylized, while Reynolds (a producer on both films) wanted to keep the raunchy, fourth-wall-breaking comedy approach that made the first film such a success. Their conflict reportedly came to a head with the rumored casting of Kyle Chandler as Cable. Chandler was Miller’s choice, but Reynolds didn’t want him for the part, and the studio ended up siding with the star- partially because his renegotiated contract includes casting approval.

While Deadpool was definitely Reynolds’ project, Miller was also key in making the film such a massive success, leaking CGI test footage in 2014 that lit a fire under many fans. The film has gone on to gross over $780-million worldwide and recharged Reynolds’ career. Deadpool is currently the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time, and is said to be part of the inspiration for making Wolverine’s third solo film, Logan, into an R-rated film.

According to the report, Miller’s exit on Friday was amicable, and the director is jumping into another Fox project, Influx, based on the David Suarez novel. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more

We’re told the director was all set to make the sequel, which still doesn’t even have a release date. That’s allegedly in part because when Reynolds’ agents renegotiated his deal, along with a massive amount of money, the star got casting approval and other creative controls. That whole process took more time than Miller (and fans) would have liked, and it shined a spotlight on differences in vision between the two key players.

Miller, who owns a visual effects studio and we’re told did much of the polishing work on the original “Deadpool” for free, wanted more of a stylized sequel, while the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating.

The casting issue also eventually came to a head over the possible booking of Kyle Chandler in the sequel. Mashable movie reporter Jeff Sneider first reported Chandler’s potential involvement with the “Deadpool” sequel during a “Meet the Movie Press” podcast, saying that the actor’s name has been “floating around for Cable for months.” The insider close to the situation tells TheWrap that Miller wanted the “Bloodline” star to play Cable, though Reynolds did not and that the studio, ultimately, backed its marketable star.

This parting of ways should have both fans and the studio spooked. After all, Miller’s fingerprints are all over the first film, which was a surprise box office smash hit. Per Box Office Mojo, “Deadpool” hauled in north of $782 million globally on a budget of $58 million. Domestically, the comic book adaptation made $363 million.

“Deadpool” opened No. 1 on Valentine’s Day weekend, scoring $132 million from U.S. theaters. The R-rated X-Men franchise film was the year’s big box office release story until “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” showed up in late March.

That DC Comics blockbuster backed up a Brink’s truck to the tune of $873 million globally. The difference there is that “Deadpool” was generally received well by film critics, while “Batman v Superman” was panned.

The “Deadpool” sequel has been written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the same guys who wrote the first film.

“Deadpool 2” will feature popular character Domino, and screen tests are underway for Kelly Rohrbach, Eve Hewson, Ruby Rose, Mackenzie Davis, Lizzy Caplan, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Sienna Miller, Sofia Boutella, Stephanie Sigman and Sylvia Hoeks.

Like Deadpool, Neena Thurman — a.k.a. Domino — is a former mercenary turned member of the X-Men.

not my first choice but I coulds see it - he is pretty solid when playing a man of few words
unassuming disciplined haunted

idk what it is about his face but I just can't stand that fucking dude...he just looks like a fucking jackoff...it's unexplainable...he's been on TV/movies for a minute but he's a lousy actor imo

lol
so he fucks off in all of these roles before.
finds one that even he couldn't fuck up
and decides to flex on the director that made the shit a hit?
sounds about right.
casting approval as an actor in the film like... nvm

good luck

tim was like we need to keep it r, add more style to it not a lot but a little more to step our game up keep the essence of the character but also make it so that it can't be denied or pigeonholed it can be revolutionary

ryan is like nah i was thinking van wilder 2

Nope. Deadpool should be just like the 1st was. You don't know this character. What i say about people who don't read the books tryin to comment on the movies? The director didn't make this a hit. He did.

Kyle does not have the look. Remember, Cable is Psyclops son from the future. They need an older person.

neither of them did the writer's made it a hit which ryan wasn't a member of.
it was more than likely going to stay the same and ryan more than likely wanted it way more raunchy.
sounds basically like a pissing power contest. director cast someone ryan says no. line in the sand is drawn nobody blinked director left.

That's not what he said. You can't guess and assume shit when he SAID he was trying to make it different.

Star of the movie. Was Ryan Reynolds. Jokes delivered...by Ryan reynolds. Direction wanted to make it "stylized" No Deadpool. Read the book. Then come jibber jabber at me.

kyle fucking chandler as cable?????? ya good fucking riddance @ tim miller

Chandler is a GREAT actor he could do CABLE...

but I think that I would have went with Jon Hamm or Stephen Lang or J. K. Simmons

but this isn't good...

the writers the director and Reynolds ALL gave their blood and sweat to make this happen

remember this movie was NEVER going to happen

and the studio NEVER believed it would do these numbers

this is sad really...they should have came together to make this happen

And based merely on this ONE report?

Ryan and proved that he is WORTHY of this type of authority...what he done on his own?

Why mess with a working formula?

And honestly on first blush I agree with the director...they can''t do the SAME movie again...

why not try to go BETTER??? More refined more heart more realty mixed in with his insanity?

Cause I don't think they breaking the bank with THREE of the same movie...

Let's take Captain America as an example...each film was a COMPLETELY Y different genre.

I like Steve Lang but practically I want them to cast younger - like 35 or 40
This Cable will be the guy that an XForce movie will be launched on
