Former Oklahoma LB Brian Bosworth Thinks Bob Stoops Should Be Out

Whoa, as a lifelong Sooner fan, Bob is not the issue its Mike Stoops. After the Switzer days Oklahoma was mediocre from Gary Gibbs, John Blake, to Howard Schleeneberg. I understand the frustration from other OU fans but people don't understand how hard it is to be in the hunt for a national title almost every year. I didn't like how he screwed over Brent Venrables when he brought his brother back. Bob Stoops is OU's all time winning coach he's not like Bobby Bowden or Joe Paterno who let the game pass them by.

Okla is Nebraska. The recruiting landscape has changed. The game has changed. They are human now.:dunno:

They should move on though. Try something different. It's not going to be a like it was though, as Bos wants it to be.

He would be a G if he went to LSU and snag up ALL them recruits and fuck the SEC up.

It would be hella championship coaches all in that conference alone famo

Im an OU fan as well. Im not an expert I just follow becuase my bro played for them. Why do you feel weve gotten sooooo close to National Championships and lost them?

I think Bob gave his coaches to much Liberty when it came to game planning scouting and when it came to game prep. Especially the defense, I can tell in his first 3 years at OU he brought that same attacking style of defense from Florida but let Mike Leach do his thing with the Air Raid offense. In coaching circles as head coach you gotta be the CEO and not have your thumb in one side of the ball while you give Liberty in the other side of the ball. Look at Saban he's the best in the business, but not afraid to chew Lane Kiffin's or Kirby Smart's ass not behind closed doors but right on tv. Plus having his brother there doesn't help he feels he has to be loyal to these guys, which leads to us losing in the championship games. Case in point our loses to USC, LSU, and Florida. It seems like the first championship against FSU he had total control of all phases of the game. He had a vision and a plan for all phases of the game, then after that it seems like he entrusted that to his coordinators. As a coach myself it very hard to do have your hand in everything thing, but it's his team and he has to do what he feels will get them the win. I also think that he's at odds with his brother on the defensive side of the ball, where Mike Stoops wants to run a 3-4 New England Patriots style defense, where Bob wants an attacking 4-3/4-2 style he had in Florida. I think it should be back to that attacking style of defense in that 4-3/4-2-5 with the athletes we have.

Comes down to coaching and an inability to make adjustments at half time.

They lose their games at the start of the 2nd half.

I used to think it was OU not being elite when facing better competition but the script is the same in damn near every loss.

Bet.

OU and Texas should bolt to the SEC instead of trying to save the Big 12...only Problem is Texas A&M will never vote in favor of anything involving Texas

Neither will the SEC, nor LSU or Arkansas. What would be the benefit for the SEC? They already have Texas covered now and Oklahoma isn't bringing many tv sets by adding that region. It's all about the media markets.
