They would be foolish to get rid of Strong even if he goes .500 this season with Houston potentially coming into the b12.

Wouldn't be wise to creating coaching instability with another school coming into your conference in the same state.

He went 6-7 his first season and and 5-7 in his second season. That is a record of 11-14.

That is not going to cut it at a school like Texas. 4 losses probably gets him fired because they will be hot after Herman

8-4 should keep him there. He's finally playing with his own recruits. If he gets to 8, they'll give him one more season.

If Strong went 500 there is nothing to save his job. Also it depends on if Herman wants the job

I'm happy for Charlie getting this win. They still made a lot of mistakes, but were able to overcome them unlike last year. I'm also happy because these Louisville Petrino worshippers won't be able to say how big a mistake Charlie made in taking the Texas job and how unloyal he was to the Louisville AD for not staying with Louisville.

What those assholes don't understand most of his peers have been Head coaches for much longer. Charlie didn't get his his first head coaching job til he was 50!. Saban was a headcoach at 39, Bret Bielema at 36, Gus Malzahn at 45, Will Muschamp at 40. He gotta reach for that ring when it was offered because he was already behind schedule.

They would probably pay him more than Saban is paid to get him there too.

I think he would have an easier job recruiting @ UH than at Texas but UT is UT.

More overall kids for UT to pick from but the collection of talent in and around the Houston area makes them a potential LSU type squad.
