What shit y'all rocking for Fall 2016?

x4SL7zI.gif
i can't believe people didn't know this

to that same point i will never get when people say Jay-z said this so people started saying it...??? i guess i ain't paying that close attention to what them niggas call shit

Where you from Suge?

My fall will be more sweaters and sportscoats. I'm digging vests boots and scarves.

I've been eyeing a Burberry trench at 2 different outlets one in Chi the other in Pembrook Pines. Trying to decide on the cut and color.
If they're at an outlet snatch up the one that's Burberry London, if they both are then snatch em both. Those shits rarely hit outlets out here and when they do if you're not quick they'll be gone by the time you decide

Almost nobody knows this.

And I'm not sure how big a hip hop head you are, but when Jay started really popping hard, he switched from jerseys to button-ups, "grown man" stuff. Even though they were long and untucked and he rocked that Yankee fitted with them lol.

The streets followed suit and the button up became a fashion trend, and so moved to the VIP room of black vernacular. Except somehow button down became the name they were known by, despite Jay never referencing them that way.

I've never heard or used the term button down when referencing a dress shirt.

i guess it depends on where you from around here they have always been "button downs" because the collar buttoned down.....a non button down was just a shirt or dress shirt

in fact that's how they are mostly labeled when you go the the department store or shop online

don't be sheep. wear whatever the fuck you want.

you dress like a background nigga in an old ass cash money video...I def dress better/more mature than you...just looking to add some new ideas to what I already have going on

Why you asking niggas who you don't kno opinions about what YOU should wear???

read above...not that serious

Clearly I'm familiar with the correct terminology.

My point is pop culture and indeed culture at large has termed them incorrectly, and black popular culture began to use (or misuse) the term more when Jay started wearing them?

Question, how old are you?

OP I don't know your style, and I don't know if you specified what occasion you want to dress for. The older I get, the simpler I like to dress. Not big on name brands anymore.

I mentioned Pinterest earlier, you should be able to get some ideas.

I'm on my phone at work. But maybe you can start here ^^^ and play around with the search button.

I'm business casual pretty much all day everyday so I'm rocking a lot of Banana Republic stuff and some J. Crew... like was already mentioned they have HEAVY discounts often.

If you want the BEST dress shirts out in my opinion, get that Charles Tyrwhitt. They have some good sales every once in awhile. When they have one its best to cop about 4-5 joints.
Pants you can cop from Nordstrom Rack/ Hautelook.

same...primarily button down casual shirts...usually striped/checkered design (don't like plain shits for casual wear) slim fit w/ a colored t-shirt underneath...levis 513...not skinny not baggy just right...back to the shirts I don't buy brands for the name but I do stick w/ certain brands that fit me right...ex. izod and KC reaction (leaning more toward formal) shirts...def need some more shoes for relaxing...have too many sneakers...the "occasion" is shit I can get away w/ wearing on the street but also @ work...I'll check out the link...thanks!

*edit*

@ a glance that link is great...I tried looking up ideas for menswear fall 2016 and seen a whole bunch of hipster doofus shit that normal ppl just simply do not wear...so I said lemme make this thread...that link is exactly what I was looking for...thanks again...everything in my wardrobe is starting to look the same so I just wanted some diff ideas

why do you ask?

Round here fall is about as cold as it'll get. Meaning probably in the 50s during the day. That bay breeze at night.
When it gets a little cool but not completely cool I'm going with bomber jackets. I like Elwood's
I have this in 3 different colors.

As the hitman said, extra chilly, the right pea coat rules the world. imo stick to navy or black but I prefer navy.
If you're out to be "cute" then maybe Sand colored with a navy suit and tan dress shoes. I'm not "cute" yet.
can't go wrong with the right pair of boat shoes. for a semi-formal not relaxed casual setting.
you can get whatever color you want but imo nothing says fall like beige/brown/tan boat shoes. they really pop with your surroundings plus bring a style to whatever it is you're matching.

Jeans? standard (if there is such a thing) Levi's etc etc
I'm really into Chino's REGULAR FIT not slim fit
image1xxl.jpg

ignore the flooding you can get a pair that fit over the shoe but the way they fit on the leg is what i go for. also they are dope with the right pair of sneakers too and kind of upscale your shoes that would be scaled down with just regular jeans. crazy how it plays but it's true.
im not a sweater guy, i used to be but not now so i can't really give you advice on those.
cardigans - simple smooth ones.
personally i like light colored ones in fall.

I'm involved in education and feel it is my responsibility to dress up for the kids as a role model.

So I wear fly dress shirts (plaid every now and again) , slacks, nice dress shoes like Loafers.

Later this year, on Fridays, I will wear high-end jeans with some Timbs.

These kids don't like to give you any credit, though. I once wore some expensive Jordan's (to let them know they can serve their community while looking hip, too). And they accused me of stealing them from somebody. I know they were joking but still.

You cats are giving this man style tips as if he asked what to wear to his new job. Fam just wants to freshen up his falls after hours/weekend look... At least that's how I took it. I left some shit out because I already know fam knows some shit, peacoats, toggle coats, duffle coats... NONE of that is fall shit to me, that's winter gear.

Since we're saying shit we should all know, fit is king. as long as you aren't wearing one of them Chicago buck 50 watch hats you could bag a bitch in a members only jacket and Sal's pizzeria tee if it fits properly

checked both sites out...too rich for my blood tho

All that shit is not necessary to be honest. Don't get caught up in super expensive eye catching labels for jeans and sweats, spend your bread on a jacket.

I learned my lesson after the Evisu and red monkey craze... Dropping 350-500 on jeans, nigga why?! How much burn you really gonna get out of a $300 sweater, $400 pair of jeans? I rather be the nigga with NO Kenzo/Versace sweater than be clowned on some "damn is that your only sweater nigga?!" Because that's what's gonna happen :dunno: if I see you in that tiger sweater at the club one week, I better not see it again for a minute

I used to dress up when I first started...it was either shirt and tie...or shirt untucked w/ a sports jacket every day...and I'd be lying if I said it didn't make a positive impression on the kids which I needed to do early on...but as I became more solidified in the game so to speak...comfort became more of a necessity for me

don't need to tell me...to each his own tho but ya...I spend the $$$ on items that I know I can maintain and will last for years...so I don't mind spending big on coats shoes/sneakers...but shirts and jeans and sweaters don't last long enough for me to be shelling out that kinda $$$ after a year or so of washing them shits they pretty much done
