Questions for the Barbers on the board

Seeing how we have folk from all walks of life and many different professions, I was wondering just how many Barbers do we have here.

And for the Barbers that are here, where do you go to stay on top of all the latest and greatest Barber tech and innovations? Is there a Barber forum sorta like what we have here? I know I used a couple forums for staying on top of everything DJ related, but I've never come across one for Barbering besides YouTube and now IG.

Not a licensed barber, been cutting my own hair since I was 15 . In my 40s now. I never really kept up with a site or blog. I've rocked all kinda cuts from the box-fade to a tapered fro. Taught myself how to fade/taper, then mastered the lines. Learned to free-hand/no guard so I could get the shapes right. Cut many other heads too in my day.

Not a barber but my boy is one. His dad owns the shop. The shop hasn't changed in 40 years. They still do ok.
Come to think about it, It's an "old man" barbershop. Kind of like the one in "Coming to America" their clientele is 30 years old and up.

I cut my own hair(for years)..but learned to taper the back and sides from YouTube..matter of fact I cut my hair today and I'm pleased.. I've gotten better and better over time..never cut nobody else hair but I think I could.. I just ordered this off if Amazon.. I have saved money and time.. I'm going to learn to do parts next..my homies say my shit look like a licence barber cut my hair but it was me..still got ways to go..when Mohawks was Poppin.. I hooked mine up..right now I rock the Caesar.. I hookup my beard or goatee.. it's a good thing to know how to cut your hair...

I just ordered this..can't wait to learn how to use this...

Think IG may be your best bet.

I have been cutting my own hair since 14. I was the neighborhood barber and when I was in college I was the dorm's barber. I had a nice hustle. It kept me flushed plus kickbacks from the boosters. Now I cut my boys hair, great father son bonding time. I still miss it when I used to trim my Pop's hair and beard. I still get to do it around the holidays though.

From what I've heard, that works pretty well. Looks like it would be awkward to use. Let me know your take on it once you use it.
