Just like Eric Striker Sterling is a special talent, can't wait to see him play for Big Blue.
There was a lot of excitement when the Giants drafted wide receiver Sterling Shepard out of Oklahoma in the second round of this year's NFL Draft.
And so far, Shepard is certainly living up to the hype, and then some. The rookie wideout has carried over a strong offseason program and is putting together a stand-out camp so far this summer. Shepard continued to impress Thursday by hauling in everything thrown his way during the morning practice, including a deep ball over cornerback Matt Smalley for a score during defensive back vs. receiver drills.
"He's a good player," wideout Victor Cruz said earlier in camp. "I saw him obviously all OTA's and what not and he runs really crisp in and out of routes, understands the game, understands what he has to do, but he's still a rook so I have to make him pick up my pads.
The Giants organization has been throughly impressed with Shepard since he arrived. The belief is he will be a star next to Odell Beckham Jr. and, they hope, Cruz.
"He's a talent. It's not hard to see," former Giants wideout David Tyree said earlier this year. "He's one of the players that stand out just by the nature of his explosiveness. I think he's going to be a good addition to this football team."
