Suicide Squad Fans Petition To Shut Down Rotten Tomatoes After 'Unfair' Movie Reviews

Move over Batman, there's a new team of vigilantes fighting for DC Comics' universe — no, not Suicide Squad, it's Suicide Squad's internet fans. On Tuesday, comic book-enthusiastics banned together to sign a petition against Rotten Tomatoes after the review aggregator posted a mere 36%approval rating of the movie. This approval rating, or "tomatometer" means that, of the 64 reviews currently collected by the site only that percentage of critics gave it a positive response. It should be noted that the reviews gathered come from widely-read publications and media outlets, and are not just generated by some dude sitting behind a computer who calls himself "Rotten Tom Ato."

Despite the negative rating not necessarily being a reflection of that website's opinion of the film, one fan, Abdullah Coldwater of Alexandria, Egypt, took to change.com to demand Rotten Tomatoes end its review sharing ways. The petition is short and direct: "We need this site to be shut down, because it's [sic] critics always give the DC Extended Universe movies unjust bad reviews" and adding, "that affects people's opinion even if it's a really great movies [sic]." As of this post being published, 4,874 caped-by-internet-anonymity crusaders have signed the petition in defense of the film that has not yet opened to the general public.

They act like RT reviews the movies themselves. It basically is just using the average score. I guess the "critics are just Marvel lighthearted fanboys" talk will continue.

the review scores are weighted... Top critics carry more into the average
Even worse- for example- the Buzzfeed cunt is a recognized as a top critic even though her reviews show that she is ignorant of film history, literature or even geek culture - all she knows or cares about is feminism - but RT recognizes her as a "top critic"

I see. Sick of buzzfeed.

Why you ninjas so obsessed with this movie/show or whatever, did a black man/woman direct suicide squad or someshit

 Proof the 'nets are overrun with idiots.
As a kid, I never trusted the reviews in the daily newspapers. And those were national writers with name recognition. Then there were the reviews on aintitcool. Those guys were the worst. With the right reviewer, studios could influence a review by granting some bozo access. I still say glorious QuickTime when watching any trailer.

I don't trust any of these internet mofos. I still judge a movie from a trailer. I have yet to see a film with a good trailer where the movie sucked.

The worst movie I have ever seen was the punisher 2.

So....no petition to demand the firing of every executive at WB who oversees the DCCU?

"I can accept a bad movie, but what I can't accept is someone else's written opinion on a bad movie."

1. We got two black leads headlining this thing. One is a superstar black man and the other is an award winning black woman.

2. This needs to succeed so that same black woman can Sam Jackson herself into ALL the DC films.

3. This needs to succeed so that same black man can star in Ben's next Batflick and also star in his own new vehicle with Ayers as director - Bright.

4. Plus, David Ayers got all kinda connections going back to the hood. He lived in South Central, always writes stories about crooked ass, fake ass Police and is a true student of our culture.

5. Besides that, we geeks and sweaties here.

My issue with this is that DC had no gameplan since it took SS to introduce her. Amanda Waller and Lex Jr. should have been around since the beginning even if in small doses. Marvel had Fury in Iron Man and Tony Stark in Hulk to start things off the proper way. If they let this movie decide her fate then they are just lost.

YES!

Well sort of, it should have started with Green Latern and Angela Bassett was Amanda Waller then. Mark Strong was set up as the new villain, they set up the Lantern Corps. When that film tanked, all the talk of a networked universe was scrapped. But then came Man of Steel, they were on the move and Bassett was out, Davis was in. And then she won the award and it was like, wait yall got Viola Davis DO SOMETHING WB! I dunno what happened. She could've been in BVS too, they just didn't do anything.

Even the Lex move was weird. I get what they were trying to do to match our society but it just didn't hold true. This will be the fourth movie in a row where audiences are split.

WB are already lost fam. That much is clear.
