Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

I get the winter locations, but they are prolly giving ya boy time to finish the books too. Thus the short seasons. :dunno:
there r two more books and it takes about 10 years for George to finish one book so no. At this point the Series and the books are pretty different, I'm sure the endings will probably be the same but how they get to it will definitely be different

Game of Thrones’ Bran Teases His Discussion With Jon Snow About His Dad

“By the way, I’m a tree wizard"
We finally know that Jon Snow is not, in fact, Ned Stark’s son. But when will he find out?

During a Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con Friday actor Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays Bran, predicted that his newfound knowledge about Jon’s parentage might not go over so well with the King of the North.

“Bran knows he’s been shown this information for a reason, he might not know exactly why, but it’s obviously imperative he knows this and will spread the word,” the actor said. He said he thinks the conversation with Jon might go something like this: “By the way, I’m a tree wizard, and your dad isn’t your dad.”

Ian McShane Has No Regrets About SpoilingGame of Thrones

23-mcshane-comic-con.w245.h368.jpg

Ian McShane, dressed in a ball cap and a barely buttoned silk shirt, proved to be a convivial Comic-Con presence last Friday when Vulture found him at a cocktail party for the cable channel Starz. McShane was in San Diego to promote his role as Mr. Wednesday in Bryan Fuller’s upcoming adaptation of the Neil Gaiman work American Gods, but after a little chat, we asked if we could discuss his recent gig on Game of Thrones. “If you must,” McShane said, laughing.

McShane appeared on the seventh episode of this past season as a warrior-turned-septon who mentors the long-lost Hound (Rory McCann), though he doesn’t survive to see episode eight. “They said it’s a good, juicy, one-episode part that has a big monologue, and we’d love you to go and do it,” said McShane. “Also my grandkids are huge fans of the show, and my son is, so it was kinda like, yeah, absolutely, why not?” And though, with Deadwood, McShane once toplined an entire HBO show himself, he was content this time to simply cameo. “I didn’t want to do the whole thing, the whole series,” he said. “It’s a good plot. I got hung. I’m outta there, man.”

Months before his episode aired, McShane gave a revealing interview where he basically implied that he’d be bringing back the long-thought-dead Hound, and he has no patience for anyone who’s still put off by his spoiler. “They take it very seriously, some people,” McShane sniffed. “Dear God! I mean, I didn’t have to sign one of those contracts where you don’t talk about it. And on the other hand, if you tease it up, more people will watch it. So it wasn’t exactly bad publicity for HBO, you know?”

Has he ever been the sort of person to take his acting roles too seriously? “No,” said McShane. “Seriously enough to be quite good at it, but not seriously enough to think Game of Thrones is gonna change my life.”

Anyone check out Barbarians Rising on the History Channel. It's a damn good story of various rebel uprising that challenged the Roman expansion. And there's a bunch of Game of Thrones actors in there. I caught Meryn Trant, Barristan Selmy, the Blackfish, and even the princess Shireen. There were probably some other ones that I missed.

Forget telling Jon . Who is going to tell her...

Bran "The Tree Wizard" may find himself as a couple of end tables in her living room.

I read there is going to be a Sansa vs Jon conflict, next season.

I don't understand, why there should be a conflict when Jon did everything,he could despite Sansa not telling him what's going on...... :smh:

That's just someone who has nothing to do with the show's opinion.

Jon and Sansa may have teamed up to take back Winterfell, but is their bond as brother and sister as strong as it seems to be?

Variety was in attendance during Game of Thrones’ annual appearance in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con where actress Sophie Turner teased that Sansa may not be so keen on the idea of Jon being crowned King of the North.

“I don’t think she believes Jon is capable of running Winterfell and the north; she doesn’t think he has the intellect, the knowledge, the experience that she has, and I concur,” said Turner at the panel as reported by Variety.

Though Turner said Sansa may not think Jon is cut out to lead the only home they’ve ever known, she also added that Jon’s wonderful “Stark morals” may be the key that allows him to succeed.

“Inevitably he’ll make the good decision, but whether it’s going to benefit anyone is another story,” added Turner.

Turner’s insight into Sansa has got us wondering what Jon Snow’s new title as ruler of Winterfell will do to their newfound relationship as brother and sister. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing how their storyline plays out when Game of Thronespicks back up again next year.

How the fuck does Sansa have the knowledge and intellect to run something.....At least,Jon commanded the Nights Watch, before he died.

Slight book spoiler

But really shouldn't matter

I am 2/3 thru book 3 just finished chapter on Dany when she meets Diario who gets the 2nd sons on her Team.

Lil nugget drop casually but I think will become relevant soon...

While asking questions about her brother rhagar Dany thinks back to what viseries used to say to her, he blamed her for being born too late. He said had she been born earlier rhagar would have married her and not been forced to marry Elia Martell.

Looking back got to appreciate the irony that she has these thoughts as she meets the man who will become her lover, while season six shows them separating due to her need to be free to form a marriage alliance in Westeros. Add to that the fact that I firmly believe that the marriage alliance she makes will be with rhagars son... Well that is what you call coming full circle.

If GRRM were smart he'd pitch this to HBO,Syfy or USA..

Game of Thrones is ending in two years, but George R.R. Martin isn’t done with television yet. In fact, he says an even bigger world is on the way. Martin posted on his LiveJournal Saturday that Universal Cable Productions (part of NBC Universal) has acquired the rights to adapt his long-running anthology series Wild Cards.

For those who don’t know, Wild Cards is a series of shared universe anthologies, mosaic novels, books, and graphic novels written by a group of 30 authors (called the Wild Cards Trust) and edited by Martin and Melinda M. Snodgrass. The first novel, Wild Cards, came out in 1987. Since then, there have been 22 installments in the franchise. The next one comes out later this month, and three others are on the way.

Wild Cards is all about an alternate post-WWII universe where an alien virus killed 90 percent of the people it infected. Most of the survivors were twisted and deformed into so-called jokers, cursed with bizarre mental or physical disabilities. The remaining few, as Martin put it, “became blessed with extraordinary and unpredictable powers and became aces.”

Martin called the news “exciting” for Wild Cards fans, but those aren’t the only people he’s reaching out to. Much like Game of Thrones was for fantasy, Martin thinks Wild Cards could be that sort of more-mature series for comic book fans.

“It is a universe, as large and diverse and exciting as the comic book universes of Marvel and DC (though somewhat grittier, and considerably more realistic and more consistent),” Martin wrote. “There are thousands of stories to be told in the world of the Wild Cards.”

While Martin was vague as to what stories could actually be told, he did (almost) promise one. “You will be seeing Croyd Crenson, no matter shape the eventual show or shows ends up taking. It wouldn’t be Wild Cards without the Sleeper.”

No word when the series would start being developed for a network, though Martin hopes it’s in “the next year or two.” Martin said he won’t be personally involved with the production of the series, given his ties to HBO and commitment to finishing that damned The Winds of Winter book. However, he said co-editor Snodgrass is signing on as executive producer.

its good stories in that series - but NBC/Universal is the wrong company for this...
FX AMC Stars... all are better...
these lazy cheap fucks are most likely going run this on SyFy with a flea market budget and no established talent in front or behind the camera

Game Of Thrones Season 7 Casting Info Released

(Photo: HBO)

After finishing Game of Thrones’ last season, fans have lots to be curious about. Season 6 ended with Daenery preparing to invade Westros while Jon Snow and Cersei Lannister fought two very different wars. aS the show now so removed from George R.R. Martin’s eponymous novels, it’s difficult for fans to now predict where HBO’s series will head next season - but isn't stopping them from trying. With a new list of Season 7 casting calls circulating around the Internet, it’s time for fans to dust of their sleuthing skills.

Courtesy of Watchers on the Wall, several casting calls for next season have made their way online for curious fans. The list contains 9 different roles, and of course, the descriptions hold off on naming any characters. If you want to check out the list, feel free to read it below, but do be warned! Spoiler could lie ahead!

General, in the age range 40 – 55. He’s a senior military officer, and they’re looking for a white actor who uses the British RP accent. The actor is needed for the week of September 6th.

Priest, in his 60’s. He’s a venerable priest with moral authority and gravitas. The show is seeking a white actor, using an RP accent, with characterful face for this part. He’s scheduled to shoot one week, from September 22nd.

Warrior, in the 35 – 45 age range. The character is a tough-looking bruiser with the attack skills of a pit bull, and the actor needs to be great at fighting. He has a “considerable” amount of dialogue as well. It’s described as an “excellent part for a top-end actor.” Helpful clues in the description? We know it’s not a Dothraki character as the actor for the role is required to be white, and they’re asking for a neutral and non-posh English accent. This role is currently scheduled to shoot across October.

Gate Guard, in his 20’s. The character is described as a “Confident, characterful, straight-talking Northern lad with a great face to play across a very excellent series of scenes.” They’re looking someone with wit, timing, and charisma. He’s currently scheduled to film between mid-October and mid-November.

City Guard, in his 30’s. The show is casting for a city guard who intercepts a suspicious-looking person on his nightly patrol. They require an RP accent for this one. He’s set to shoot for a week in mid-October.

Merchant, in his 40’s. The merchant appears at an inn during a busy evening. They’re seeking a character actor, for a non-combatant role. His appearance is more open, including ethnicity/race. That suggests a character appearing somewhere in Essos- or a place we’ve never been before, since Daenerys is now on the move. This part is scheduled to shoot the first week of November.

Lovely Lady. Ah yes, what would Game of Thrones be without its courtesans and nudity. The show is casting for an attractive young courtesan who is sure of her own mind. It’s described as a “good speaking part” and casting notes that full nudity is required for the role. Similar to the merchant, the lovely lady’s physical appearance is open, indicating this role is for somewhere on Essos, or at a new location. She’s scheduled to shoot for one week in early October.

Young Lord in his late 20’s. He’s a tall, handsome young lord, and the show is looking for a white actor who uses the RP accent. He’s scheduled to shoot in the week commencing September 20th.

Lieutenant, in his 20’s. The character is described as an athletic, physically fit, and disciplined warrior. Appearance-wise, they’re looking for someone not white, with Middle Eastern descent mentioned. This bears the hallmarks of a Dothraki character description. He’s set to shoot several days across three weeks, between mid-September and mid-November.”

Clearly, a whole host of new characters will be hitting Game of Thrones next season. However, it does look like most of these roles are shooting for a short time, indicating the characters will likely star in an episode or two before (probably) being killed off. After all, that’s kind of Game of Thrones’ thing.

Still, there are a couple of notable casting calls. The priest, for instance, is grabbing attention in the wake of Cersei’s bombastic actions last season. Since she did pretty much blown up the Sept of Baelor, another religious figurehead might crop up in King’s Landing following Cersei’s coronation.

The warrior casting description is also creating buzz, mostly because it indicates the role is perfectly suited for a “top-end actor.” Whoever is cast as the character will be shooting for a month, leading fans to believe the character won’t be in for a simple cameo. Another character, Gate Guard, is also set to shoot over an entire month. As both roles request white actors with non-posh and Northern accents respectively, fans are speculating the two characters could be connected in some way to Jon Snow.

As for the rest of the characters, the call sheet says the show needs a lot of RP. If you’re not sure what that is, RP stands for ‘received pronunciation,” otherwise known as ‘Queen’s English’ or ‘BBC English.’ It’s considered the standard, and more posh, English accent in comparison to the UK's regional fare. Most often, RP is heard in Game of Thrones through higher-class families and residents of King’s Landing. So, it's likely that the city is getting some new faces to replace those which Cersei got rid of.

For now, fans can speculate about what these casting calls mean as shooting for Game of Thrones’ seventh season heads underway. The season, though, will be a bit different from its predecessors as HBO announced Season 7 will appropriately contain seven episodes when it airs next year.

How the fuck does Sansa have the knowledge and intellect to run something.....At least,Jon commanded the Nights Watch, before he died.
It seems Sansa Stark has her Cersei Lannister cap on. Cersei thinks she is so smart, but as her father said she isn't as smart as she thinks she is. Sansa is going to end up fucking up everything because as many women she is short-sighted

The “Game of Thrones” showrunners have FINALLY explained *that* Cersei and Jaime moment

The “Game of Thrones” showrunners have FINALLY explained *that* Cersei and Jaime moment

It seems we can’t finish an episode — much less a season — of Game of Throneswithout having a gazillion questions. (Remember the end of last season when we couldn’t decide whether or not Jon Snow was truly dead?) Well, in a recent interviewwith Deadline, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss answered some questions that have been plaguing us. Warning: spoilers to follow.

game

On that final look between Cersei and Jaime when she’s crowned queen:
Benioff & Weiss: We don’t remember the specific wording, but it’s definitely a moment where Jaime has to start coming to terms with how drastically and irrevocably everything in his world has changed — political arrangements, his personal life, everything. He knew his sister was capable of big plays, but this is another level. And Cersei’s look back to him…well, he’s probably always known that she was in charge in their relationship. Now he really knows it.

cersei

On Cersei’s state of mind (or lack thereof):
Benioff & Weiss: We had intended the connection you just made, so we’re glad you made it. If she had been more focused on her family, and less focused on enjoying her revenge on someone who had done her wrong, then Tommen’s suicide probably never would have happened. That’s what so much of next season is going to be about; finding out what Cersei’s mindset is, and who is she? Cersei has certainly done a lot of horrible things in her life and she could be a very cruel person, but the one thing that was redemptive about her was she genuinely loved her children. Now they’re all gone, and I think that is very interesting for us. Who is she, without her children? The answer is something you’ll find out about next season.

cersei

On what characters were the most fun to write:
Benioff & Weiss: In the past season or two, things have finally started to contract in a very positive way. It was such an expansive world for such a long time, but things have really started coming together. Obviously, we had to say goodbye to a lot of characters and storylines we loved a lot. The ones that are left are ones we’ve been engaged in so long. Writing for Maisie [Williams] is always great, writing for Peter [Dinklage] and Emilia [Clarke] is great, especially now that they’ve come together in the same storyline. Writing all the stuff for Kit [Harington] and all of the epic stuff he gets to go through now. There isn’t anyone left we don’t love writing for, because we’ve been writing for them for so long. We know them so well at this point.

jon

Ramsay Bolton (the bastard!) was almost Jon Snow?!
Interviewer: You’ve said that Iwan Rheon was runner-up to Kit Harington when you cast Jon Snow. He doesn’t seem to have the heartthrob vibe, the liquid brown eyes, the empathy present in Harington’s character. What did he bring to the table that made you consider him for the hero role that was so opposite the villainous character he played in Ramsay Bolton?

If GRRM were smart he'd pitch this to HBO,Syfy or USA..

Yeah I was a big fan of the Wind Cards series when I was younger. The books are GREAT!!
