NBA Offseason 2016 - FreeAgency money dried up...Waiters gets $2.6 after OKC pulled $6+ offer...

This is the main problem with the superteam stuff.

The NFL is so popular in part because 75% of the fan bases believe their team can win it all. They keep some kind of parity.

Rockets are ass, so I'll watch, but I'm not paying that much attention to the NBA until the playoffs.

Yeah but I think you in the minority. When Lebron and Bosh joined the heat everyone tuned in to see them lose or to see them win. It made the NBA exciting again. The same teams that have a shot at a ring this year are the same ones as last year...... Unless you thought the Thunder had a shot last year than cross them off.

Unless there are some serious injuries, Cavs coming out the east. Shit, they came out the east in 2015 with Kyrie only playing 2 games in the ECF and Love playing none.

This season is going to be boring for people who aren't Cavs, GS, or Spurs fans.

Naw bro, shit gonna still be good...

There will be great games, just like last year

Exactly

It's only 3 teams in the NBA with a chance to win the title this year and it's never more than 5

The whole west vs east thing is more arguing about the 2nd and 3rd tier teams and honestly who cares at this point

If you ain't a fan of the Warriors, Spurs, or Cavs your team ain't about to do shit hate to break the news to ya

And to your point about the NFL has much more parity it's not even close. It's actually competitive, fans know things can change from one year to the next they can buy in and see about good drafts change the landscape of their team

The NBA always been like this though parity or not. The same 3 or 4 teams winning rings.

That's what I'm saying

This ain't new at all NBA always been like this only difference is the players have more control of their careers that's it

Never been no damn parity most teams just going through the motions the NBA is the ultimate haves and have nots

Why you think it has more bandwagon fans than any other sport

Either you root for second place or hop on a bandwagon lol. Or pray you them rare exceptions like Dallas or Pistons.

shit (reg. season) been boring longer than that

Football ratings kill every other sport. Even ratings for the draft. Draft camps. Preseason games. Shit. Even now, people check in on their favorite teams and there's not shit going on.

If you ask the average NFL fan, unless you're a fan of the Browns, you're excited about the season AND excited about your team. YOUR team, not just watching to see if NE goes undefeated.

Even when NE went 16-0, that shit was second to what your team was doing.

And basketball has been this way for years. I'm just saying it hurts interest in the sport. I mean, be honest, are you really excited about the Mavs season next year?

Aren't you a hell of a lot more excited about the Cowboys?

West always going to have competitive games. East........ Not so much.
That's dying . Only two teams have improved drastically in the West, Dallas and GS. Spurs got a little better with Pau.
Quite a few teams got better in the East, and are worth watching more than they were last season.

That's because football been planted into minds as the best sport.

unless the knicks add the reincarnation of magic johnson to their squad mixed w/ a little bit of jordan they ain't making much noise this season...2nd round @ best

Second round at best is a good starting point..on paper the team looks serious however we have to wait to see how this all pans out

NBA usually has some illusions. Even in 2016, folks could have said the Clippers had a chance(until injuries). Now, folks are just saying Cavs/GS, why even play the games?

Shit, I'm a Cavs fans and want the regular season to be over with and NBA 2k17 ain't even drop yet. I don't even know how fans of the other teams even want to watch this shit. Folks minus whale hop on a bandwagon(don't got to tell certain BGOL cats about that though).

Last season had the regular season record, but now chasing that again won't mean as much.

That's on him though.... In his prime he took a pay cut for Bosh didn't he?
.
Basically... Nobody put a gun to his head and made him sign those short cash deals....

Think about it... Dude signed for short money so another Dude could make more than him AND so the team could be better and make the ownership a lot of money...

When you think about it, no disrespect intended but Wade has been a dumb ass for a while now... :smh:

Speaking of the Brown, the board is going to crash when RG3 fucks up in Cleveland. Josh probably going to be the starter from the way things are sounding.

As for basketball, it's never been this bad. Lebron about to be in his 7th straight finals and GS is going to make the west look like the east.

That's not true at all..the nfl is popular because of gambling and the amount of games it plays..regardless of what team has a chance to win, if the nba only played once or twice a week and there was only 30-40 games a year; the popularity would go thru the roof...

They took less money to form the team and the super jew didn't want to break Mike Miller off. That was back in 2013. Wade should have known back then. That is some cheap, ungrateful type of shit. All over $2 million.

Yep... As fucked up as Riley is, and we all agree on that, to not be the highest paid player throughout your career is on him straight up...

So what does gambling and a lack of games have to do with how popular the draft and draft camps and the offseason is in the NFL?

I wish yall would stop making stuff up.

Wade was drafted in 2003. Eddie Jones was already on the Heat. So of course his contract was larger than a rookie. Shaq came the following year and was the highest paid until he left in 2008. Wade was still on his rookie deal.

In 2009 Jermaine O'Neal and Marion had larger contracts because Wade was still on his first deal.

2010 Jermaine O'Neal was still the highest paid.

2011 Lebron and Bosh came.

So can we dead the Wade was not the highest paid player

Dude, shit is on the same vein as a worker getting killed protecting the owners shit at 7-11 from a robber. Not the same in terms of severity, but in principle.

These players taking short money to improve the 'owners' team, while the owner is staying within the confines of the salary cap, etc. saving money, and the better the team gets, the owners are making money hand over fist, proceeds from merchandising, TV Deals, being able to charge a higher price for seats, full houses, all the while expecting the players to keep making sacrifices...

Thats why, no matter how 'SAD' he claims to say he is, Riley was like FUCK IT, you're older now, not one of the elite players anymore, I've gotten all I need out of your 'prime' years, go ahead and walk.. I ain't giving you SHIT!!!

After this shit calms down, Mickey will be much richer, Riley will be much richer, and the team will go on to plan B or whatever. They weren't winning a chip even with Wade, so what are they actually losing letting him walk. For ever Dollar me was paid, he probably contributed to 3 for them, so they stay winning.

I did some reading on this about a decade ago. The NBA easily ranks #1 in the U.S. as having the least parity. Essentially, every decade, 3 teams win titles over that decade. It's been like that since it's inception. It's a bit off this decade because Lebron switched teams but it would have kept pace this decade too. We all know the most likely outcome for the rest of this decade is a cavs/warriors matchup.

And the reasons they don't suffer is its a stars league

As long as they have superstars which they always will then people will still watch

I don't pay as much attention to the regular season as I have in some years past but I damn sure check for the playoffs always

It's hard when the only sports you like are football and basketball

Can't get into watching baseball at all
