Clinton's low-key start to her campaign 02:52
Washington (CNN)As recently as a year ago, Hillary Clinton was sparring with a public radio host about her position on same-sex marriage, defending her past reticence to discuss the issue and falling well short of full-throated support. Now, in a markedly new position, Clinton is offering just that, calling gay marriage a right afforded by the Constitution.

"Hillary Clinton supports marriage equality and hopes the Supreme Court will come down on the side of same-sex couples being guaranteed that constitutional right," said Adrienne Elrod, a Clinton spokeswoman, in a statement.
This is an entirely new position for Clinton.

As a candidate in 2008, Clinton opposed same-sex marriage, supporting the idea of civil unions instead. She did not proclaim her personal support for same-sex marriage until 2013, after she left her diplomatic position as secretary of state.
During a 2014 interview with NPR, Clinton and host Terry Gross sparred over the topic in a conversation that, at times, grew testy. Clinton told Gross that she always viewed marriage as "a matter left to the states and in many of the conversations I and my colleagues and supporters had, I fully endorse the efforts by activists to work state-by-state."
After a handful of questions on the topic, Gross said she was just trying to "clarify" whether Clinton had changed her opinion on the matter or whether the political winds on the issue had shifted, allowing Democrats' 2016 presidential frontrunner to come out in favor of same-sex marriage.
Clinton pushed back on the question, telling Gross, "No, I don't think you are trying to clarify. I think you are trying to say that I used to be opposed and now I am in favor and I did it for political reason and that is just flat wrong."
Clinton's argued that for the four years she served as secretary of state, she was "out of domestic politics" and not in a position to back same-sex marriage. She moved on the issue later than many Democrats, though, including President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
"And then leaving that position," Clinton said of her time at State, "I was able to very quickly announce that I was fully in support of gay marriage and that it is now continuing to proceed state-by-state."
Wednesday's statement, however, takes Clinton a step further, aligning the presidential candidate with many Democrats who hope that the Supreme Court will rule in favor of same-sex marriage as a constitutional right after they hear the case later this month.
Her campaign did not respond to questions about how the change came about for Clinton.
Despite announcing her support after other Democrats, Clinton's support in the gay community is strong. The largest statewide LGBT advocacy group -- Equality California - endorsed Clinton in March and the super PAC the was urging Clinton to run for much of 2013 and 2014 held a number of events at gay bars.
Potential Democratic rival, former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley sought to highlight his longstanding support for same-sex marriage in a tweet that included a video with a veiled swipe at Clinton's change of heart.
"The dignity of every person tells us that the right to marry is not a state right, it is a human right," O'Malley tweeted.

Haven't voted since I voted for Barack the first time. I have absolutely no motivation to vote now. I know I'm supposed to be terrified of Donald Trump, 'cause he will usher in slavery for black people, and all other sorts of fuckery, but somehow ... I don't think any of that is going to happen.

People always use scare tactics to get on the fence people to vote a certain way.

FOH.

All any of these candidates will do is maintain the system of white supremacy. My voting or not isn't going to change that.

Clinton is worse because she support policies that dont benefit us.

Perfect example Blacks make up about 13% of the population but about 36% of the abortions. Instead of Lynching us they are allowing us to be killed in the Womb and promoting it as a womans right to choose

Its time to wake up...

You volunteering to help support those kids??

No?? Then shut the fuck up. Or at least come with some new arguments...these are old as hell.

While it's fun I'm curious which one of our usual troll is the OP?

We should take bets. I'm going with that fag Halo.

i'm rolling with Trump man ....this shyt has got to change ....and you other mofos better wake the fuck up

Yeah man Trump is going to be fucking great!

What I look for most in a potential leader is belligerence and a fierce commitment to self aggrandizement at every turn. After that I'm mainly interested in a candidate who can take extremely complex issues and trivialize them beyond recognition. I think that's fantastic! Who wants nuanced thinking from the potential leader of the free world?! Honestly, Trump's ridiculously thin skin, preciousness and pettiness speaks to the kind of character I'd want with his finger on the big red button and in charge of our armed forces. I want a leader who puffs up and talks loudly but who fastidiously avoided serving his country when the chance presented itself. Most of all, I want a leader who engages with the world like he's on a reality show... better yet I want someone who was on a reality show leading us!

Jesus we live in a fucking dumb country :smh:

Trump spent the least amount of money and won his primary. Thats spending money efficiently. He turned a 1Million loan into a billion dollar Empire. We need people like that running the country and not politicians who are just good at getting elected and nothing else.

What has Clinton accomplished?

Who told the trump campaign about bgol? Now we have to see these idiotic republican talking points from this sister fucking genetic mutation.

Also immigration does not benefit black people.

1) Koreans come in and sell us their cheap hair products. They treat us like criminals when we go to the store and watch us like hawks.

2) Arabs and Indians set up corner stores and gas stations... They sell us junk food with no nutrition. They also treat us like crminals.

3) Mexicans compete with us for available jobs and because of the Obama executive order and Health care plan. Its cheaper for companies to hire illegals on deffered action because they dont have to pay for health care for them.
They also treat us like shit when doing business with them.

Why should we support these groups when they get here and shit on us too?

Im all for the ban on people from the middle east and building the wall.
Yes we should stay with only whites who have treated us so great for all these years.

Just curious do you vote local and state ?

Yea Trump will be great for America man! Can't fucking wait!! Dude just has it y'know? That quality of abrasiveness and dick-ishness that you want in a world leader
I want a world leader that really knows how to distill that dissatisfied feeling we all have about government and turn it into bullshit platitudes about "making America great again".
I want a leader that has exhibits such poor behavior while campaigning that I'll have to explain to my little nephews why it's not cool to be an asshole. A real "lead by example" type of dude. Can't wait man... let's make America awesome again!!

She could be sincere. She might even have a genuine change of heart, but IMO her stance, and most other "liberal" stances, are just moral compensation.

Once she's locked down the gay vote for good gay people won't get another damn thing from her. Same as she did to Black people.

Mark my words. 2017 will be a bad year for homos

This cat is DEFINITELY trolling lol

Nah bruh he's been on that simple-simon Republican shit for as long as he's been around here. There are tons of Americans that think this way.... they look at Trump and see a winner. Not everyone can spot a huckster when they see one, even one as painfully obvious as Trump.

I don't remember this guy but that's a gotdamn shame to be that dumb

And America is chock fucking full of these asses

We really might be fucked

agreed.......she is center right but saying what she has too in order to win.

once in office the real Hillary will return

After the current POTUS, it will be very hard to vote for a complete imbecile of any party.
Bernie annoyed me when he talked about free college without talking about how it would be funded. Nothing happens in an isolated vacuum. Him not bringing up how he would finance it, told me that he thinks I am an idiot.

Shit any election where a clown of such epic proportions can get to be nominee of his party should tell us something about the political situation in this country. We're definitely fucked whether he gets in or not.

Thats right im voting for Donald J. Trump this yeear and here are some of my reasons..

1) I agree that the USA should stop immigration from countries that have a problem with ISIS and other terrorists groups. Its stuipid to let these folks keep comming to the USA when the head of the FBI & CIA say they cant be vetted properly. Obama is going to look like a fool if one of them commits another terrorist act here.

2) We need a wall on the boarder with Mexico. There are too many illegal immigrants crossing the boarder and when they get here they treat black people like shit. We also have people comming in with Visas but not leavng wheen supposed to. Im sorry but a tourist visa is not a ticket to stay here forever... Also there are a lot of drugs crossing the boarder and they end up in our communities and tear down our families. Build the wall wth the quickness..

3) Im tired of the government promoting gay culture. Last year Obeezy lit up the white house with the gay pride colors after the supreme court victory... Earler this year he sent a memo telling schools how to treat transgender students??? I dont want my daughter going to the bathroom with horny boys or having a government that promote gay behavior.

4) Im tired of all the talk on gun restrictions. The 2nd ammendment give the right to bear arms and its affirmed by he 14th ammendment. There are too many crazy people out there and people need ability to defend themselves when necessary.

5) Abortion.. Democrats defend abortion but CDC stats show there are almost 1 million abortions each year. There is no outrage on tht stat but if 50 gay people die in a club they want to ban whole classes of guns.

6) Obamacare..
I went from paying $500 for health care for my family in 2012 to $850 in 2016. It didnt work like he said and needs to be redone.

I could go on but I refuse to vote for Clinton who would keep doing the ame thing.

I'm voting for Trump because everyone we cant trust DON'T want him to be President ! with one vote for Trump , I can stop Hillary,McCain, war,gun control ,support of ISIS ,etc,....

The Democrats take black people for granted...

The reality is that most Blacks are conservative.

I just hate how the Democrats dangle carrots in our face and we support them blindly as a whole.

Hillary says black lives matter in a speech. Does the Dab and tries to Nae Nae and shes got 90% of the black vote?

Come on people

With Chinese labor and steel. ....brought to you really cheap by the TPP..

China is not in the TPP. The whole point of the TPP is to block China's economic domination.

All any of these candidates will do is maintain the system of white supremacy. My voting or not isn't going to change that.

One side brought legal challenges against affirmative action AND the voting rights act, you know the act that our people fought and bled and died to get so that we actually had the right to vote that you so nonchalantly piss off.

And because of supreme court justices put in place by the Republican party, they gutted the Voting Rights act. Now in state after state, the Republican party is passing all kind of laws to make it harder for Black people to vote and to limit our voting power (not that it matter since so many "woke" people like you wont vote anyway)

And when they get in these local and state offices, they install racist police forces that harass, violate, and kill black people. These are facts.

But then again, none of that would motivate you.

1) immigrants who come from those are fleeing Isis, not supporting it. There has not been one successful Islamic terrorist attack on US soil since 2008

2) if you really want Mexicans to stop crossing the border illegally then fight to end the foreign policies that economically cripple Mexico in the first place. That way nobody will want to leave. They will also have less incentive to traffic drugs. Give visa holders a clearer path to permanent residence as well.

3) you'll be pleased to know that neither Clinton or Trump support gay marriage. Clinton's husband didn't even want openly gay soldiers to catch bullets for him. Things are about to get quite grim for the LGBT community.

4) do you really think a man fighting to restrict the 1st amendment really cares about the 2ND?

5) if a teenaged mother puts her son up for adoption instead of abortion are you willing to take him in?

6) I agree with you here. Short term medical insurance should be free, though I hardly think Trump will make this happen

1) The FBI Director and Head of the CIA both appointed by Obama said that ISIS is looking to infiltrate the Syrian refugee population and that they dont have a way of vetting them.. Given that information i cant see why he would still want to bring them to the USA.. Look at all the attacks by the radical muslims in the past week alone. They hit the airport in Turkey, killed over 215 in Iraq, bombings in Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan... This is just from the past week alone.. Why bring them here and put us at risk? I understand you want to help but help them in their land.

2) Its not just Mexicans that come in illegally.. Lately its more from Central America like Honduras and Guatemala but they cross via the Mexican boarder. Mexico is responsible because they cross through their land.. The wall wont stop all illegal boarder crossings but it will help slow it. The current wall is a joke. The fence in my backyard would do a better job.

3) Clinton supports gay marriage, putting trans gender bathrooms in schools, etc.. I dont know about you all but I dont want my daughter going to the bathroom with transgendered men and boys. Stacey Dash said it best.. Tell them to go to the bushes..

4) You're probably talking about the temporary Muslim ban but I agree with it given all the terrorism coming from Muslim countries in the recent days. Also funny how people want to restrict the 2nd amendment but wont admit we have a problem with Islamic Terrorists. Thanks to them we have to wait for hours in line, get strip searched and have your toothpaste taken before you can board a flight.

5) We have to start holding people accountable. If you have a kid you have to get on the grindstone and provide for it. You may be down now but you can make a come up. My lil sis is a perfect example. She had my nephew young and contemplated an abortion but we convinced her not to. She was living with my parents but got on the grind, got a job and just got a house for her and my nephew. If she had an abortion my nephew wouldn't be here and it would be another black male death.. Yes black lives do matter so stop aborting your children. We loose hundreds of thousands of black children each year silently to abortion but we go crazy when we loose one to the police...
