Joe Budden - Making A Murderer Pt. 1 (Drake & Meek Mill Diss)

Killed him.

But this was just the set up in hopes that he takes the bait.. But in case he doesnt he wanted to make sure he had enough material and content in the song to stand on its own..

Definitely too long for todays listening audience tho.. The days of the 6 minute diss track with mediocre beat left with the advent of social media platforms and short attention spans they promote. He could have shaved a good minute plus easy without all the redundant r&b jabs.

that's what I mean he may have actually OVER DID it.

I'm a Joe fan and this track was for US

but he better not expect no crossover love from casual fans or ESPECIALLY Drake fans.

That was some deeply layered slap boxing but that's the issue

it was slap boxing and some didn't connect.

cause a GOOD diss track?

shouldn't be like an episode of LOST.
I think he dropped this not for the fans, sales or spins but for lyricists especially J and Drake - on some "look what I can do, don't sleep on me" shit

this line right here alone tells me this ain't for pop listners: "I killogram without weighin' a thing"

I like this flip:
"When they roll up, bet dude won't wanna live his raps
He'll see the 6 upside down and wanna switch it back"

Saying this directly to J about Drake is crazy:
"Here's a reminder that we go way back
I mean um, you know for me the kid is practice, Hova
I make these words flip as if they practice yoga
Okay practice over, back to Blacklist, Hova
Nothin' personal, this Red Reddington
Shawn, I don't work for you, still I'm doin' the work for you
Payback, wire his jaw, reimbursin' you
Metal all behind his face, Sprite commercial you"

Plenty of diss songs didn't have the best of beats. Niggas just don't like Joe and I really don't fuck wit Joe either still salute him as a spitter. As far as this track, it ain't nothing classic but he went at Drake with bars tho. That's all you can ask of a Real MC. Joe spit long cause Drake cant, cornball or not Joe lyrically fit.

If Joe had actually had a beat?

and shortened this?

it would have been FIRE..uncontested first round TKO

but I can't go on woulda shoulda...

If Meek had replied sooner to Drake than...see what I mean?

This was a great lyrical assault but again

MY VIEW (no pun intended)

it went a little over the time limit and if possible TOO MANY BARS

and I'm telling you most are gonna lost

( salute a great marketing promotion by genius by the way, Drake taught 'em)

It didn't feel like piling on or beating a dude into submission it sounded like HE was emotional

you gotta be focused and go IN...

Takeover...aint no of topic sh*t

IN beat his ass heart his feelings his family feelings his girls feelings his friends his hood and

let me kick this f*ckboys on my way out.

Canibus...boom boom boom boom boom no singing no tap dancing no fancy sh*t

Ether...was basically 3 minutes of street corner "F*CK YOU, AND YOU AND YOU AND YOU"!!!!

DONE.
he went out of his way to give respect at the start- I think he sent a love tap, not a real beatdown, for some reason....
I also think he is trying to avoid the organized industry and commercial backlash he saw during the Meek fiasco

I'm saying even with the length and wack beat, Joe mashed him up lyrically. A better beat would have only made it more commercially successful. For heads who don't care about that aspect of it, this is a first round TKO... lyrically.

If you're a nigga who thinks this track was wack or just ok but you have Hit Em Up in your top 3 diss tracks of all time for the classic bars "1st off fuck your bitch and the click you claim" and shit like "the raw EMOTION and charisma" then just admit you don't care about bars and don't even debate this topic :dunno:

its just not a good diss record it too long too many verses he talking about too much shit and there were no lines that made you say ooooh

the lyrics ain't the problem with this joint. he killed it completely lyrically. but people in here fronting like the music you rap to don't matter at all as long as the lyrics are great. that's never been how its worked. not in the history of any successful rap career from any lyricist and no successful diss track.
WTF are you talking about bills. that is always how it worked

you young niggas are something else

anyone who grew up in the 80s stood on the corner listening to a wack nigga beatbox while a kid from the neighborhood ripped it lyrically

and you know what?

that was some of the dopest shit you ever heard

fucking crack baby generation has destroyed a beautiful art form

it was always the chicks who didnt listen to the lyrics but just danced to the beat

now the niggas act just like the bitches

did we listen to the same track?

nevermind...this is bgol lol

im logging off for the night

I listened again and Im convinced its an era thing.

No way Joe gets love off this cause these kids don't have an ear or mind for this. If its something they have to think about, its not good

This is a heavy song. Gonna have to like LISTEN to this.

I liked it at first this aight now Im like Yo Budden caught wreck.

Exactly, for a minute I thought I was in the Twilight Zone based off these comments. Shit was flames:yes:

no wtf are YOU talking about alex? you proved my point for me. this is a diss record. it didn't need all of that shit going on in the track and the hook either. none of that shit was necessary. when you diss someone it should be RAW.
think of your favorite diss record. i bet you that the track was fucking RAW bare essence. a rhythm and then the words carried everything else.
this song lyrically is incredible. the beat was TOO MUCH going on. im not arguing for some melodies or some 808's or NOTHING. i am saying they put TOO MUCH on it and made it too atmospheric imo. it needed to be as raw as the bars he was spitting.

its not about a best beat. what makes this beat not good for the song is there was too much going on. strip some of that extra noise let them bars buddens is saying sink in so you can't ignore it and it can't be denied. that is all im saying. that's why i said idk in the beginning.
i know he killed him lyrically the bars are on par and then when im trying to listen to this 6 minutes of HIM i hear too much of OTHER SHIT that don' t need to be there.

like if he rapped over just the drum track and the bass and no other instruments drake fans couldn't even front they'd just have to cry in the car.

Niggas crying that it's too long clearly don't know Joe's track record. But I guess the OLS series was "too long"

Smh "do you listen to music or do you just skim through it"

In the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald, "The test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function." One can not hate Joe, think his lyrical content here is ether, and be unimpressed with the production at the same time. How is that even an issue? :dunno:

peace

"I killogram without weighin' a thing"

:wepraise:

lyrically and flow wise? :itsawrap:

this needs to be remixed... if it was separated high low - this beat would be fire...

after 3 passes to catch everything this is growing on me

I think most his lyricism and the disses in this song went over most heads
I'm still finding shit
Jumpoff may have been checking for TheTerms or just on his BK influenced shit:

When it rains it pours
All that means, dog, get please get a poncho
Subs fell short like a free throw from Rondo

Dudes on here talking about the beat before the lyrics on a diss track?!?

Sad

Anyway, this diss had layers to it man. Buddens came off.

Best move for Drake is to not respond

The beat is hard as fuck but mixed wrong,Buddens lyrics are good enough for me.If only Drake and Meek would respond but I doubt they will but to be honest Meek should try his best to Ether Joe as it might save his rep a little bit but as someone said earlier Joe's just trolling these dudes for attention.

**Copied this from Complex** When Joe was signed to Def Jam in 2002, he was considered to be the next beast from the east. Then his debut album bricked and he got thrown on the shelf for about four years. It wasn't long before he started to blame label pres Jay-Z for his lack of success. Things only got worse when Jay hopped on the "Pump It Up" beat, throwing subliminal jabs, only to have Joey reclaim the beat. The beef simmered until Joey came back with his "Talk 2 'Em" track where he went at Jay-Z for still rapping at 38: "When the new generation think about Jordan/All they remember is when Iverson crossed him/Take off the blazer, loosen' up the tie/Nigga fell in love and Superman died." And then he was dropped from Def Jam.

This bullshit Joe made is in noway in the same category as Hit Em Up. Joe is just trolling trying to create a buzz to revive his career.

joe has bars but the sign of a classic dis record (to me) is when i find myself playing it back to back to back after 1st hearin it.

this was pretty cool but i have no interest in listening to it a 2nd time.

joe also seems like the type to pretend he's above getting mad over some ass but really sending shots at dude cuz he's mad over some ass...

That's what I'm getting from it because I'm still trying to figure out where drake dissed him on that song clearly getting at puff..

If Joe dissing drake because he fucked Tahira then that nigga Joe on simp def con 20 and lost already

The line where Drake said dude was calling him asking about his girl. Joey said that was about him. He said he called Drake and said he had no problems with him smashing Tahiry

Shit is horrible

Fuck, man... who mixed this shit. It sounds like a lo-fi free beat recorded on cassette. Rhymes > Music. If he'd fucked around and used a catchier beat, this shit would've pushed Drake back on his heals.

Sounds like he was going for the 40 Shebib filter effect and it failed tremendously

Could you imagine if this is Joey's "Charged Up", with his "Back 2 Back" cued up ready to drop. Nobody was really feeling Charged Up and didn't expect much from the battle after it dropped, but B2B changed everything.

Hopefully since Joey has a mixed bag with this one his B2B will set everybody straight.

As far as responses. I doubt anybody will respond right now. It's just going to be a career full of subliminals from everybody.

Man that was hard to listen too. It's better that have two or three well placed kill shots than a long drawn out encyclopedia of so-so disses.

Thing is, regardless of how hard or how much it may suck, nobody outside of new York gives two shits about Joe Budden. And realistically, starting fake beef with popular rappers is the only way this dude keeps himself with a semi buzz. I wouldn't even bother with a response because, for what lol

Ok so way do an entire 6 min track of he had no probs with it? I don't get it
