TNT analyst Charles Barkley does not think LeBron James is one of the top five NBA players of all time, he said on Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons.

Barkley has expressed that stance before, andrecently ranked Michael Jordan, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan as his top seven NBA greats.

Barkley said his group of players he considers top-five greats will never change, leaving no room for James to crack the list.

“I’m not going to just move him past Tim Duncan and Kobe. They didn’t just die,” Barkley said. “But I will say this about LeBron James: I’ve never seen a man coming out of high school who has handled the success, been a great player, never got in a stitch of trouble. It’s probably been the greatest career ever.”

James has won the NBA MVP award four times, tied with Chamberlain and just behind Jordan (5), Russell (5) and Abdul-Jabbar (6). He just won his third NBA Championship, which ranks far behind Russell’s NBA-leading 11 titles with the Boston Celtics.

Peace,

I won't go that far. I've got MJ, Bill Russell, Wilt, Kareem and Magic above Lebron, but Charles just sounds bitter at this point.

Oh. Ok. I can see if you go that route. I was thinking as like a starting five by position. You've got 3 centers in there so gonna make difficult for non-center to crack it.

Peace

Yeah. But I wouldn't be mad if someone put Lebron in his top ten. He's an all time great. Charles sounds upset about that fact.

:smh:

It's hard to take someone seriously if they have Lebron out of their top 5 at this point.
The illest part of it all is when Simmons said if you compare ANY players first 13 seasons against Brons then Bron wins and it aint even close. Barkley said, with a straight face "Well it dont really count because he had a four year head start. He didnt go to college". Simmons was like "yea he came straight out of high school"... You could tell he purposely let Barkley off the hook by not following up and explaining to Chuck just how fucking big a imbecile he looked by saying that ass backwards dumb shit.

who would u put him pass right now seriously...?

thats really tuff...if he`s in the top 5 ...that shit will be interchangeable like a mugg for almost everybody.....lol

top 4 is easy...but 5 not so much...thats where it gets debatable ...:rolleyes2:

lol...yep...he had to learn& develop on the fly...

can u imagine how much more dominant he would have been if he could have developed his skills with even 2 yrs of college..

shit would have been crazy...

nothing wrong with that......if his top five doesn't change and they were all pioneers then Lebron won't get there..

damn y'all cry over everything.

Dude for real. Clown talking about top 5, shit, LeBron was top 5 before this last chip

over who ?

Michael Jordan, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain

Yep. You can't penalize Lebron for that shit. The times were different and maybe there were a few others players who could have legitimately straight from high school and made an immediate contribution but very few who could have likely matched what Lebron did just because of his size alone. I remember seeing him on the court in his first NBA game like "oh, that's a grown ass man right there". He wasn't an oversized high school kid that needed to hit the weight room or something. He was a big.
