You can't trust Carcetti man. BUT she did what she had to do to save her family.
When he left to get rikon i knew he wasn't going to get him and he wasn't going to go back and regroup.
She is more realistic than Jon and understands the succession game better, she did spend time in King's Landing.
There is no way Ramsey would let Rickon escape alive and keep claim to Winterfell.

I kept saying this dude bout to get everybody killed but this motherfucker right here can fight. The direction enhances it so much too because they kept it at a slightly below angle which serves to look like you're actually on the field with him.
another great part about the directing was that usually if its a battle they zoom you in way close all the way close all you see is the main guy and who he's fighting
or they get the crane and show the whole thing like omg look how epic!
they did a great job of the low angle and zoomed out far enough to where it looks like you're on the battlefield too. that's the view of jon we would have. we'd be the guys/gals like "ive seen it with my own eyes i was 10 feet away from him"

Rickon was expendable though. I think GRRM more or less admitted he didn't have a real plan for Rickon after book Four. He was going to let the characters age a bit off screen and then bring them all back in as adults and more capable of dealing with shit, but the 5 year gap (in the story) between book 3 and 4 never materialized. He did go out like a lil Beyatch tho.
The way things are going now it's clear that the DIREwolves have no special significance to the story (on the show at least).

I said after he didn't save him, he didn't go back and regroup and get ready to attack keeping in mind what his sister said. He got shot with the arrow pick him up and ride back and then use that as motivation to go to war and do it right. That's all.

But I completely disagree that Ramsey would let him regroup. I believe the episode made it a point to show a quiver of arrows hitting Rickon's corpse moments after he was killed, right where Jon was.
Jon was a second away from being hit up so he charged forward which ended up being the right move given the scenario.
His continual charge was still part of the plan. Davos waiting forever to join the party, was part of the plan. Jon knew what was coming. They were encircled and couldn't do anything about it.
