History channel shows Hannibal as a Black man. Whites go crazy cry revisionism.

Man I went to a majority white school and they taught us this

Thought it was well known

Imma say nah.. i myself just found out something like 3 or 4 years ago.. i stumbled up on it by accident. . But just glad i did!!!

he is from modern day tunisia

he would have looked like the blacks in tunisia look like today

black

all them light skin folks in northern africa are just

mutts mixed with roman/greeks, the Original inhabitants

were "black"...

cacs want a history sooooo bad, they do NOT want to admit their history starts when black folks cleaned them up and civilized them...

they want it to be the other way soo badly...

he probably looked like a Lebanese man

I've heard that argument, problem is he likely didn't look like a modern(today) Lebanese man
you both mean Libyan not Lebanese and this is what Libyans looked like at that time

Naw, there was mixing up there dating back to Neanderthals and people migrating back into Africa. That's why there are black Africans and 'mutts' in the region that all can claim being there during RECORDED history. It's easy to cross that sea, walk along it, and fuck with the people in West Asia and Europe.

What I don't get is why cacs or black folks get all bent out of shape about that region when it's obvious mixing has been going on for 10s of thousands of years.

No. You've simply been misinformed.

Ordinarily I wouldn't bother to comment on this sort of misinformation but I have had two real loves: math and roman history.

The Carthaginians are Phoenician who settled the Mediterranean coast of North Africa. They simply were NOT what we would call black african. They aren't even African. Hannibal is from one of the royal families. We know exactly what Phoenicians of that time looked like. Like modern Lebanese.

This is sort of sad.

Unfortunately this is the sort of nonsense promoted by uncritical "documentaries" like Hidden Colors that are not actual scholarly studies but rather attempts at self esteem boosting. There is not attempt to be critical and any information that remotely adds to the real reason for the project(self esteem) is included as "fact". This is simply not the way real scholarship works. Facts are facts. Sadly this sort of misinformation has been promulgated so frequently and uncritical in afrocentric circles that it is becoming impossible to refute it. (I know it's true! I saw it in a documentary on great black leaders!").

Even more sadly is we have our own history and don't need to pretend to have one that isn't true! In a way it is actually playing into the hands of the white racist when you say you don't have enough of your own history and have to pretend to be Egyptians or Carthaginians.

Why is it I never see post here about the REAL black empires? Cities like Timbuktu. The Mali empire. Koumbi Saleh. Gao and Songhay. The Kaabu Empire.

And that's just West Africa (where most of us are actually descended from)

So no. Hannibal wasn't "one of us". If you want to feel pride in great Black African generals then study: Sudiata Keita, Alfa Molo Balde, or Tirmakhan Traore.

But this pretending that various non-black peoples were "us" is just poor scholarship. Even worse there because are ACTUAL black heroes to admire.

I know most of you will deny everything I wrote because your previous sources have told you otherwise. But those sources are merely self esteem boosting projects. Don't embrace a false history - we have a real one.

It didn't take me long to realize two important facts:

1. - that everything in history books weren't facts

2. - White people don't want to give black people credit for anything good

They called us Savages, but they bathed at such an irregular occurrence but it was far more often that they did not bathe

you are wrong - I suggest you double check your sources... Lebanese is the wrong nationality

I already posted what LIBYANS of the time looked - Hannibals family was not royalty but aristocracy - his father was general Hamilcar Barca and the family was from Cyrene, Libya

his family was from Libya

in red Carthage at her peak
300

This map is wildly inaccurate. It was so bad I had to find its source.

It is from a fantasy game site called AltHistory wiki LOL

This particular map imagines this fantasy :

In this TL, the pirate group "Sons of Mars" attack a different city. At this city, the Sons of Mars are annihilated, resulting in no Punic Wars and two Mediterranean superpowers.

http://althistory.wikia.com/wiki/No_Punic_Wars

Dude this was a FANTASY. Sorry the settlers from Phoenicia didn't not bother to penetrate into Africa.

No. I'm quite correct. Phoenicia would be where modern Lebanon is today - north of Israel. And certainly NOT the home of black Africans....

Hannibal was NOT a Libya he was a Carthaginian - meaning the descendants of the Phoenician traders who settled north african coast. They are NOT african people. Unfortunately you have been misled by charlatans who have co-opted history in an attempt to use it to boost self esteem.

But please continue in your beliefs if they make your self esteem go up!

I speak only to the few actually interested in history and its accuracy. To those I recommend seeking credible sources and studying actual history from an accredited university. For those who gain information from things like Hidden Colors I suggest you have been getting your information from the equivalent of Trump U...

:giggle:
for purposes of this thread you are wrong - we aren't arguing about Phoenicians- we are arguing the lineage of Hannibal -
His family was not connected to royalty nor really of the ruling class - but they were wealthy with some power and they were from Libya.

so far you have been wildly inaccurate about that
