Christian McCaffrey just completed one of the greatest seasons in college football history, but he’s still got a chip on his shoulder.

That's because the Stanford running back — and early Heisman contender — says he’s tired of being labeled as "tough" while having his athleticism overlooked because he's white.

"When you read about white athletes these days and white skill possession receivers specifically, one word you'll always find is tough," McCaffrey told Sports Illustrated in a recent interview.

McCaffrey set the NCAA’s all-purpose yardage record last year, putting up 3,864 yards across the board. The record was previously held by a gentleman named Barry Sanders.

Despite his on-field accomplishments, McCaffrey feels his athletic ability doesn't get the respect it deserves.

"You'll rarely see explosive, athletic, stuff like that," he said. "...You get a little bit upset: 'I ran the same 40 as this guy, and you're calling him. ...' People do the eye test and underestimate me, so I do play with a chip on my shoulder."
 
And McCaff is going to get picked up by Denver at the least. He just wants that paper. Denver wanted to sign his brother as an UDFA this off season. He'll get on a team.
 
Was just listening to his show on XM coming home. I didnt have a issue with what he said. You gotta throw the cacs a bone here and there... A reverse amulet if you will. He also put the blame at the feet of white media. He would have brought it all the way home had he finished it by tying in how black QBs have long suffered the true injustice of racial bias as it pertains to traditional coverage and evaluation of skill position players... But i guess that was asking a bit too much.
 
Watch SAS misdirect and place the blame at the feet of black players instead of with white coaches and recruiters and media. They'll find a way.

I agree. I swear it's like we've heard so much coonery from Stephen A that whenever he actually talks it automatically goes into the coon bucket. This time though he has a point. If the media needs to be called out then they should be called out regardless of whether it's by a white or black player. The media is the one that needs to get checked not the players in most cases.
 
Just watched the clip. That's a small part of the interview. I saw it when it was actually on this morning. He followed that stuff up by telling dude "welcome to our world"

That niggaz across all sports and in life had been saying the same shit. "If i was this color" shit would be different for me

Not us. I mean him... as a talking head with a large cac listener base. He has to do that for the appearance of balance in their eyes. So when he roasts them he can point to this instance as proof of his fairness. ... We dont have to do shit for the devils.

Let's just be real, white running backs suck. White wideouts suck unless you are crafty. This is a fact of life. The black man is the superior athlete. The numbers prove it. SAS just said what everyone else was thinking.
 
Dude doesn't get the respect he deserves, period! The same can be said for most black QB's and MLB's so what are they really saying that hasn't been said? Who was the last star RB that was white? I'll wait!

The title is a flat out lie, first of all. And yes he did go overboard with praising the kid's skills.

But he kept it pretty legit in the sense that he framed his comments from the kid's perspective.

If you just take some quotes out without watch the 1:57 video, it does look like SAS is on some shit. After watching the video, nothing to see here.
