Have any celebrity deaths effected you?

Princess Di fucked with my head really bad, for some reason. Maybe it's because I was so young. Who knows?

Prince was the only one. Never gave a shit about the others. But Prince was my 1st favorite artist, purple is my favorite color to this day because of Prince. I didn't cry, but I felt something when I heard.:smh:

2Pac would my only choice as far as in my lifetime.
I stress about Malcom X and MLK before my time however

Shit, a lot of celeb deaths have affected me. These people are people too. Trouble T Roy passed in my hometown. Was a kid reading about it, like naw.:smh: Messed with Heavy D and them heavy. That shit hurt. These were the good guys. Someone so full of life, doing entertainment, gone so young.:smh:

MJ and Prince for me. Those two definitely ruined my day. As if losing a part of the soundtrack of my youth. You start looking at life and your mortality differently when your favorites start dying off.

Yeah this for me too..

But when 2pac got killed my daughter who was living with her mother knocked on my door all teary talking about can i borrow all your 2pac music <sniff> <sniff>

Tupac - thought that dude would never die, i was in my teens just came back from playing in a football game up north and heard that he died on the radio

Prince - kinda surprised that the shit hit me harder yesterday than any other celebrity dying...I usually don't feel anything, but he was one of my all time favourite artists although I only really fucked with the music that he made when I was a kid ..and only really check for the material he made from the late 70's to the mid 90's.

Heavy D (Just a good guy)
Sean P - Underated LEGEND
Phife- Piece of my teen years died
MJ- He was suppose to live forever in my eyes
Mandela - So much strength, mom dukes took me to Yankee stadium to see him when he was released. I did not know how Deep it was to see him and a STADIUM FULL of Black folks shouting Man-Dela

I'm saddened by the fact that they're gone but it doesn't affect me personally. I grew up on their music, so I have of them everything I've always had of them - their art. But with anything it depends on the moment. I have cried at movies. When I saw the movie stop loss I cried, even though that was a pretty terrible movie I knew some people who died after they were stopped lost from the military and forced to go back to war

No not at all. I feel the shock of a sudden celebrity death, but not knowing these people personally, there's never a loss.

They haven't affected me. It's life. We all die. Most celebs have a decent life or are at least afforded one. I don't have any emotional connection to them outside of their art, but it is never that deep for me. They are people too. Family and friends affect me. Celebs... Not so much.

Strangely ... Mr Rogers' of "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" and the Captain of "Captain Kangaroo" died almost a year apart their deaths made me really sad.

Now that i think about it, the suicide of Don Cornelius' from "Soul Train," did too. I guess those guys embodied my happy childhood and their deaths underscored the inevitable.

Probably not many of you here know of these guys.
I knew them each on a personal level, so it wasn't a shock that I was effected.....
