Cliffnotes:

Tiki threw Strahan and Tom Coughlin under the bus publicly while he was with the Giants. He also questioned Eli Manning as a leader. He retired in 2006. Giants go on and win Super Bowl 42 the next season, ending the Pats perfect season.

He then gets a major TV deal with NBC and is all over that network, morning shows, etc. His road to glory in TV had been paved for him. After 3 years, he wasn't doing much at NBC and his stock fell drastically.

His wife was 8-month pregnants with twins in 2010 when he filed for divorce from her, having met some 23-year old intern and deciding to start a new life with her. As you could imagine, the masses were not pleased. Meanwhile NBC did not renew his contract. He went from media darling just three years earlier to pariah #1, 2, 3.....

And the Giants and Strahan won another SB in 2011.

In effect, the post-NFL success Strahan has enjoyed was SUPPOSED to be Tiki's life. But his mouth and his dick completely fucked that up and now, while Strahan, who had his own messy divorce that he had to break off HUGE cheese for, is America's day talk darling, a Hall of Famer and making $10-$15 million/year plus dude has bitches throwing pussy at him all day (including his former on air cohost), Tiki is left with memories of what could have been/was supposed to be.

Oh yeah, his twin is a Super Bowl champion (Tampa Bay Super Bowl 37) so buddy can't even have that bragging right. Dude fucked himself royally and most feel little pity for him.
When he interviewed Eli at the Superbowl that shit had to have burned his soul. When Eli told him "we had the right guys playing" I know he wanted to die right then.

Will network executives ever get a job transition executed correctly and drama-free?

This is as bad as the two times NBC whiffed transitioning new talent at the Tonight Show, first replacing iconic Johnny Carson with Jay Leno then some 20 years later replace Leno with Conan O'Brian. ABC did in fact handle the situation completely wrong and what's worse is they left Michael Strahan totally exposed to the fall out in the process.

On a professional level, Kelly has legitimate concerns for how the show has been treated by ABC. What was suppose to be a scheduled vacation now seems to be an impromptu boycott of sorts that could be used to damage her soon to be former co-host. And Kelly has some leverage here. Live! dominates its slot in daytime programming and while Strahan can be credited with doing his share of making the show a big success in his tenure there, Kelly has been with the show for a significant time including hosting it solo for almost two years so a case can be made that Kelly Ripa is for all intents and purposes the driving force of a very popular and long running program.

That means that her wounded and shocked response plus the extended absence makes Michael the bad guy. Something that could damage his image going into GMA full time. And while that won't kill his career or do lasting damage to Good Morning America it could affect the ratings bump his presence is supposed to bring to the show in the fall. Expect to see Michael in damage control mode when Kelly gets back and publicly apologizing to her.

On a personal level, Kelly has a right to be hurt because she invested wholeheartedly in bringing Michael into the show. Quite frankly from my observation the chemistry between them was so good and easy and intimate that I started to suspect there was something more early on when he started. They seemed to be too into each other:

daddy's home....seriously?

It's been reported that Kelly was "livid" about the news and how it was delivered. Considering how well they worked together it's understandable why she went ballistic. Even though they're all on the same network team, at this point its safe to assume that Kelly has no problem sending Michael over to GMA as damaged goods even if the dirtying effect is temporary.

Mike's new job starts in the fall but the next four months are going to very interesting viewing watching how this transition plays out.

its bigger than the bad news... if GMA goes an extra hour - LIVE is dead... cause all the major markets are going push live to a bullshit time like 1p or 2p...

IMO ABC should have moved LIVE to 4p with Mike still there and extend GMA

he beat the brakes off that pussy.

why else would she be acting like this?

I think LIVE will just go to the next hour which on the east coast is 10am and raychel raye which is behind them gets pushed to 11am the View is typically at 11 am now which means its goes to what 1pm?? cuz local news is usually at noon.

Live is too much of a rating dominator at 9am to completely throw it off its time by moving to after noon. IF theres a schedule change I think Live will get bumped to the next hour which means raychel and the view will get bumped too..

most viewers are creatures of habit and thats a LOT of shifting just to support GMA...for all the upheaval they created and are creating ABC better get this one right:smh::smh::smh::smh:

disney is chasing and tryng to copy how NBC did the today show BUT the difference is they could add 3rd hour to their broadcast because NBC never had any strong or reliable shows at 10 and 11am.. Live! and raychel ray are VERY solid shows with reliable loyal viewers. NBC's model won't work the same for them.

wonder why dont they just get rid of LIVE altogether and let Kelly be Mike's co-host on GMA..? just like Hoda and Kathie Lee on Today

its syndicated - its like Oprah, ABC doesn't fully own the show... and they would have to over pay Gelman to get it now

They have talking about it for 2 or 3 years now.... Production costs per ep are too high vs ad dollars in markets smaller than the big markets...

The big push on daytime network tv is cheap infotainment

Kelly Ripa Could Lose Her 'Live' Timeslot In Addition to Her Co-Host

Such a move would bounce Live, which ABC renewed earlier this year through the 2019-20 season and remains a bright spot in the syndication business, to either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. on ABC-owned stations and in much of the country. (The show airs in some afternoon slots already. But some station groups have holes to fill in the afternoon this fall care of the impending end of The Fab Life.) How that would play with host Ripa, who is currently sitting out the show because she is upset over how the Strahan shift went down, is far from clear.

Executives at ABC News have long strategized how to expand GMA and have been envious of NBC’s four hours a day of the Today show. It was a priority for Disney-ABC Television Group president Ben Sherwood when he ran ABC News, but syndication contracts made it difficult to pull off. The closest the division got was an experimental afternoon iteration called Good Afternoon America. But the short-lived show, which was co-hosted by Lara Spencer and Josh Elliott, did not confer the critical seamless brand extension a third hour at 9 a.m.would.

Last year, GMA raked in $362 million in ad revenue, according to KantarMedia. It’s why ABC News executives have been so concerned about the show’s softening ratings. So far this season, GMA is down 18 percent among viewers 25-54 and 14 percent among women 25-54, morning TV’s core audience. Publicly, ABC News executives point to the show’s lead over Today among total viewers, but privately they admit they need to rebuild the program since the breakup of the core anchor team that snapped Today’s 16-year morning news winning streak back in 2012.

Strahan, 44, is seen as filling the void left by Josh Elliott, who exited for NBC under a cloud in 2014, a few months after weather anchor Sam Champion departed for the Weather Channel. There is speculation that Strahan and Spencer could form the core anchor team in a third hour, though sources close to Strahan stress that no such discussions have taken place. ABC News sources also note the show could rotate anchors in and out of the third hour, much the way Today does.

Ripa’s resentment has been simmering since ABC News executives poached Strahan for a part-time GMA gig in 2014. His tenure on Live has improved that show’s ratings. And he has the ability to engage in the kind of easy banter that made the anchor team of George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, Spencer, Elliott and Champion so winning. Ripa, who was told by Strahan of his exit only minutes before news broke publicly Tuesday, did not show up for work the next day and will be off Live until at least Tuesday, ABC announced yesterday.

Media observers note how Ripa handles the Strahan move publicly could determine whether ABC will suffer fallout from a dreaded "botched transition." Today took years to recover from Ann Curry's awkward ouster from the anchor chair. But few expect Ripa to shed any tears during Live. “This is a woman who has been through a lot with that show and she has never shown it on the air,” says one daytime veteran. Indeed, Ripa learned of Regis Philbin’s plans to retire 20 minutes before the former co-hosts went on the air. "She’s upset that they’re making GMA more important [and] just using her show as a training ground," says the daytime veteran. "It’s like, this was the plan all along, that it just was a revolving door."

I say this...Kelly only has a limited time to play victim with this..I think she has about a week from the time she gets back to gut punch ABC execs and Mike for doing what they did and still get sympathy from the public at large...after that if she's still angry and pouty there WILL be a backlash. They still have 4 months to deal with being together. She can't be all hurtful heather by the time July rolls around.

oh werd???

any good stories?

Just what I've read. Kelly feels that she's responsible for his successful transition into daytime telly, and she feels that he talks to her like shit sometimes. Others have said that he talks to her like he's still in a locker room. They don't talk to each other off camera. They contact each other through reps.

Kelly Ripa may be done with Michael Strahan

A source says Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan may never co-host Live! again after she was "blindsided" by the announcement Tuesday that he would be leaving to co-host Good Morning America.

"I don't believe that co-hosting together is a viable option anymore," a source tells PEOPLE. "Anything is possible, but that doesn't seem like a viable option. Practically, it's a different dynamic now."

"Michael has called her and reached out to her and texted her, and she is not acknowledging him," a second source told PEOPLE, adding that Ripa had gone"radio silent" when it came to dealing with management – or letting them know if she planned to return to work on Tuesday – and that staffers were becoming nervous.

"Nobody knows if she will return to work Tuesday or not, and the people are very nervous. They're flying blind," says the second source. "The longer she stays silent the more concerned they get."

But the first source says Ripa's choice to remain silent has been entirely deliberate.

"She wanted to take a step back right now," says the source. "She's not saying anything because she wants to take the time to think about it. There's stuff the network has to demonstrate to her as well insofar as their commitment to the show. She and Michael always had a decent relationship. Her issue here is with the management's actions."

Now, says the source, she has to consider what her next move will be.

"She has to decide whether she can sit there with Michael again. It doesn't seem like that's going to be something possible. But she's trying to make a smart decision not a rash decision."

And according to the Strahan source: "Nothing is changing until everyone finds out for some reason that Kelly is not coming Tuesday. Then that's a whole other conversation. It's business as usual for Michael. He's not getting in the way of her coming back. ... He wants her to come back."

tuesday is going to be all :popcorn::popcorn:

:lol::lol:

here's what to look for from the outset...if they walk on the set with fingers interlocked or not

tumblr_mcfi34lSPw1qk7kzzo1_500.jpg

if they walk out like this then they either worked out some shit or theyre putting on a REALLY good front.

if they walk on just holding hands but without fingers interlocked then shit just got real. :giggle::giggle:
