DISCUSSION THREAD: Star Wars Rebels UPDATE: new BAD BATCH series season 2 2022 (Disney+) FINAL SEASON!

Season 2 was good.

I read season 3 might be the last one,but they will start another Star Wars series. That will take place between Jedi a nd the Force Awakens

I don't understand, why they always get rid of the current series, whenever it starts to get dark.....

Edit:

Cinelinx is reporting a significant rumor that says that the show’s upcoming third season will in fact be its last.

Expounding on rumors reported on Slashfilm (by current io9 reporter Germain Lussier) in 2014, the site claims that Rebels will end after its third season, replaced by a new animated series that could be potentially set in the “sequel era” between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The third season would focus on linking the series closer and closer to the events of the films—specifically Rogue One—while wrapping up the character arcs of many of the characters on the show. Although the series would come to an end, the site claims, it would live on with direct-to-DVD releases to explore the characters' futures.

As ever with rumors like this, it’s best to take it with a pinch of salt—but considering that executive producer Dave Filoni recently told us that he’s already planned how the series ends, perhaps it’s not too unlikely?

Hope this ain't true.

They are trying to keep with continuity with the movies. So, this is supposed to lead into Rogue One.

I'm not happy but marvel disney hast disappointed me YET.

Damn if DC let's marvel take the animation crown? Something they had on complete lock? They might not recover.

Cause the killing joke won't be enough if one day soon they merge marvel with star wars.

id be fine with a new series after Rebels, hopefully the animation looks more along the lines of what was seen in the trailers for The Old Republic

This.
The animation and cinematography in the trailers almost makes you want to play the games for the backstory.
Rebels is close, clone wars was closer but only when Sidious/Palpatine confronted Darth Maul II and Savage Oppress.

Yeah IMO continuity really messes up rebels. Its set before the events of a new hope. We know that ben and yoda were the last of the jedi (and this season has proven that to be true by having yoda long distance training ezra.) I stand by what I said last year the only way for this to end is for them to unite with the established rebellion against the empire ...on alderan...right before the death star shows up...fade to black.

Another option is that either Ezra or Kanan goes dark and fades away to show up at another time. I concur with you that they have to either be killed on Alderan or killed before or during Rogue One.
I think one thing they should do is other timelines.

Ashoka is still alive but isn't Jedi
Maul is no longer Sith
IMO Kanaan can't survive until a New Hope
Ezra isn't going to remain a Jedi and might stay alive

We don't know if Ahsoka is alive or a ghost, but I am going to assume she is alive.
I don't think Kanaan will survive, and Ezra will turn or leave what is left of the order. We will see how it plays out.

Too bad it is on Disney because we get too many filler kid shows.

To be on the real... I'm still pissed that Starkiller is no longer Cannon. Now it looks like they are going the Raham Kota route with Kanan. Man the story in the force unleashed was amazing... I'm shocked that with today's technology why this game hasn't been remade.

I'm a little disappointed that they left Ahsoka's ending unresolved. She should be dead, no way Vader would leave her alive. Unless she escaped... but she would have to stay out of action for the entire trilogy.

Ashoka is still alive she is still in the temple going deeper into it- that was the white glimmer of light in the archway

Where our heroes and villains go from here is anyone’s guess. Filoni and his crew provide us with a lovely closing montage, where we see Ahsoka venturing deeper into the temple and a weakened Vader coming out. The crew of the Ghost is reunited, but new battle scars are easily apparent, especially with Kanan. As Ezra sits alone in his cabin with the Sith Holocron, his eyes glow red and the device opens. Is this a sign of Ezra going dark, or is he merely in limbo? Maul too will be another wild card next season. The sinister looking Dathomirian Zabrak is loyal to no one other than himself.

I don't think Vader was committed to killing her yet... he is still relatively new - he isn't the Vader we meet in Ep4 - which is still many years away... 3x he showed her mercy:
at the beginning of their fight he offered her a pass and extinguished his saber,
the push off the temple,
and after she caught him from behind...

Also on this series they have shown Vader is strategic and in his intro he used a stalking horse devastatingly well - so I could also see him letting her escape for the same reasons

They left Ashoka's fate it ambiguous. I am assuming that she is alive becausd I saw her walking into the temple, but the creators left it that way so you can either feel she is alive or a force ghost. I am saying she is alive because she doesn't have the training and it was clear to me. I go with the simple answer.

Vader should have about 15 years in. He isn't new, but also he hasn't been fighting too many force users too. I am not sure if he didn't want to kill her. She reminds him of his past and his betrayal. He was to erase all memory of that. You have to remember he is trapped character

im betting it will probably end with a shot of Leia, the droids and one of the (surviving) cast boarding the Tantive IV..that cast member is on the bridge saying"Looks like we've got company.." then the last shot is a recreation of the opening scene from A New Hope

I hope Anakin didn't pussy out again and leave Asoka alive. Also Kanan couldn't beat a inquisitor with his eyes open but he can beat Maul blinded? Overall it was a good finale but the one thing I hated was how they always ancient civilizations have all these more powerful weapons that modern society doesn't have.

So NOW they deciding to dip into the "Legends(formerly EU)" era after they said they werent

Also the dude in rogue one with the white Grand Admiral looking uniform. With them dropping him in rebel's who's to say they dont use that as an introduction, so that Rogue one can hit the ground running.

that was always the plan for Rebels to roll into Rogue One...
