BGOL review .. BATMAN V SUPERMAN... (thoughts, summary, spoilers)

The one thing I probably didn't catch. Explain

She was in this movie and the last one. How would anyone know this? :dunno: Did they even say her name in either movie? She was purely a casting stunt.... To say. Oh yeah ... green lantern is coming.. When, How, who knows... fuck you pay me money.

He's a hack ...samurai serve a shogun (idiot) Ronin maybe?

He's the Tyler Perry of action films. 300 and Watchmen are phenomenal stories, but he couldn't take the 3 most beloved/recognizable comic characters and make a memorable film.

there is no sandbox for this universe, these greedy assholes are building sandcastles below the tide line
When Flash came to Bruce and said Lois is the key it's looks like they're going with the Injustice story but it's being rushed. Superman hasn't been a hero long enough and they're already killed him (now there's nothing at stake because we know they won't kill him again) and now they wan't to make him into a villain.

Watched it last night. Went in with low expectations and actually enjoyed it for what it was. I didn't care too much for MOS and found BvS a much better film. It was a great Batman movie, meh Superman film though. Hated Alexander Luthor, liked the ten minutes we got of Wonder Woman, but thought the cameos of Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash were corny. Felt like there were too many visions and dreams sequences (like Flash's time jump/cameo to Bruce, Flashpoint Paradox anyone) but parts felt rushed.

Not going to lie, I actually liked it better than Age of Ultron.

I feel there is a really good version of this film still to be released. The film felt unevenly paced, and once that directors cut drops, I think it will come off as much better.

Solid 7/10 from me. Not great, but good enough.

So I have a question.

Growing up in Smallville Clark didn't wear any glasses. He didn't have a disguise back then. He fought as superman in Smallville and that guy in the diner recognized him immediately as Clark. So wouldn't everyone in Smallville know Clark Kent is superman? How could they not know since he grew up there? Did they all know at the funeral? Since I don't think I saw any glasses on him in the coffin.

These are just nit picky questions but still.... I guess they did the same thing in the 1979 version of superman but he looked like a completely different guy growing up. I could suspend disbelief on that. Clark looked exactly the same here.

Oh ok, yeah, now I remember her from the last movie

Isn't that kind of sad? She is just there. I think everyone knows that they aren't going the Star Sapphire route with her. Chick will be 50 by the time a green lantern movie comes out.

You just have to except that as it is. That's an age old question with no believable explanation. People see what they wan't to see.

They should of kept Doomsday out of the movie. He served no purpose at all

Who else was going to kill Superman?
Superman essentially known to the world for 18 months and he already dead
Man, that's that bullshit right there! Yes, Superman was public knowledge for 18 months and now is deader than fried chicken!:smh:

DC/WB blew their load way too early even touching Doomsday and "Death of Superman" storyline this early. Doomsday should have happened after the Justice League movie (preferably after Justice League Part 2). Even though I hate Doomsday, he could have been saved for a film where he mops up the whole Justice League (like he did in the comics) and THEN Superman dies. Superman is dead after one solo film.:smh:

Plus in "Funeral for a Friend" all of the DC universe, allies and enemies were there for his funeral

Seems like you would want to portray that once the world is more established. Instead Superman had only 2 future Justice League members at his funeral: Bruce and Diana.

Why not reanimate Zod into Bizarro? That would have been better.
Yes! If this was a true Superman sequel that would have been a great way of doing Bizarro.

I said earlier this morning that Wallace could have been made to be Metallo. He resented Superman for the loss of his legs and plus he and Luthor we're working together as Supes went to answer for the deaths in Africa. Doomsday could have been saved for a solo Superman film.
I was thinking the same thing! Wallace would have made a very good Metallo!

By going either the Bizarro or Metallo route would have let you still have Luthor as the brains/manipulator/schemer and Metallo/Bizarro as the muscle that could go toe to toe with Superman.

This was posted earlier, but Double Toasted made a point

If Luthor was portrayed as the ruthless businessman like how Jesse Eisenberg did Mark Zuckerburg in the "Social Network" film but 100x more ruthless it could have worked.

I always thought that movie Luthor should be like the one in "Lex Luthor: Man of Steel"

Damn i just read that to break even this movie has to make 800 million due to marketing and production costs. Sweet Jesus..... Why???

That moment of Super heroes carrying Superman's coffin on the big screen could have been a huge sympathetic moment. Makes you wonder if the person who wrote the film has any knowledge of the DC universe. Even if you've only watch the animated series and DC animated films you should have a better understanding on how the characters should be portrayed and how the cinematic universe should move forward.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

2 of the most iconic DC comics characters finally meet up on the big screen in
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to duke it out.....but is it any good? Yes and
no
Director Zack Snyder gets some things right linking his Man of Steel film to
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in a terrific opening sequence showing Bruce Wayne's/Batman's point of view of when Superman
battled Zod over Metropolis ,which along with a Kryptonian terraformer caused massive death and destruction
Also there is a great summary of what drives Batman

Ben Affleck is as great as i thought he would be as Batman, hitting all the right notes, along with his great chemistry with
Jeremy Irons as Alfred also quite good in his portrayal of the loyal father like figure in Wayne's life
Henry Cavill is still serviceable as Superman but i wanted to see more range from him.I truly hope i see more of it
in the DC films to come and a further exploration of the Batman and Superman relationship.
Gal Gadot is fine as Wonder Woman and i admit right here i went into super geek mode when she does a a
certain thing during an action sequence
Amy Adams does well as Lois Lane ,the investigative reporter taking risks worldwide, and also the loving girlfriend of the man
of steel.
There are some really glorious and exciting moments in the film even if you're the slightest Comic Book fan
I had no worries about the action sequences because Snyder can direct the hell out of an action sequence
The fight between the two titans has some great moments

The bad stuff:What's odd i was kind of digging Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor when he first appears he's calculating
and you know he's up to no good. Then he starts doing this odd sniveling thing with a slight moan ,that soon goes to manic.
I did like the beyond sinister things he did that kind of shocked me,but his portrayal would have worked as a different DC villain
but as Luthor......NO !!

There are plot holes and a couple of things are left unexplained

The flow of the movie is definitely off at times.I can best describe it like this you're at an amusement park and you know what rides you want to
get on but you keep getting distracted by other little amusements in the park, and you only get to a few rides that you wanted to get on

The final battle which was partially ruined by a trailer months ago has it's moments but of course would have worked better
if i didnt know it was coming

So is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice worth seeing in the theatre:YES
Do i think it's a good gateway to the upcoming films:YES

Not a perfect film, and it's the first in awhile that i have had to struggle with grading in awhile

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

I was watching the video game reviewer Angry Joe do his spoiler review f BVS. He had an interesting take on Batman. Robins death is what pushed Batman over the edge on his no kill rule. Bruce saying that he failed Superman at the end will be Batmans turning point on being the Batman that we know with his no killing morales.

So they just had a empty casket in Metropolis and had Superman's real body in Smallville? Man the more I think about this movie the more they fucked it up

killing him in this movie was a terrible idea in the first place....the totally ruined superman's story....no way in the hell should we be talking about death of superman right now

Man who you tellin. Then just because they mom have the same last name Batman gon be cool with Superman in a matter of minutes? Fuck outta here they rushing to catch up with Marvel but it's too late.

You know what... That is actually a really good point. Without a body... How would anyone know that he died? It wasn't like they had cameras to show what doomsday did to him. Would the government be like.. Oh here is Doomsday. Where is Superman? Do they just take Lois's word for it? You know Batman isn't talking and Wonder Woman just showed up? Wouldn't the government want his body... To be sure that someone else doesn't try to make a weapon out of a kryptonian. Man shit... Now I'm pissed again.

I have a simple question.

Why were both Diana Prince and Bruce Wayne at CLARK KENT'S funeral and not SUPERMAN'S funeral?

You weren't supposed to think about that part. Zack Snyder says that that's not important. Focus on them forming the Justice league....:dunno:

So they just had a empty casket in Metropolis and had Superman's real body in Smallville? Man the more I think about this movie the more they fucked it up
Metropolis had a city-wide parade & 'ceremony' for Superman. Just as many cities around the globe had a funeral 'ceremony' for him.

His actually body was buried at the grave in Smallville, that was attended by just a handful of people, like Bruce, Alfred, Diana, Lois his Mom and a few others.

Not hard to understand. :smh:

You know... They could of had Viola Davis in this movie as the government agent that doesn't trust superman and have her want his body so they don't make another doomsday. I swear I can write a better movie.

So there was no body in that casket with the Silver S? Btw you think Lex wrote on Jason Todd's Robin costume so I don't think you know what the fuck your talking about sir.
