What you don't understand is that Michael Jordan prevented greatness by his greater play, he and bulls prevented Utah, Portland, & Phoenix from winning championships, and in that time those Iconic players that you mentioned did not make it to the NBA finals because their teams were NOT good enough to do that; Jordan played the best and prevailed.
